- The youngsters in this thread can laugh all they want, but in the real world I'm a fit 53 year old who frequently gets mistaken for being in my late 20s and I get complimented on my cologne all of the time. The young guys I date love it. I don't know what's wrong with Datalounge youngsters that think anyone alive in the 80s should be sent to Carousel. In the real world, young guys love me and my cologne.
- Euphoria, but not after I use it up.
- "but in the real world I'm a fit 53 year old who frequently gets mistaken for being in my late 20s "
Daddy's pretty easy to butter up, y'all.

Oh, [italic]honey.[italic] Honey, honey, honey, honey.

- So what is it, r24?

The twenty something year olds must look like shit where you live. Meth-ylvania? Heroin-olina? Portland?

- Signature cologne or scent is basically the scent others would associate with you. Your mainstay.
- [quoute]So what is it, [R24]?
Self-Deluded, by Marc Jacobs.
- Does this put a stop to the italics? [/italic]
- [/quote]or this?
- Toilet Water! Unfortunately the toilet is at a rest stop on The New Jersey Turnpike.
- Vetiver by Guerlain
- Champs Elysees by Guerlain
24, Faubourg by Hermes
My mom was so thrilled when I told her I'd found perfume I'd wear that she has bought it for me for the last ten years. I get a Champs Elysees bottle of perfume, perfumed lotion, and shower gel for my birthday and the same in the Hermes scent for x-mas.
- Azzaro and Lanvin
- I split mine by summer and winter, so:
Summer: Acqua di Parma Colonia
Winter:Iris nobile
- I just pour some Fresca onto a panty shield, stick it into my jock, and I'm good to go.
- R24, why is it, exactly, that YOU aren't dating guys in their fifties? It's okay if you don't want to (sad, but okay). But why should anyone in his twenties?
- Everyone hates your cologne except you.
- so gay
- The first guy I ever hooked up with -- we were both 16, back in 1983 -- wore Polo. I know, I know, it's considered an abomination today, but to this day there's still no sexier fragrance to me than the memory of the smell of Polo on his skin.
I wore Drakkar Noir in the late 80s. To the extent that I ever had a "signature" fragrance, that was it.
- I switched from Chanel's Egoiste to Hermes Terre about 2 years ago. Egoiste really was my signature scent for years but I felt like a change.
- Aqua Velva
- I only wear cologne when I am going to be in close contact with family - so holidays, marriages, funerals - when there will be hugging; and even then it is just enough to be noticed up close.
Roger & Gallet, Paris Eue de Cologne for Summer - smells like citrus.
Dolce & Gabbana,in the winter.
I also have I Hate Purfume's Greenbriar 1968 which is a great scent for autumn.
One bottle of cologne will last years so I always buy the expensive stuff.
- My signature is my right armpit. The left one doesn't seem to have the same effect.
- Eau du stinky foot
- Dolce & Gabbana
- Geir Ness
- Loch Ness
- YSL Pour Homme, and Terre d'Hermes by Hermes.
My all time favorite, and thus signature, scent is Gucci Nobile, sadly discontinued.
- I'm down to about a quarter-bottle of my favorite Ben Sherman cologne and they don't make it anymore so when it's gone, it's gone. I also have Burberry London which I guess will become my new signature.
- FYI, only in the US does the term "Cologne" refer to all perfumes, and scents in general.
In Europe you'd never call an Eau de Toilette or an Eau de Parfume a "Cologne". Ever.
Only scents with a percentage of 5% perfume are called a "Cologne" (and they are consequently less strong, less expensive and less valuable than an EdT or EdP).
Unlike perfumes, the classic "Cologne" was established in the city of Cologne, in Germany. "4711" and "Farina Gegenueber" are the two original brands.
- Inis
I really like the smell of Zest soap. I wish they'd make a cologne out of it.
- work: Aqua Velva
Nighttime: Jovan Musk
People rave over my scent
- R55 - Get her. Most of us live in the US and it's called cologne here.
- R57 I like the smell of Agua Vela aftershave, it reminds me of my Dad. I would never wear it, but I like it on other men.
- Eau de Pissior
Irma La Douche
- This post is one of the gayest things I've ever read on DL. "Signature Cologne"?
Mary!

- My favourite scent on me is salt water and sun. They haven't bottled it yet. If I wear anything at all, it is Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani.

- Seriously though I don't use cologne because I have a nasty reaction to perfumes and colognes. They give me a splitting headache. I know a lot of people who have the same reaction.
So I use body oils instead. Organic ones that aren't oil based. They come in natural scents like coconut, lime, peach, orange, mint, vanilla, and a few others.
The oils are so fine that they spray. I spray it on my forearms and rub it in. When people are close enough to smell it I always get a compliment. I guess most people like a nice smelling scent that is real.
- For work: Chrome by Azzaro
For play: Soir by Bulgari

Honey, most of us on this forum are in the US, and we do not aspire to be European, shocking as that may sound to you.
Get over yourself.
- Egyptian Musk Oil
Mia
- R14, R15, R53 and R67, you smell good!
- Light Blue by D&G
- Long ago when I was interested in cologne, and it was pretty moderate- I did like Givenchy Vetiver (sp?)- and Guerlaine (sp?) Vetiver. I also liked Geoffrey Beane's Grey Flannel- even before the other two.
Now I guess none of it enters my mind. My scent is whatever skin lotion is nearby.
I still have some old bottles of the stuff I think- perhaps in the last 10 years from time to time I have slashed on some Bay Rum that one of my sisters gave me. I kind of like it.
Signature? Nope, just mild interest in stuff I thought smelled nice. As I said, now none of it occurs to me. The D & G ads with McBongo in them are very weird. Very weird. HE is very weird.

- Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I am hoping you bitches can help me.
I've been wearing Diesel Masculine for 5 or 6 years, and I liked it - it had some interesting notes without being overwhelming, and was clean smelling without being too citrus-y.
But they've discontinued it. Any suggestions on what I should try that's similar?
- I like the smell of a nice deodorant soap. Why can't they make deodorant soap, anti-perspirant, and body spray/cologne all in the same fragrance? (And I mean a standard soap fragrance--e.g., Dial, Safeguard, Coast-- and not a perfumey one.)
- [quote]in the real world I'm a fit 53 year old who frequently gets mistaken for being in my late 20s
Oh, I bet you do.

- I like scent by Penhaligon's of London. I wear two: Endymion in the nighttime, and English Fern during the day. I only wear them on special occasions.

- Have a fetish for colognes and body lotions. In the 80's, during my twink years, it was Joop!, Drakkar Noir, Grey Flannel, Channel pour Homme, et Eau Sauvage.
Castro bars used to smell like Polo, tobacco, spilled beer, piss, and regret.
In the late 80's and early 90's, the Paris Metro smelled like one particular Parfum, kind of citrusy, very sexy, but never figured out which one it was.
In the 90's it was Contradiction, which still smells like sex to me.
In the 2000's and beyond, wearing fragrances in public fell out of favor in the SF Bay Area due to the so-called chemical sensitive Mary hypochondriacs, so I've had to cut back. At formal events, I wear Guerlin Vetiver in Winter or La Coste in Summer.
I adore smelling cologne on men. Still makes me hard. Can't stand most girly perfumes on women. Males should smell handsome, cute, and frivolous. Women should smell like strength and determination.
- [quote]I adore smelling cologne on men. Still makes me hard.
And yet, somehow the first of your sentences is an instant dick wilter.

- I like Curve for men and Elizabeth Taylor's Passion for men. I love the faint smell of a nice cologne on a man. And by that I mean when you are standing within inches of him and you get a little scent of a nice cologne. That same cologne on a guy that you can smell from 10 feet away is horrible. I always spray a little cologne on my shirt about an hour before I leave for work and at least two or three hours before I go out on the weekends. I like to smell nice but I don't want the cologne to be the first thing someone notices about me. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.
- Eau de Taint.
- Lemon Pledge for those sunny summer days
Old Spice for those hot nights on the docks
- Eau Sauvage by Christian Dior
