I don't know, but she was a big pro-SSM supporter before she got elected, even though she took a risk by doing so since she was expected to lose to the Republican Steve Cooley. She managed to eek out a win.
She's also against the death penalty, but says she won't do anything about it unless Californians want her to. I wish she would.
She is way hot! Thank goodness I'm from California. Proud to have a hot AG. Hope she runs for higher office one day.
No, she at one time had an affair with Willie Brown.
The Voice of the Night
Thanks Voice of the Night
Willie Brown? Well, I hope she joins our team one day.
Closet Republican. Huge pussyhound.
I am a huge Kamala Harris supporter, been following her for years. She is very pro-gay, always has been.
I have always wondered if she is gay. Never married, gorgeous as you can see, smart, classy, really no partners in sight, except for the odd Willie Brown pairing when she was in her 30s. You hear nothing about other mates ever. She is stealth, stealth so far.
Lately, she has dropped the pronouns and has started saying in interviews "he" when asked about future partners, and "them" or "their" when referring to gays and gay rights. She seems to have high moral character so these recent "he" and "them" "their" remarks make he think she is NOT gay. :(
But a friend of mind says that really does not mean anything still.
[quote]She's equally circumspect about her private life. Harris, who lives in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood, will talk about her passion for cooking, her fondness for jazz, rap and Bob Marley, her devotion to family and old friends. But ask about Willie Brown and she changes the subject. Mention marriage, and she replies, "If you happen to run into my (future) husband, tell him how to find me."
I love her too, have never known what her status is other than being smart and gorgeous.
Even that comment I posted is kind of suspect. Like, men are having a hard time finding her?
I don't understand why someone so pro-gay would dance around the issue if she was indeed gay. She's in office in CA and not Alabama or somewhere like that, and took a risk by supporting SSM during her run against Cooley.
Isn't Oprah pro gay?
An affair with Willie Brown? Yep, she's a dyke.
I think she's "careful" because she has higher political aspirations. May be running for the presidency one day.
What do you mean r14?
She gay and being careful? Or she is careful choosing male partners?
r15 "Careful" in keeping her private life private. She's good at keeping the focus on the issues at hand.
Another poster who lives in SF wrote in a thread a year or two ago that she was gay. As she gets known more and more on a national level, I can see her playing the "married to my career" card.
R4, one short-lived opposite sex relationship makes a person straight for life? I guess I have to go back in the closet.
"She has all the advantages and disadvantages of being perceived as the next star," observes the same supporter who was concerned about her early lack of focus. "The advantages come with publicity, ability to raise money, media coverage, and the talent that's attracted to her. The disadvantages are: She has very little room for error, and other pols will look very closely at what she's doing."
As a consequence of that heightened scrutiny, perhaps, Harris is noticeably guarded in her relations with the press. Unlike her predecessor Brown, who is known for speaking off-the-cuff, Harris tends to maintain a professional coolness in her public appearances. And though she hardly hides herself from the media, since taking statewide office she has rarely granted interviews that stray beyond well-defined topics. For this story, it took months of persistence to schedule a general interview - and in the end her staff agreed to only 30 minutes.
"Kamala is not someone who is just going to tell you everything about herself," says civil rights attorney Eva Paterson, a long-time friend of Harris who helped her get started in politics.
"I wouldn't call her reserved necessarily, but I would say that she's conscious of her audience at all times," says Paul Henderson, who was chief administrator for Harris in her district attorney days. "She's aware of who people are around her."
I think it's possible Kamala could join Obama in some capacity in his 2nd term.
Definitely why not, R23?
Patt Morrison was really chilly and curt with her at the DNC. And then Patt Morrison lost her job! Ha ha! Bye bye, sanctimonious vegan trash!
How do you know that r26?
Kamala for Supreme Court!
When she runs for Governor, more will be revealed.
R31, do you mean to sound creepy?
She is somehow related to Obama--it's like through marriage or something and she has been very helpful to him during his 2 campaigns. There is a lot of talk that she'll be considered for the Supreme Court, as she is black, white and asian.
You are projecting r32.
Why does she have to be either gay or straight? What if she's bisexual.
She is gorgeous as hell whatever she is!
She is definetly one of the most eligible women in the US whether straight/gay or bi.
The POTUS could be in the doghouse for a little bit with FLOTUS after that statement about Harris' looks.
California has all of the beautiful people.
She's the best looking cunt in govment. Shit. That her brother?
No R38 but with that bitter tone you have I suspect she may have put your brother in jail a few years ago. There's nothing more AMAZING than a powerful woman that is also attractive.
I'd tap that.
DO NOT KNOW, BUT DIDN'T SHE AND HER GIRL FRIEND VACATION IN INDIA LAST SUMMER AND TAKE
THE HONEYMOON SUITE AT A TOP NOTCH HOTEL?
CHECK IT OUT.
How are we supposed to check it out?
This is the politician I've been wondering about. She's married, etc., but she pings to high heaven.
I prefer to imagine Kamala as the Olivia Pope to Barack Obama's Fitzgerald Grant. (I just wish Barry would get to it and murder Antonin Scalia already......)
R44, She is a Dougla, meaning she's of African and Indian descent.
I could not believe when I turned onto the Sunday morning shows and again the President's comments about Kamala Harris was discussed during the round tables.
It's ridiculous but should not surprise me given the current state of our so-called news media.
Who cares? By the way, I know about 10 women as gorgeous and accomplished as Ms. Harris who are not married. It's hard for women with that kind of high profile and success to find a man. Condaleeza Rice has never been married, only had 1 known boyfriend years ago. I really don't get why people care so much about people's sexual orientation. Do these women have what it takes to assume the jobs they have been offered? If the answer is YES, nothing else should matter. Including their looks.
R52, Condeleeza Rice is not very attractive at all. Not a good comparison.
I would think most could see why she may be single?
Also, this is a gay gossip site. And if/when someone who is very attractive (male or female) and never married and/or rumored to be gay or bi of course it will naturally get talked about here on datalounge.
Why wouldn't it?
And those 10 women that you know who are just as attractive as Kamala Harris, how many of them are AG's of a state and very likely to run for Governor?
Also, if Harris should run for Governor, win, and do a good job, she will immediatley be considered as at least VP material. Harris, unlike the women you likely know, could one day be sitting in the White House.
Condi Rice is a horrible example.
I agree with everyone saying that she's stunning. She is, and that is coming from a gay man. I hope she'll run for Governor of CA one day, at the very least.
