- My stepfather is straight, and he likes to wear jewelry when going out.
He frequently wears one of the two chain bracelets I've made him (I'm a jewelry designer): they both use large, masculine chain links in "gunmetal" (dark grey color), so he can wear them with either gold or silver watches.
And he's especially fond of the necklace I made him for Xmas a few years ago: the beads are hematite twisted cylinders. It's unique and dressy but not "blingy" or crass. He gets a lot of compliments on it, too.
He knows better than to wear jewelry while showering. As for wearing it during sex with my mother (they're both 70 years old), I don't wanna think about it! >:(

Both my chains were 22 kt gold, from Indian jewelers here in NY. My ex was South Indian, 22 kt gold jewelry is their standard. Everything else to me looks like cheap brass, nothing gleams like 22 or 24 kt. I had two special Hindu pendants, supposedly auspicious to wear. One was a gold 'sovereign' stamped with an image of the goddess Laksmi, the other was a 'Navaratna' which is a pendant with 9 gems representing some of the planets in the solar system and the sun and moon. I sold all of it after he and I broke up after 13 years of life together. I needed to pay off old debts, and the Hindu jewelry was just sitting there in a box. I sold it to Circa, a respected buyer here in NYC. Got $2,500 for my pieces, I know I could have gotten more.
I miss wearing a chain, one day when I have extra money I will go to the Indian or Chinese jeweler and buy another high-karat gold chain.
