Didn't Cameron tease her so much about her weight on the set that it was a contributing factor to her eating disorder?
I met Tracey back in 2004 when she came to our college to talk about anorexia, and she was nice as could be. Nice to know she doesn't agree with this asshole.
[quote]I hope more people speak out!
I'd prefer she outed him.
BTW, didn't she have a sister that was also an actor?
Yes, R6 Missy Gold was on Benson.
You're all so predictable.
R6, yes. Missy Gold from "Benson."
[quote] BTW, didn't she have a sister that was also an actor?
Yes, Missy, who was on "Benson." Missy left the business and now is a practicing psychologist.
Having another actor from Growing Pains enter the debate really puts it in perspective.
Thank you Tracy! Glad to see that at least one child star from my generation has some sense. Oh, and isn't dead.
R6 Her sister was on "Benson." I think she broke up with her husband in front of a house Igna Swenson and Diana Canova were subletting from Jasmine Guy. It was a holiday party they were invited to, I think.
that is awesome. good for her.
I love you, R11.
I really enjoyed the title of this thread until I realized there was another word after "DEAD".
I think he did, come to think of it, R3.
No surprise. Typical Christian born-again cruelty. They are drawn to the hatred, which is why they choose that path. I grew up around these Fundie shitstains. It's not about Jesus at all. It's about how much control they can have over others.
Anyway, good for Tracey Gold. Thanks. :)
Did you see Tracey and her family on Celeb Wife Swap? Yeah, I know it's a cheesy show, but she and her husband came across as very down-to-earth, very loving, and committed to raising their sons to be responsible, decent people. Tracey seems like a pretty great person.
[quote]I really enjoyed the title of this thread until I realized there was another word after "DEAD".
But was it actually a worod?
[quote] she and her husband came across as very down-to-earth, very loving, and committed to raising their sons to be responsible, decent people.
Tracey's husband is Roby Marshall, who she met when he was a PA on "Growing Pains."
Roby's mother was murdered by his father (at least according to Joe McGinniss).
That's interesting R19. Even more interesting that Joanna Kerns, the mom from Growing Pains, is in the movie about the murder, according to your link.
I think I read somewhere that Tracy Gold has a sister named Missy...?
Was she on Benson?
When is Leo going to speak out?
"When is Leo going to speak out?'
How about Brad Pitt who appeared on Growing Pains or the actor who played "Boner"? Oh, wait, the latter committed suicide didn't he (son of Walter Koenig (Chekov of Star Trek)?
Statement from Leonardo DiCaprio:
The dirty little secret is that Kirk worships Satan, but he's too stupid to realize. Because the man who wrote that book series is a Satanist through and through.
r21 I'm pretty sure her sister's name is Missy Benson.
It must have been a living hell for Tracey and Leo to work with this asshole. I remember Leo saying he hated working on Growing Pains because it was so phoney on the set.
I hope Tracey gets a movie or TV deal out of this. That will show show the conservative crowd how people react to outspoken gay friendly actors from the yesteryears.
[quote] I hope Tracey gets a movie or TV deal out of this
Wasn't she just on that new crapfest on TV Guide network, "Hollywood Girls Night Out" or some such? I'm sure she was in the promos.
r27, I posted that in another Kirk Cameron thread here. Many years ago, when Leo was just starting to get famous in movies, he did an interview where he said he hated working on 'Growing Pains' because everybody was so fake and phony it drove him nuts.
Leo was cast in GP only because the youngest son on the show (I forget his name), who was cute as a kid, had turned into such an ugly teenager TPTB on the show knew there was no teen idol potential for him. They needed a cute teenager to keep the adolescent girls interested and they knew the fuggo kid was hopeless in that respect, so they found Leo.
Well if anyone would know about fake and phony, it would be non-actor Leo DiCaprio.
R30 I remember the interview from a long time ago as well. His exact quote was:
[quote]It was all so contrived. I got to know what I don't want to do. I had these lame lines-I couldn't bear it actually. Everyone was so bright and chipper. I'd go nuts if I had to do another sitcom.
I'm not really a Leo fan (don't care about him one way or the other), but I'm sure Kirk was one of the people he was thinking of when making that statement.
Wasn't Leo playing some homeless kid who family had abandoned/abused him or something like that? Not exactly a bright and chipper storyline.
R20 Robbie Marshall requesting Joanna Kerns play his mom in the movie.
That is how he met Tracy
Cameron is a self-hating homo. I look foraward to the day when he gets Larry Craiged in an airport mens room and tells everyone about his wide stance.
Is the BI fake?
R21 - Yes, Missy was on Benson, and is Tracey's older sister.
OK, enought about Missy! This thread is about Tracey!
Bravo to Tracey. And thank you!
Daddy, Alan Thicke said," I'm getting him some new books. The Old Testament can't be expected to explain everything." But David Holmes has the best: " Remember yesterday afternoon when Kirk Cameron's views were none of our concern? Let's restore America to that golden age."
Alan Thicke was on twitter and tweeted something that let you know he was disgusted as well.
I don't think anyone from the Growing Pains cast likes this asshole. I remember on E! True Hollywood story them talking about how he made the show a nightmare after he became "born again" and acted like he was above everyone.
Tracey and Missy Gold's younger sister Brandy was the creepy little girl in the original "V".
Kirk was actually a down to earth guy at the start of the show. But he partied heavily the first couple of years (drinking and maybe some drugs), and apparently got carried away enough to have some sort of ephiphany.
The producers claim he changed drastically over one summer hiatus, when he rediscovered religion. He came back more strict and not as laid back and fun loving as he used to be. He refused to do anything remotely risque and even called the producers "Pornographers" at one point over some storyline involving one of the characters having sex.
A blond actress was fired from the show (She played the unwed teenage mom on GOLDEN GIRLS) because she did Penthouse, and Kirk was extremely disgusted by it and demanded either she left or he did. Enter Chelsea Noble, whom he later married.
The Cameron family was always into religion, but Kirk went to the extreme. He thinks Darwin is a quack and that evolution doesn't exist. Candace is religious but a lot more down to earth and liberal in her beliefs.
Julie McCollough was the actress he wanted fired from the show.
Tracey's twitter avi is her No H8 picture. Her last tweet was "I am a strong supporter of the #LGBT Community, and I believe in equal rights for all. #NOH8 #LOVE"
What about her brother Benson who was on Missy?
What's this about a sister?
[quote]Leo was cast in GP only because the youngest son on the show (I forget his name), who was cute as a kid, had turned into such an ugly teenager TPTB on the show knew there was no teen idol potential for him. I'm the same age as Miller and remember him being cute when he became a teen. Much better looking than Cameron.
Another Alan Thicke tweet "I love Kirk but I may have to spank him...'tho not in a gay way!"
R50, that's your opinion and I'm sure there are a few others who'd agree, but overall, he wasn't considered a teen idol. Whereas Kirk was all over the teen mags and whatnot, Jeremy was not. He clearly wasn't the object of teen girls' affections. Leo was most certainly hired to attract the young girls who were over the aging Kirk and who weren't into Jeremy in the first place.
As a side note, I'm also about Jeremy's age and I always thought he was gross.
Thank you, Tracy! We need more people like her to speak out.
[quote]I'm the same age as Miller and remember him being cute when he became a teen. Much better looking than Cameron.
I'm also the same age and Miller was quite unfortunate-looking. Leo was cute as a button.
In R56's pic, it looks like Leo has a tiny, little head. Like, Beetlejuice. Leojuice.
R60, that's just because Jeremy's head is gigantic & Kirk's fro gives him an almost Frankenstein head.
That could be, R61. Good eye.
Kirk has been outed in several Bi's over the weekend as cruising Griffith Park for gay sex. And this is AFTER his born again stance.
The saying is ALWAYS true about those who doth protest too much.....
Isn't she a horrible drunk who had her kids taken from her?
Maura Tierney was on the show briefly. I think it was one of her first jobs. Anyway, I remember her slamming Cameron in an interview for being an absolute asshole. I wish I could find the quotes because they were hilarious.
R68 - This was on imdb "I was fired from "Growing Pains" (1985). Kirk Cameron and I weren't a good match."
Yeah, Tracey drove plastered, rolled her SUV, and nearly killed her husband and kids.
