So what's the deal, is he a psycho?
His breakup with Diana was one of the strangest PR debacles I've seen - usually stars keep their dirty laundry to themselves, but she went out of her way to destroy his reputation.
Don't understand all the fuss over this big bag of nothing.
Supposedly changed his ways after the bad press, was very professional on the set of Big Mike.
Correction, Magic Mike.
Showed his balls on British t.v. when he was just a teen.
I think you all are just jealous. He looks good to me
"Next Big Thing" Syndrome (with apologies to William Goldman):
Who is Alex Pettyfer?
Get me Alex Pettyfer!
Get Alex Pettyfer the fuck off my film!!!
Get me someone like Alex Pettyfer!
Who is Alex Pettyfer?
From what I remember, he hit her and she left him immediately, OP.
He's another spoiled brat who thought he could do whatever he wanted and got slapped down.
But the minute he's on the rise again, if that happens, then the douchebag personality will return.
OP I agree with you. I've been racking my brains to figure out if his PR company did him in because him and Diana were in the same PR company when this all happened! I mean are you telling Robin Baum couldn't sort this out with Simon Halls behind closed doors??
And all those anonymous stories that were printed re Alex, it was all just really bizarre.
I agree that he obv had a bad rep but so do so many people we don't know of until they lose it publicly-see Mel Gibson-so this is nothing new.
Hollywood doesn't care and these posters are woefully naive if they think that it cares. What p'd off Hollyweird is that Alex did not want to take the 10 movie Disneyish deal that they gave him. He was introduced to us with this massive movie deal via Speilberg's company Dreamworks which was unheard of but obviously alot was gambling on him. He agreed to this but it appears when he got to Hollywood he threw a tantrum and did not want to play ball-I think he was gonna get paid like 100K to be a lead in movies that were looking to each make £300 + million, slavery anyone?
Anyway, that pretty much rubbed people up the wrong way and was deemed majorly unprofessional. So cue all the leaks about his bad boy behaviour to the press and then suddenly it appears Super publicist Halls can't protect his client anymore!?
Really? Yeah and pigs can fly. Halls appears to be doing a very good job of keeping Pettyfer out of the media except for staged photo ops with Riley Keough.
Here's my question. How did he get this part in Magic Mike? He's a bad actor, his movies have bombed, and his reputation off set is poor.
Now since this is Datalounge I know the answer will be he slept with someone. But isn't that true of everyone else? Does he suck dick THAT much better than every other 20 something actor?
Alex pretty ferocious huh
At the time rumor had it that Dianna got pregnant and was waffling on whether or not to keep the baby. Alex wanted them to get married and raise it together but she had an abortion because her "people" thought it would be best for her career. He said he'd stay with her if she'd dump her manager and hire his (which she did for a while). They broke up soon after. Again, this was the rumor at the time.
r11, too bad he never ever moved past "Who is Alex Pettyfer?"
99.9999999% of the American public has absolutely no idea whatsoever who he is.
Simon Halls just isn't very good at his job.
I mean Matt Bomer is getting Alex press for Magic Mike, going by the buzz you'd think Matt was the lead in the film.
If I were Alex I'd be asking Simon why are you not getting me any press?
What were these rumours?
Anyone got the balls pic?
My favorite of his imdb quotes:
"L.A. is growing on me a little bit, but it's still a shit-hole. I think it's this insidious pool where nearly everyone lives in fear. Geographically it's fantastic: in a half hour, you can be on the beach in one direction, go snowboarding in another, or go out into the desert. But socially it's disgusting. I wish they'd just run all the cunts out."
r14, slavery yes. But you do that because if the film really makes that much money you become a movie star. Tom Cruise got 75k for Risky Business, wanna bet where he'd be if he threw a tantrum to the powers that pulled the deal for him? He'd probably be in Pettyfer-ville or worse.
He did just get a new film, so it's not all bad in Pettyferville. Maybe they can't anyone to say anything nice about him, so they're keeping him out of the public eye. Just a guess, but I'm really curious as to what's going on.
They did let him out of isolation for that Young Hollywood thing a few days ago but then they locked him right back up again. I wonder if they'll let him out for the Magic Mike premiere.
I hadn't heard any of this! He really a douche?
He is very moley and has weird skin. What's his skin color, precisely?
It's always a mistake to act the part of the spoiled, mouthy, out-of-control, trash-talking star before you're actually made a star.
Where did this come from? Wrong thread?
[quote]I hadn't heard any of this! He really a douche?
His drunken antics at a series of different clubs a couple of years ago were well-documented in the media, and his diva behavior on film sets is well known in the industry (pre-"Magic Mike," at least). I disagree that he's a bad actor, but he's unquestionably a horribly egotistical one; the question now is whether Simon Halls can successfully salvage his rep. "Magic Mike" alone won't do it; that film's truly a showcase only for Channing Tatum, even if Alex is the main secondary character. After being blamed (fairly or not) for the failure of "I Am Number Four," originally intended to be the next "Twilight" (supernatural young adult book series turned into massively popular film series), he needs to prove he can helm a major film, but probably needs to take baby steps to get there. "Magic Mike" isn't a terrible start, but a meaty role in an indie flick could do wonders; look at how "Young Adult" managed to resuscitate Charlize Theron's stalled career.
Alex can't be a bigger douche than Shia LaDouche, and Shia LaDouche still manages to get work.
He really is incredibly gorgeous.
Hopefully he can clean up his act and establish a good career.
R30? Directors "helm" films not actors.
Also, Charlize Theron is in control of her career. It wasn't stalled, she took time out to consider the direction of her career and private life. It's not like she couldn't have worked. Re-launching one's career with a Jason Reitman film and the prequel to Alien hardly suggests her career was stalled.
The latest rumor is that he's fucking one of the male producers of "50 Shades" in an effort to get the part.
He did a spec film for Gus Van Sant for 50 Shades. I found this really desperate on both their parts, but I hope the film leaks online.
Diana Agron (Glee)
Supposedly, he doesn't want the part.
Lee Daniels obviously fell in lust with Pettyfer when he directed him in "The Butler" because he wants to make an interracial "gay 'Mr. And Mrs. Smith' with Alex in the lead.
