• It's hard for me to understand the mindset of someone who starts a thread to trash a TV show they don't watch.

• So many people that I know tell me I should watch Mad Men. I'm also a big entertainment buff and read about it constantly on entertainment news websites and magazines. Yes, I may like it, but I am very resistant toward it because I can't stand all of the fucking hype (no show can seriously be worth this much attention) or the fucking fans. Sorry, MM fans.

• At this point, does anyone really care about this show anymore? It seems to disappear for a bit longer than most, they took that whole year and a half break while they bitched over money. Even for diehard fans like me, many seem to have become tired of it. I like the show in general but my boyfriend said something about it this morning and it made me realize that I really couldn't give a shit when or if it comes back. Did they ruin the momentum of their viewers, or many of their viewers by being so pompous about their schedule and short season? On the other hand, Breaking Bad did that whole FUCK YOU to its fans with the "this is the final season.. no, psych! It isn't, we're having a second half" thing and I'm still anxious to watch it.

• I love Mad Men I have been watching it from the beginning(can't wait for it to start up again). But even I hate the hype it gets. It is a bit like the HBO show "the girls." The media latches onto shows and talks about it endlessly even though the show is watched by less than 2 million people. People in the media are detached from society. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the attention it gets is simply because they buy off columnist to talk and rave about it.

• Didn't Weiner's demands have something to do with other shows on AMC getting their budgets cut?

• Boring and overrated. Gays love it because it's essentially soft core porn. But it's so vacant and yet so in love with itself. It had the potential to be a truly great show were it able to get out of its own asshole. There hasn't been one profound or truly memorable moment in the entire run. It won't have legs in syndication.

• R27 - There are several memorable moments: The "it's toasted" speech. Don giving his brother 5K. Bobby telling Don that he needs a new daddy The Carousel speech Don visiting Peggy in the hospital Don "I don't have a contract" line. And those are just from the first two seasons.

• Very excited about the new season.

• I enjoy the Mad Men program. But I don't understand why it only seems to be aired early on Sunday mornings in Canada.

• Tried a couple of times and couldn't get into it. The clothing and decor are fun but not really my "type" of show. Find it boring.

• It's my favorite show, by far. Yes, sometimes I wish the pace was faster, but it has a lot of pay off and the acting is excellent. My other favorite show is The Good Wife, so I don't know why the earlier poster made it seem like being fans of both shows is an either/or. I've tried to get into Breaking Bad and Justifed, but I couldn't. I would like to have another drama to be into, since I've given up on Once Upon a Time, Revenge and Smash, and I'm about to give up Nashville. I watch True Blood American Horror Story and Game of Thrones, even though they are kind of silly. I don't like any of the Showtime shows other than Homeland and even that was spotty last season. I just miss the shows I was *in love* with like X-Files, Buffy, Felicity, Once and Again, Lost, Gilmore Girls....

Well R17, I am not R16 / 18, but personally, I saw a thread that was entitled simply "MAD MEN" and assumed it would be a place for fans to discuss the upcoming season - a logical conclusion based on the title, if you ask me. If the title had said something much more clear about the OP's opinions and intentions (i.e., "Does anyone else hate MAD MEN?") then you'd be well on your way to having a decent point.
