- Did anyone ever find out who the supposed "Gay Met" was? Back in '02-'03 or so (the latter part of Mike's tenure there), some editor in the gay press went on record as saying he was dating a pro athlete from an "East Coast" sports team who was "a star, but not the biggest star" on his team.
Not sure why this was pitched on as being a Met, specifically. (Unless it's because Mikey pings so nicely.) But it couldn't be him, since Mike *was* the biggest star of the Mets. So if the athlete in question wasn't Mike (Piazza's own sexuality aside)…who was it?
