• A. I hate people who illegally park in handicapped spots. I live with someone disabled & the parking spot is not just for fun & games, it's because someone needs it. • The law is you can use the taser when someone is fleeing the scene. She got in the car & was told to get out a couple of times. She was aggressive with the officer & the father to be was also aggressive. Throwing the ticket in his face is considered an assault of an officer. Again, the use of taser can be used in that case. A moving vehicle can be considered a weapon & when he tells her to stop she moves the gear shift instead, then he could consider himself in danger & she to be resisting arrest. There's a Walgreen's video so it can be verified if the officer over reacted or not. As for Chicago which recently again had 20 shooting incidents in one weekend, yes the officers are overtaxed over there. This woman, however, modeled the worse kind of behavior & lack of respect for an officer in front of her two kids. What did she teach them? If an officer says stop don't, resist arrest & throw things at him. She just taught them how to get shot & killed. People like her are part of the problem in Chicago.

• OP, REAL Things that make you go Hmmmmmm... 1- handicap parking permits are difficult to obtain, even if you are pregnant. Your Dr can give you a temp, but usually only for 3 days. For a pregnant lady, it's stupid to get one twice a week. However, fully able-bodied people who have "disabilities" can get them permanently as long as their Dr will "write them a note" and say they're disabled. 2&3- cops are not gods. They are our servants, theoretically, but now they control us. They can issue a ticket (or confiscate your phone, or impound your car, or enter your house, or frisk you on the subway, or....) for any reason, and most of them are bullshit. The growth of government power and the brutality of the police over the last 50+ years is not proof of causation, but it correlates strongly. Telling him to fuck off for being a total dick is not cause for him to assault her with... 4- a deadly weapon, especially as an obviously pregnant woman. Or even as a healthy young male. Tasers are implicated in hundreds of police deaths each year. So, the cop was wrong, and the Frau you so obviously hate was right. The cop should lose his job and be put in prison. If you did the same thing you would be in jail for a few decades.

• Okay so those defending the cop, it was a handicap spot. Not someone fleeing a bank robbery. One of the many problems today in society is that there is at times not enough consideration of the SPIRIT of the law and too much on the LETTER of the law. There was a time where police behaved like human beings as well as like enforcers. Also "back in the day" they understood when it was time to use which ever approach while doing their job. I don't think it is acceptable for the woman to behave as she did but all the officer had to do was take down her license plate and mail her the tickets. • Dear r49 handicapped does not only refer to those who are permanently damaged. Sometimes you are on crutches or have had surgery or maybe even are very pregnant. It is the doctor that authorizes those placards not the city. My 85 year old mother has one, she got one from her doctor. She has a slight limp but otherwise there is nothing wrong with her other than being 85 and not wanting to have to walk a mile to get into the store and then back to her car.
