She's the "it" thing again. She's all over TV with her reality show and her E! Fashion Police show. Now she's being interviewed by Jane Lynch on Piers Morgan. I love the old broad, and she keeps me laughing with her spot-on, rapid fire jokes. Her daughter Melissa is kind of annoying, but I love their "reality" show.

I wish DL would ban these sock puppets that are ruining the site. That your puppetry elsewhere, OP.

Hey R1, FUCK YOU! (in my Joan Rivers voice)
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 13, 2012 1:20 AM |
I used to like her, but lately I'm getting sick and tired of Joan Rivers. Ever since she did Celebrity Apprentice back in 2009 she's been EVERYWHERE.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 13, 2012 1:33 AM |
I think she's wonderful! I hope she lives forever! To the extent that's impossible, alas, I often find myself wondering:
When Joan Rivers dies, will Melissa:
a. Become disconsolate, even suicidal, or
b. Be somehow set free?
I hope Joan lives to be over 100!

I had to laugh when she said of Zooey Deschanel:
"She's so damn perky her clitoris is a Skittle."
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 13, 2012 1:59 AM |
I think she's back living in LA or at least staying here for prolongued periods. It creates more visibility when there are so many minor cable stations desperate for programming.

I used to be a huge joan Rivers fan. Always thought she should have gotten the Tonight Show hosting gig after Johnny left. Now, I can't stand to watch her. She's a modern day bully and mean girl and it's sickening to watch her spit out venom as her followers laugh at everything she spews out. She should have stayed a comedienne. Can't stomach the evil woman. No wonder her husband committed suicide. sad but true.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 13, 2012 6:11 AM |
She walked out on Edgar and 2 days later he committed suicide. She always downplays this fact, covers it with a scenario of financial business. Where was Melissa during this?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 13, 2012 1:18 PM |
"Where was Melissa during this?"
I'm thinking she was attending school, as most 19 year olds would be doing. Since she wasn't even an adult, I hardly think she could be managing her parents' affairs.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 13, 2012 1:24 PM |
So WHAT if she walked out on Edgar? First, maybe she SHOULD have. Second, it is not her fault he killed himself. Depression, mental illness or weak character is to blame for that.
I am a Joan Rivers fan. She has gotten a lot more caustic over the years but celebrity culture has dumbed down to astounding levels, too, and the morons out there need to be smacked down. Repeatedly. And hard. Joan does the best job of that.
She is the first to make fun of herself, too. Always has.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 13, 2012 1:30 PM |
Agree with R10. So what if she walked out on Edgar? People are allowed to leave their partners if they're not happy.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 13, 2012 1:33 PM |
She used to hate Barbra Streisand and called her ugly on her 1997 radio show on WOR. Now she simply "loves" her.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 13, 2012 1:34 PM |
OP = Freeper troll.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 13, 2012 1:39 PM |
She's a two face money grubbing phoney old cunt and I cannot wait to clog dance on her grave
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 13, 2012 1:39 PM |
Aww, I missed her on Piers Morgan.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 13, 2012 1:39 PM |
Agree with R10. Streisand and Rivers have been friends for decades. Streisand understand's Joan's humor and Joan has been a fan of Barbra's since her beginnings- they were in some minor plays together as well in the early 60s.
Joan goes after everyone and as R10 says- it's almost appropriate because celebrity culture long ago jumped the shark. Anyone who becomes famous for farting on TV and then protests about press or whatever- deserves continuous ridicule- after all, they subject the public to worse. And all famous people from politicians to legitimate entertainers can, if they want, have private lives. Many accomplish it without too much trouble- like Streisand. Even the most famous woman in the world for decades, Mrs Onassis accomplished it by simply not talking to the press.

She's a Republican who said this:
[quote]How can you not be [a Republican]? How can anyone not be? How can you live in a country when you can not [sic] say the Pledge of Allegiance anymore? Insane people have taken over the Democratic Party. They’re mad. They’ve taken over the asylum. To be worried about what the terrorists were eating at Camp X-ray, I think you’re beyond insane. They've just blown up New York.
She's also mentally ill, a woman who can't stop butchering her face, while making fun of others. She has body dysmorphic disorder, and has even shot rat poison into her face.
She still makes fun of the Clintons. Get Joan a calendar.
She's is a despicable human being.
It'll be a happy day when this pos is no longer with us.

"I spoke to him the day before," comedienne Joan Rivers said, her voice filled with disbelief and anguish. "He said he had finished his business and was coming home.
Why the revision of the last days of his life? Why did he entirely cut her out of his will?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 13, 2012 1:48 PM |
Well, she's right that insane people have taken over the Democratic Party, but then again, insanity is rampant in the Republican party as well. In fact, all the parties are psychotic. You Americans are nutty.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 13, 2012 1:48 PM |
Who gives a shit about Joan Rivers' political beliefs? I think she's funny as hell and has some of the best writers in the business backing her. Love her delivery, love the way she makes fun of herself.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 13, 2012 1:53 PM |
According to the TV movie, 'Tears and Laughter: The Joan and Melissa Rivers Story', Melissa was at school when Edgar died.
I wish that movie was still available somewhere. I did a search on youtube and it didn't come up.

O'rly.
What insane people have "taken over" the Democratic Party.
We'll wait, troll.

[quote]Who gives a shit about Joan Rivers' political beliefs?
Everyone does. A celeb's politics = if we support them or not. Don't play that game because your Queen has been outed as a shitheaded Freeper. You'd care about any other celebrity Republican's political beliefs.
Your money is going to the GOP, which in turn keeps you as a second class citizen. A person's politics has immense control of their stand-up, and Joan has always been political.
This is a woman elder-gays flock to, labeling her as a gay icon. Your gay icon would happily see you shipped off to interment camps.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 13, 2012 2:09 PM |
Her show is so scripted it's painful. I like her, though.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 13, 2012 2:16 PM |
".. has some of the best writers in the business backing her."
How can this be when her show is insufferable? I couldn't get through 5 minutes of that shit. Where's this rapid fire response that OP claims?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 13, 2012 2:26 PM |
Yes, yes, R24, Joan Rivers wants to enact the Final Solution with gay people. Are you trolling, stupid, or both?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 13, 2012 2:33 PM |
charlie, you're full of it.
Joan in Playboy plugging her lousy movie "Rabbit Test" in 1979, talking about having been in a play with her, "which she (Barbra) has forgotten in her own warm way..."
Joan trashing Babs on her radio show was way overdone (her wedding dress, all of her closthes, how she nickels & dimes antique dealers); Joan even trashed Barbra's self-glamorizing in "Mirror has Two Faces" WHILE interviewing Peter Bogdanovich.
I guess Babs talked to Joan and the feud ended. Still, they are hardly friends.

R29 that would be a rather ironic way to go, would it not?
Regardless, no matter what you bitter bitches say, I hope she's around for a while?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 28, 2014 3:48 PM |
R32 well yeah considering she was the only one with that gig whose IQ ever hit triple digits, she's kind of missed.
Although actually I don't think Rancic is dumb, her legions of haters notwithstanding. I see a working brain in there somewhere.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 28, 2014 3:51 PM |
In the interview she walked out on about a month ago, she was accused of being mean to people on her fashion police show, and Joan denied it. She says they only criticize the dresses and that's not personal. I never watched the show and thought that was a reasonable answer. It would've been if it wasn't a bald-faced lie. I did catch the show a few weeks later, and Joan made vicious personal comments about every celeb they discussed. Everyone knows her whole schtick is low-brow insult comedy, yet she has the nerve to deny it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 28, 2014 3:55 PM |
So, what has she been up to lately? I haven't seen her in awhile.
