What was the deal with Mark Wahlberg and George Clooney?

Mr. Macho Marky Mark definitely put out for Miss Clooney, correct?

by Anonymousreply 67August 29, 2020 1:34 AM

You're probably right, OP.

by Anonymousreply 1May 28, 2012 2:04 PM

He wasn't the only one...

by Anonymousreply 2May 28, 2012 2:08 PM

Neither of them is gay, so no.

by Anonymousreply 3May 28, 2012 2:12 PM

R3 = Stacey Keebler

by Anonymousreply 4May 28, 2012 2:25 PM

I'm not 100% sure Clooney is gay, but I could see it. I think a better term for him might be "flexible". But I don't get the Wahlberg rumors. I never got the sense he was gay. But I guess anything is possible.

by Anonymousreply 5May 28, 2012 2:37 PM

I don't think Wahlberg is gay but I do think he's stupid and ambitious. When he worked with Clooney, he was probably awestruck because Clooney was a real actor versus a lucky underwear model so I could see Wahlberg putting out for him because he thought it was the right thing to do.

by Anonymousreply 6May 28, 2012 2:41 PM

I think the problem was that Marky Mark wouldn't put out for Clooney, and that's why he was suddenly dropped from that circle of people.

by Anonymousreply 7May 28, 2012 2:41 PM

George Clooney is indeed gay. I know this for a fact. Wahlberg, no clue.

by Anonymousreply 8May 28, 2012 2:53 PM

I was working on the set of "The Fighter" as an assistant to the caterer's dishwasher when I accidentally bumped into Walhberg while carrying trays of unfinished food. The trays and food went everywhere and I was appalled - I was a little tipsy from the pruno one of the workers, an ex-con, had given me. Mark helped me off the floor. "Mr. Wahlberg, I am so, so sorry for the mess that I've made.". "Oh, it's okay, are you all right, dude?", he asked. He had just come from session with his personal trainer, and was headed to his trailer for a quick shower. He saw that some of the food had gotten all over my tank top. "You can't work like that - come with me to my trailer and we'll get you all cleaned up.". He had a smile on his face that seemed a bit off, but hey, it was Mark Walhberg, and he was being nice to me. "Ok, sir, but I will have to hurry back to the catering tent.". We walked to his trailer, which was about twenty minutes from the gym. He nodded to his bodyguards, two huge black guys, who nodded, then walked away. We went into the trailer, which was huge and very nice. "You go into the bathroom and shower and I'll get you some fresh clothes," Mark said. "But first, I have to make a phone call." He picked up his cell and began dialing a number. I went to the bathroom, removed my food-laden clothing, and stepped into the shower. The hot water felt great as I began to soap myself up, as I wondered how my mom would react when I told her how Mark Walhberg invited me to his trailer...suddenly the plastic curtain opened up and I saw Mark, stark naked, leaning forward, arms resting on the shower rod, blocking my exit..."M-m-mark, what is it?", I asked. "I'll hurry up so you can use the shower. Sorry, I took so long..." Suddenly, out of nowhere, he punched me in the eye so hard my head bounced into the shower wall. The shower stall began to spin...everything went dark. When I came to, I was on the wet floor of the bathroom and Mark was hovering over me, naked, straddling me. H-h-he grabbed my throat and said, "You know I can kill terrorists, right? Do as I say or I'll KILL YOU, got it?". Before I could respond, h-he forced my legs up and over his muscular shoulders and t-t-t-then, h-h-h-he RAPED me!!!

by Anonymousreply 9May 28, 2012 2:57 PM

R9 - say hello to your mother for me...

by Anonymousreply 10May 28, 2012 3:01 PM

What's the story of his falling out with Clooney? I know it's been discussed here in the past. Wasn't Wahlberg supposed to be a part of "Ocean's Eleven" but refused Clooney's advances? Wahlberg did "The Italian Job," another caper movie, a couple years later. Was that a 'fuck-you' to Clooney?

by Anonymousreply 11May 28, 2012 3:08 PM

I thought I read (possibly here) that Damon ended up getting the role meant for Wahlberg in Ocean's 11. If that is true, I wonder if they refashioned the role, because the quiet nerdy Linus does not seem like it would have fit Wahlberg well.

by Anonymousreply 12May 28, 2012 3:20 PM

[quote] Wahlberg did "The Italian Job," another caper movie, a couple years later. Was that a 'fuck-you' to Clooney?

More like "I wish I fucked you" to Clooney.

by Anonymousreply 13May 28, 2012 3:22 PM

The fucking wasn't worth putting up with the bad acting....so the multi-picture deal was dumped...just like Mr Average Wahlberg.

by Anonymousreply 14May 28, 2012 3:36 PM

I don't appreciate the rape jokes, r9. Or making fun of situations like that, where a psychopath is a heartbeat away from inflicting pain as well as pleasure on any poor creature who encounters him.

by Anonymousreply 15May 28, 2012 3:47 PM

Get over your self

by Anonymousreply 16May 28, 2012 3:49 PM

It takes a long time to get over, r16.

by Anonymousreply 17May 28, 2012 3:58 PM

Anyway, is Matt Damon still a part of the Clooney crew? We can assume Brad put out for quite some time, yes? Poor Sam Rockwell wasn't as fortunate...

by Anonymousreply 18May 28, 2012 4:03 PM

It also takes a long time getting over Mark Wahlberg gouging out someone's eye, r17.

by Anonymousreply 19May 28, 2012 4:05 PM

I think Mark is overcompensating and most likely gay. He's pretty fey when he lets his guard down. I'd hope Clooney had a falling out with him when he realized Mark was a right wing sociopath.

by Anonymousreply 20May 28, 2012 4:24 PM

R9, you had me at "assistant to the caterer's dishwasher".

by Anonymousreply 21May 28, 2012 4:32 PM

R9 is hysterical. Twisted, but hysterical.

by Anonymousreply 22May 28, 2012 4:49 PM

lOOK UP hENRY pENZI WHO HAS BEEN AROUND wAHLBERG FOR A WHILE. i HEAR THEY ARE MORE THAN FRIENDS.

by Anonymousreply 23May 28, 2012 6:41 PM

Their affair began during the filming of THREE KINGS, and continued through the filming of THE PERFECT STORM. George was fond of Mark, but Mark, for whom this was his first serious gay relationship, started to fall seriously in love with George. George is gay, Mark is bi. By all accounts, the sex was hot.

In 2001, Mark's reps introduced him to model Rhea Durham, and strongly suggested they date to counteract some of the gossip that was swirling around his friendship with George. Rhea became extremely jealous of the time they were spending together, and demanded that Mark cut off his friendship with George entirely, and after pressure from several sources, he did so.

George was OK with it, but Mark became terribly depressed and started drinking hard. He pulled himself together, married Rhea, and settled into conventional married life. I don't know if he has had extramarital affairs since then, but he seems pretty committed to his family.

sO WHICH ONE IS hENRY pENZI?

aLL i SEE IS mARK WAHLBERG WITH SOME GAY GUYS.

by Anonymousreply 28May 29, 2012 1:59 PM

There was also a rumor about Wahlberg being "rough trade" to some femmy African-American antique dealer up in his native Boston. Before he got all famous, of course. Can anyone confirm?

by Anonymousreply 29May 29, 2012 10:05 PM

by Anonymousreply 30September 13, 2012 4:42 PM

"by all accounts the sex was hot"

I might have believed that post except for the above. As if anyone but the two of them would know, duh.

by Anonymousreply 31September 13, 2012 4:53 PM

These "put out" stories are just silly. The only action that has ever taken place between these two was during a very intense film scene involving Wahlberg. Clooney did allow Wahlberg to "fluff " him in order to create a distraction for Wahlberg and reducing his, Wahlberg's stress of the moment.

Wahlberg has stated many times that he is a louzy fluffer because he suffers from strabismus and tends to go cross eyed if the person being fluffed slips and ejaculates. Wahlberg has often rhapsodized about his challenging oral stimulation talents.

by Anonymousreply 32September 13, 2012 5:17 PM

How does Clooney hold so much power? In or out of his circle? He seems pretty powerful for a boring fellow.

by Anonymousreply 33September 13, 2012 5:19 PM

Don't forget Josh Hartnett.

by Anonymousreply 34September 13, 2012 5:44 PM

George and Keanu were motorcycle buddies for a while. Used to go out on long rides through the mountains or to the coast.

by Anonymousreply 35September 13, 2012 5:54 PM

[R33] He has the same power Jack Nicholson had, for the same reasons. Clooney is the hostess with the mostest.

by Anonymousreply 36September 13, 2012 5:55 PM

R5 Cloony is bisexual. Wahlberg is gay and deeply closeted but that's not difficult to tell.

by Anonymousreply 37October 23, 2013 6:19 PM

Every once in a while, I have doubts that Clooney is gay.

DL heresy, I know, but there it is.

by Anonymousreply 38October 23, 2013 6:37 PM

[all posts by tedious, racist idiot removed.]

by Anonymousreply 39October 23, 2013 7:01 PM

I don't think Clooney is bisexual. I think he's gay and just changes beards every few years like Tommy boy.

by Anonymousreply 40October 23, 2013 7:35 PM

You boys have an active imagination life.

by Anonymousreply 41October 23, 2013 7:37 PM

I think you're right on target, R6.

by Anonymousreply 42December 8, 2014 3:06 PM

George is getting on mu nerves. Nearly everyday there's an insipid article popping up on social media about the wife or about the two of them.

Its the obvious work of a publicist but why?

by Anonymousreply 43December 8, 2014 3:15 PM

[quote]I think Mark is overcompensating and most likely gay. He's pretty fey when he lets his guard down.

His daily church visits must keep his priest/bff very busy.

by Anonymousreply 44December 9, 2014 1:48 PM

Clooney's wedding invitations never got to Marky Mark nor Da-vida R0chelle.

by Anonymousreply 45December 10, 2014 1:15 PM

Maybe Jeremy Renner?

The difference between Mark Wahlberg and George Clooney is that George can buy a gun and he doesn't need to beg for a pardon to be allowed to buy it.

by Anonymousreply 47December 12, 2014 2:11 AM

I know what ended the relationship -- whatever it may have been -- between Clooney and Wahlberg: it was the talk the relationship was generating in the leadup to Ocean's Eleven, which culminated in a barely-nearsighted BI by Ted Casablanca (remember him?) that everyone understood.

Basically, the BI was about how two of the leads (easily identified as Clooney and Wahlberg) of the upcoming movie were planning on sharing a hotel room for the duration of filming. I don't know which of them pulled the plug at that point to avoid a PR disaster, but Wahlberg was replaced by Damon on short notice.

by Anonymousreply 48December 12, 2014 8:58 AM

Ah! So it was Ted Casablanca who ruined their plans.

by Anonymousreply 49December 20, 2014 7:47 PM

too bad Ted got involved.

by Anonymousreply 50January 26, 2015 2:06 PM

I think that Clooney didn't trust Wahlberg. Who can blame him?

by Anonymousreply 51May 25, 2015 8:55 PM

I remember seeing an interview with Wahlberg after The Perfect Storm came out in the late 90's

He seemed like he was in love with Clooney, can't believe him or his handlers let that get aired

by Anonymousreply 52May 25, 2015 8:58 PM

The simplest explanation is always true: Clooney fucks around with hot boys for the thrills - Wahlberg got pissed when Clooney was moving on to other guys and Clooney ran for the hills. Neither thought they were in a relationship, one of them just thought that the fucking would go on a bit longer than the other wanted.

by Anonymousreply 53May 25, 2015 9:00 PM

I thought it was more like Wahlberg pulled away from Clooney because he is notorioulsy homophobic and had heard the rumors about Clooney and his Brah Possee and didn't want to be associated with the rumors or Clooney's lifestyle. I don't know if GC is gay but he wanted to be seen as the leader of a modern day Rat Pack and that is why he was always trying to set himself up as a mentor to young actors. He really is an ass. What could a young actor learn from him other than to pretend to be smarter than you reallly are, never underestimate the value of kissing the asses of those in charge, and how being mediocre and pliable trumps difficult but talented every time in Hollywood. Wahlberg did just fine without Clooney's tutelage. Where is Noah Wylie now?

by Anonymousreply 54May 25, 2015 9:27 PM

[quote]I thought it was more like Wahlberg pulled away from Clooney because he is notorioulsy homophobic

Because he is a closet case? Because his BFF is a closeted case priest?

by Anonymousreply 55May 25, 2015 10:19 PM

I thought Wahlberg brought multiple underage girls back to the hotel room for a wild party. Clooney realizing the possible implications if the paps found out, or if one of the girls' parents went to the police, reacted very strongly.

by Anonymousreply 56May 25, 2015 10:24 PM

R56 This! The idea of Clooney fucking Mark is more delusional than Travolta fucking Kelly, but some DLr's love a good fan fiction. P.S:The Ted blind never existed.

by Anonymousreply 57May 25, 2015 10:36 PM

[quote]I thought Wahlberg brought multiple underage girls back to the hotel room for a wild party.

I could see him doing that in order to create a totally hetero impression. His priest buddy knows the real story.

by Anonymousreply 58May 25, 2015 10:38 PM

Does anyone honestly believe MW didnt put out for Calvin Klein ? Im sure that all those nights at Studio 54 he was passed around like peanuts at a bar.

by Anonymousreply 59May 25, 2015 10:39 PM

R59 Studio 54 was closed in 1986.

by Anonymousreply 60May 25, 2015 10:43 PM

[quote]I don't appreciate the rape jokes, [R9]. Or making fun of situations like that, where a psychopath is a heartbeat away from inflicting pain as well as pleasure on any poor creature who encounters him.

You have been TRIGGERED!!!

by Anonymousreply 61May 25, 2015 10:49 PM

Pretty fey when he lets his guard down...Yes! The Graham Norton interview is very telling. He felt very comfortable rubbing another man's chest.

by Anonymousreply 62May 25, 2015 11:13 PM

Clooney was not a big star when they met on Three Kings. He was a TV actor with a couple of movies under his belt. He had not yet succeeded in being viewed as a movie star rather than a TV guy trying to cross over.

Clooney only got the role when several bigger stars (at the time) had passed on it. Russell had wanted Nicolas Cage.

Wahlberg got the role after both Damon and McConaughey had passed on it. At the time they were movie stars and didn't want to play second fiddle to a TV actor like Clooney.

So Damon being willing to work on Oceans showed that Clooney had finally made it.

by Anonymousreply 63May 25, 2015 11:33 PM

[quote]Clooney realizing the possible implications....

Clooney? CLOONEY R56? WTF, D@vida!!!

Tell us what happened to your cloying "Mr. Clooney" that you used in thousands of posts, out of respect for the man who is the personal manager for your acting career. Is Mr. Clooney no longer getting you acting jobs? Did you fire Mr. Clooney?

by Anonymousreply 64May 26, 2015 4:26 PM

More amusing than the supposed need here to make up stuff about Clooney is the constant assertion that what is staring you right in the face just can't be true. Straight guys simply do not act like that - and they clearly had a falling out. What the hell else could it have been over?

by Anonymousreply 65May 31, 2015 12:44 AM

Huh, I didn't know Mark was replaced by Damon in Ocean's 11. Must have been a messy breakup.
