Because men under 25 rule the marketplace and determine 90% of the product Hollywood puts out and Seth McFarlane is their God.
But with the chance to make any movie he wanted, he did this? Couldn't be any more disappointed.
I want to see it bc I'm a big fan of his work, but Marky Mark is in it, and I can't stand him.
Okay, that was very bizarre.
I really want to see this. Wahlberg is hit or miss. He's either reasonably watchable or completely awful. I think he looks decent in this, but that might just be because he's acting opposite a stuffed bear.
Waht happened to quality American movies ?
I'm going to see it.
I'm no MacFarlane fan, but I am a Bostonian, and it's nice to hear the New England accent finally done right after suffering through the gawdawful Mystic River and Julianne Moore's mediocre attempt on 30 Rock. Both MacFarlane's and Wahlberg's accents are authentic.
The fact that everyone can see and hear him makes it just plain stupid.
Has Wahlberg ever been intentionally funny onscreen?
So R8, you're going to a movie [bold]because of the accents?[/bold]
Wtf?!?!?!?!?!
Has anyone else noticed that Ted's voice sounds odd?
I don't mean the voice itself (which is standard Seth MacFarlane), but the quality of the voice.
It's like crappy loop-dubbing, sort of. It's like the voice is just snuck into the film from outside and afterwards, instead of being part of the filming process.
Does that make sense? And can anyone hear what I'm referring to?
I think Ted's voice sounds exactly like Peter Griffin on FAMILY GUY. Who is the least appealing character on that show.
Maybe I'm just sick of Seth McFarlane. He's cute, talented, super gay-friendly, but just wearing out his welcome.
I love how Wahlberg is supposed to be 35 in this. Ha!
Won't be seeing, even on dvd.
I guess I'm getting sick of Seth, too.
I agree that Ted sounds a lot like Peter on Family Guy.
What's weird is that this has been done. I remember some show with a loser and his toy rabbit with the voice of that loudmouth comedian that was killed by a hit and run driver in Las Vegas.
Bobcat Goldwrigth was killed??
I liked it. I watched it tonight. The Flash Gordon stuff was the best.
It was a horrible movie. It has to be the straight stoner version of 'Caftans. Earrings'.
R19 has no taste.
It was fucking hilarious. I saw it in the theater.
I'm kind of in awe at how he just keeps on going going going. Massive success and multiple shows have not seemed to faze him at all.
I have to agree with R19. It's amazingly unfunny.
More humorless scolds. Seriously, get a sense of humor. It was fucking hilarious.
Serious question to the haters, what comedies do you like?
Ted was best experienced in a theater full of people as the laughter was infectious and plentiful. I'm sure the movie is just as funny at home; but unless you're watching with a large group of family and friends over the holidays, it simply won't compare. Ted was easily the funniest comedy of the past several years.
MacFarlane got so sick of everybody telling him Ted sounds just like Peter Griffin that he included it as a joke in the movie. And at says it all, right there.
