Anyone else? Swimmer's build is pretty hot IMHO. I don't go for the muscle thing at all.
Me too, OP!
Me, OP. Big shoulders and big hands count for more than defined abs. Usually when I see a so-called hot guy, he's fugly with an overly ripped body.
There's something about muscles that makes my mind and body go no. I was never into muscles and have often speculated on what exactly's so erotic about it all.
I like the look of a blue collar guy who is somewhat buff from his work but not defined enough to look like he spends all day staring at himself in the mirror in a gym. A wee bit of flab is appealing. A wee bit, that is.
don't swimmers usually have a six pack? There's toned and then there's beefy.
I love muscles - but that can range from the big bodybuilder type to the lean and toned swimmer or runner.
In other words, OP, the hot guys don't give you the time of day. Maybe if you lost a little weight?
r6 is moisturizing and plucking as he posts.
"I like the look of a blue collar guy who is somewhat buff from his work but not defined enough to look like he spends all day staring at himself in the mirror in a gym. A wee bit of flab is appealing. A wee bit, that is."
I prefer an Olympic wrestler build, 85kg
Sit on my face and I'll guess your weight!
Agree with R4 and R8, but also R5. Six-packs are great, but a little flab over muscle is fine as well. A little.
A fat ass is the way to my heart. I like feminine shaped dudes and they usually are not that muscly on top.
Too much muscle or too much fat turns me off. A bit of either or both is just fine.
I just know muscle is not going to last, and most of those men are overcompensating for something whether it be for tiny cock, or vapid personality. It looks too phony to me, which is why I've never found it to be a turn on. It's a cover-up. Just take care of your body.
R11, are you one of the womanly butt trolls, and do you also like Anthony Recker's body?
As long as you have a flat stomach, you don't need a six-pack. I do like a bit o' beef, but not beary.
I agree about the blue collar build. I love the look of road construction workers. Hot.....
Agreed, R13. Too much definition and I start to wonder how much time he spends working out as opposed to, say, reading.
There's a kind of Barbie doll ideal we as gays strive for and there's the comfy compromise we are glad to settle for.
[quote]There's toned and then there's beefy.
So "beefy" really just means "fatty"?
I like lots of guys. Beefy and swimmers top my list tho. I like guys with natural muscles or natural builds, according to their type. Abs are about the last thing I care about on a guy. Hell, he can have a gut as long as it's all in proportion.
Guys who look like they starve themselves or live at the gym? Never hot to me. And no guy past a certain age can maintain visible abs with an eating disorder and an exercise addiction.
Give me any guy comfortable with his body flaws over a body nazi ANY DAY. Body insecurity is very...unmanly.
[quote]So "beefy" really just means "fatty"?
If you're a raging cunt, maybe.
I think "beefy" means an emphasis on muscle building and general fitness versus extreme muscle definition or a narrowly-defined vanity goal, such as having a minimum number of visible abdominal muscles in natural repose.
I go to the gym to keep my stomach flat, among other goals. Not to look like I'm carved from marble.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
