I thought she went public years ago with an eating disorder.
Courtney was part of the infamous ALLY MCBEAL set in the 90s: almost every woman in the cast was anorexic or bulimic: Calista, Portia, probably Lucy and Jane. I'm convinced the body issues were part of what made poor full-figured Lisa Nicole Carson insane.
She suffered from an eating disorder, so I'm not sure if being the spokesperson for a diet plan is such a great idea.
Courtney was chunky by Hollywood standards earlier in her career. She was also self conscious about her large chest. Watch the first few seasons of Melrose Place. She felt large in comparison to Heather Locklear. She lost some weight before Ally, and then more as the show progressed.

I thought she was pretty chunky on Melrose Place.
She claimed that she had decided to leave Ally McBeal and join the cast of that God-awful Jim Belushi sitcom because it would free her from the pressure of staying thin. The next time I saw her, she was on the TV commercial for Atkins looking like a starving African orphan..
Are you kidding? She was thin on Melrose Place. She had always been thin and has admitted to having had an eating disorders.
Lisa Nicole Carson was obese. Jane Krakowski was normal weight to Hollywood chunky.
Busty, yes. Thick, no R12.
Didn't CTS take a year or two off between Ally and the godawful Jim Belushi show.
R10, she was under pressure to lose weight from the MP producers. She was much heavier than Heather and most of that cast.
That's a perfectly normal body @R12, in my humble opinion.

Find me her photo from that time where she looks obese.
In the ad, they draped a slender lock of long blonde hair across her collarbone so it would not appear jutting.
Comapared to her weight in that Atkins commercial, R14, she was thick.
Courtney also got a dreadful "mom" haircut during the first season of Ally.
My favorite part of MP was Courtney playing Alison drunk.
I always liked to stand next to that fat girl.
Portia Degeneris (beleaguered vegetarian)
What some of you consider obese and thick is well within the range of normal for women's body types. This may come as a shock to some of you, but many women have tits and hips without being anywhere near "obese."
Lisa was obese or close to it. She was much bigger than Jane, who had a normal womanly figure.
Lisa had a HUGE ass!
You people saying that Lisa is/was obese are insane. She is gorgeous, curvy, and thinner than 90 percent of American women (in person).
There is no way that she is doing the actual Atkins diet. A low fat version perhaps. Atkins dieters can get to an average weight on the diet, but it isn't really possible to get as thin as she is without reducing fat and watching total caloric intake.
I even liked Courtney in "According to Jim."
She's just pretty and likeable!
Courtney was good in According to Jim. The problem with According to Jim was Jim,

Just the opposite, babe.
Thorne-Smith had one asset that made her famous - her chest. That's it. Her crooked mouth, her high shoulders, etc she is hardly a sex symbol. I could see why she was uncomfortable on a set with Heather Locklear - a total hottie in her day, but also a whore.
R45 - wasn't just her chest. Courtney also has a gorgeous, radiant smile, and a nice head of hair.
Ironically, she was self conscious of her large chest.
