• Wendy Jo Sperber was funny in "Moving Violations". I hated this sitcom and I never liked "Some Like It Hot" either. In fact, I don't like any of the drag movies except "Tootsie". Hated Priscilla, The Birdcage, To Wong Foo.

• Mrs. Doubtfire, another one I hated. Milton Berle, hated. RuPaul, I like. Lady Bunny I like.

• I met him once years ago at a small party - it was either during or a few years after "Newhart." Friendly but not overly so, preppie, on the small side, obviously bright. Something like a hetero David Hyde Pierce. He was married then. I told him that I'd liked "Bosom Buddies" and we talked about it for a couple of minutes. He said they really started enjoying it when the whole drag aspect was dropped and he and Tom Hanks could concentrate on physical comedy and relationship humor. He didn't seem self-impressed or self-important. All I remember from the rest of the conversation was a discussion of children being nominated in major acting categories in the Emmys. He thought that, with a few exceptions, they weren't acting so much as they were being coached, and that people voted for them because they were cute. He thought it would be better to have a category for Best Child Performer and leave the major acting categories to adults.
