Kate Winslet: 'I'm thinner since Titanic, Leonardo DiCaprio's fatter'

Monday, Apr 2 2012 Kate Winslet has joked that much has changed about her and Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio's appearance since its 1997 premiere. The actress, who recently celebrated the film's 15th anniversary 3D re-release, said that the physical differences in both her and DiCaprio's younger selves are more than obvious upon re-watching the historical drama. "We do look very different, we're older," Winslet explained during an interview on ITV's Daybreak. "Leo's 37, I'm 36 - we were 21 and 22 when we made that film. You know, he's fatter now - I'm thinner." Winslet, who has expressed displeasure with her performance in Titanic, recently claimed that her children are the perfect age to enjoy the movie.

• Most A-list stars in their 30's still have great bodies, so it's odd that Leo doesn't. Brad Pitt had washboard abs when he was Leo's age, and had an amazing body in Troy when he was even older than Leo is now.

• I wonder how Leo feels when he watches Titanic now that he's fat with that big ol' meat and potato head. It must be depressing. The good thing is, is that he didn't seem to ever want that teen idol status they were forcing on him. He's a pretty damn good actor and I appreciate that he knew his looks would fade and that he would have to rely on his acting chops. Kate is also an amazing actress and I'm glad she's thin and looks good. While men can walk around all day long with a big fat gut, society is unfair to women even if they look great.

• I saw a clip of 'Titanic' on t.v. today and was reminded of how beautiful and angelic Leo looked in that movie. He was at the peak of his beauty. He definitely doesn't look like that now.
