Son of the Unexplained Mysteries Thread

One of my all-time favorites (it gives me the chills to think about the details) is "Who put Bella in the Wych-Elm?", one of the all-time great unsolved English murders. A mysterious body found high in a tree, with the corpse's hand found buried in the ground outside the tree: accusations of a coven execution, the creation of a "hand of Glory," and mysterious graffiti messages scrawled all over the Midlands for decades to come, demanding "Who put Bella in the wych-elm?"
