What happened with Merideth Baxter Birney on The Wendy Williams Show?

Meridith said it was her worst interview or Wendy said it was hers?

WOW, really? I saw that interview and, well, Wendy was a bit rushy with her. But then again, Wendy's rushy with everyone. It's those damn sponsors!

Wendy did flub her ex-hubby's name, calling him "Birney" instead of "David", and Meridith seemed annoyed by that and by the way Wendy kept having to cut her off.

Well Wendy did ask her if she "had a little bit of Betty Broderick" in her.

I think it turned for Meredith when Wendy asked if she handled the carpet like a Dirt Devil or an Oreck.

on Andy Cohen's show he asked Wendy what her worst interview was and she said Merideth Baxter....and Andy said "oh yeah, I heard about that."

made me think something really bad happened.

Wendy has no class at all and it's no wonder she can only get hasbeens and D-listers on her show. She's also a terrible interviewer. I don't know why people watch her show. And all of her "gossip" is pulled straight from tabloids and gossip blogs - she doesn't tell us anything we don't already know or couldn't find out on our own.

I saw the interview and it was clear that something happened that made both of them angry. Not that they did anything outright but you could feel the tension. I waited on Merideth Baxter Birney at a luncheonette style restaurant years and years ago and she is one crazy bitch. She got very upset when I told her I couldn't give her the recipe for our soup of the day. For a second I thought she might cry or yell but instead she sulked like a spoiled little girl and then stiffed me. At the prices we charged I didn't want to tell her that it was a commercial brand that you could get in hundreds of other restaurants all over the world and that it came in a big frozen block that looked like something from an airplane lavatory before it was thawed out.

LOL I tried finding this online yesterday too. All I could find was a little one minute snippet that didn't look particularly interesting. How could her Merideth interview have possibly been worse than her Omorosa interview!?

Merideth Baxter always came off like a bitch to me whenever I saw on TV in the past. I think she was great in various film roles in the past, but she seems like she has a chip on her shoulder.

She seemed really unbalanced on Oprah. She kept weeping and blaming David Birney for everything. When they got to examples of the abuse her two big things were 1) She cooked a Thanksgiving dinner that he said she ruined 2) They were visiting Italy and got in an argument and he got mad and went back to the hotel and left her sitting in the restaurant.

That's it?

I agree with you R12. I got the impression she was making negative crap up about her ex husband when in reality she seems like she was the problem. The issue I have with autobiographies is that they are from one point of view, and/ or they are books to make the author blameless and a victim who is not responsible for anything negative in his or her life.

It hurt when Williams kept saying she loved her on Petticoat Junction. That was Meredith McCray.

It got out of hand when she asked how she liked taking a back seat to a second rate Jew (Birney), a fat ass (Sada Thompson) and a shaking midget (Michael J Fox).

Meredith was all a giggle, but Wendy says, "Don't giggle at me white girl, I don't want none of what you're offering."

How come they didn't cast a Jewish actor to play Bernie? Not that Irish David Birney didn't adequately fill the role by being a casting director's dream of a Jewish NYC cabbie.

I read Meredith's book and if you had to endure the type of abuse she did, you'd be a bit crazy too.

I heard just the opposite about Meredith Baxter. A friend of mine was a manager at a restaurant and Meredith and David came in with their young twins often to the restaurant. She said that after they were done, Meredith always got down on her hands and knees and cleaned up all of the food droppings around the two high-chairs. She said most parents just walked away from their young kids' messes.

I've always heard that 'TV Wendy' is a very easy interview. She sticks to approved questions and doesn't throw any curve balls. Apparently she was something of a female Howard Stern on the radio and would out people and reveal all kinds of gossip. She has really cleaned up her image for daytime tv. Now she is just another NJ housewife with a talkshow. Her show has been renewed for another 2 or 3 years, so I guess its working.

I like the hot topics segment on her show and then just fast forward through the rest.

Great after-show clip. How can anyone watch that and not like her?

And if her gossip isn't orignal, she at least saves us the time of doing all the reseach and reading ourselves. Plus she puts her own spin and opinion on it.

She never really outed anyone, but she had a special "How you doin'" sound effect that would play when certain celebs were discussed, such as Will Smith, Queen Latifa and a few others.

Wendy doesn't always have D-listers on her show, geez. Some of you should learn to investigate things before you open your big ass mouths.

LOL I do the same thing R24. I watch the first 10 minutes and then usually delete the rest (unless there's a guest on that I'm interested in). Her show has too many annoying commercial breaks with tiny little segments in between (like ask the audience). Gets on my last nerve.

She was amusing for awhile, but she's worn thin. She's not that funny or talented, and really does lack taste.

Anyone who gets anxious when they're not the tallest person in the room has a weak self image and needs therapy.
