Jean Dujardin

This French actor is the toast of Hollywood right now and a shoo-in for an Oscar nomination for "The Artist."

He's incredibly handsome.

Another great photo of him. He has old-time matinee idol looks.

He's 39, r2.

by Anonymousreply 3November 26, 2011 12:31 AM

He resembles Gene Kelley a bit.

His teeth are jacked up and yellow, which prevents him from being truly handsome.

by Anonymousreply 4November 26, 2011 12:31 AM

Reminds me of a young Robson Green (my fantasy lover).

Any other typical responses, like R2, we can just get out of the way?

by Anonymousreply 6November 26, 2011 12:59 AM

He was wonderfully funny in a q&a following a screening of THE ARTIST a few weeks ago. He had an interpreter with him and spoke only occasionally in English because he's not fluent in it. He was beyond charming.

by Anonymousreply 7November 26, 2011 2:29 AM

Has anybody else seen him in the OSS 117 movies? The first one, OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies, is uproariously hilarious and Dujardin is magnificent.

by Anonymousreply 8November 26, 2011 2:43 AM

Mark my words, all you will be hearing about for months is Jean Dujardin. His work in "The Artist" is stupendous!

by Anonymousreply 9November 26, 2011 2:57 AM

Nothing gets you queens going like a French accent. No wonder someone saw it necessary to coin the phrase "arriviste trash."

by Anonymousreply 10November 26, 2011 3:13 AM

He's average looking. Good actor, though.

by Anonymousreply 11November 26, 2011 3:17 AM
No wonder someone saw it necessary to coin the phrase "arriviste trash."

LOL

Redundant much?

by Anonymousreply 12November 26, 2011 3:18 AM

I'd fuck him.

by Anonymousreply 13November 26, 2011 3:21 AM

LOVED "OSS: Nest of Spies"

Wasn't crazy about the second one (can't even remember the name.) But there's a great sequence in which Dujardin gets his naked ass rubbed up (or down?) by another guy.

But "Nest of Spies" is, really, one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

by Anonymousreply 14November 26, 2011 7:57 AM

You forgot something from MHB and something about a moist "mussy", R6. Besides that, job well done.

by Anonymousreply 15November 26, 2011 8:04 AM

OSS: Nest of Spies was very entertaining. And, in spite of the fact that Dujarding would normally not be the type I'd go for, I found him inexplicably hot in that movie. I haven't seen the one set in Rio.

Average.

by Anonymousreply 18November 26, 2011 12:27 PM

He's welcome especially since it looks like he'll subvert Brad Pitt's pr-driven nomination push.

by Anonymousreply 19November 26, 2011 12:37 PM

I like his face. His bod is fine, he's got a little paunch which I find endearing. I love French men. Out of all the places I've been, I think French men are the most handsome.

by Anonymousreply 20November 26, 2011 12:38 PM

they're also nice and ripe, R20. None of that sissy deodorant stuff!

Like all mediocre things, the French name makes him desirable.

by Anonymousreply 23November 26, 2011 12:48 PM
He's 39, R2.

But that translates as 58 1/2 in DL years.

by Anonymousreply 24November 26, 2011 1:21 PM

Also loved "Nest of Spies"... First saw it on IFC or Sundance and one of the funniest moments was when he cursed out the muezzin with the f-bomb (via the subtitles of course). In the DVD the 'titles substitute "Shut your goddam mouth".

by Anonymousreply 25November 26, 2011 1:44 PM

I eat shit.

by Anonymousreply 26November 26, 2011 1:58 PM

He's balding and looks like sleazy eurotrash with that slicked back hair. Pass!

by Anonymousreply 27November 26, 2011 2:04 PM

He looks like Kevin Costner. As a Frenchman, one can assume his English accent will be equally deplorable.

by Anonymousreply 28November 26, 2011 2:10 PM

I can't wait to see this movie!

by Anonymousreply 29November 26, 2011 2:15 PM

I liked what he said in his q&a about not doing any Hollywood movie with huge special effects because they're "soulless."

by Anonymousreply 30November 26, 2011 2:39 PM

I bet he has a wonderfully smelly uncut French cock.

by Anonymousreply 31November 26, 2011 2:42 PM

This is hot??? Wouldn't look at him twice on the streets of Chelsea. As a matter of fact, wouldn't waste my time looking at him at all.

by Anonymousreply 32November 26, 2011 2:45 PM

He's French. You know what that means. Heavy B.O. Doesn't wipe completely. And enough cheese under his thick, heavy foreskin to make grilled cheese sandwiches for a whole town.

by Anonymousreply 33November 26, 2011 3:14 PM

RE: R32

It's sad when balding, chubby flyover queens attempt to sound sophisticated.

by Anonymousreply 34November 26, 2011 3:15 PM

Which one of you whores would eat his fromage du penis?

by Anonymousreply 35November 26, 2011 3:45 PM

He doesn't need to wipe completely, most likely uses a bide.

by Anonymousreply 36November 26, 2011 8:21 PM

Saw the film today. It's incredible. He's very charming.

by Anonymousreply 37November 27, 2011 12:41 AM

People, Jean Dujardin is super sexy.

Look how hot he is in the NYTs feature! Nice body.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 38December 12, 2011 8:06 PM

WHo is everyone supposed to be in that feature, r38? I only got Bonnie from Bonnie and Clyde, Nurse Ratchett, Eraserhead, and (presumably) the Invisible Man.

by Anonymousreply 39December 12, 2011 8:33 PM

So will Hollywood allow him to win the deserved Oscar over homegrown stars like Brad Pitt or Leo DiCaprio?

by Anonymousreply 40December 21, 2011 4:40 PM

They did for Marion Cotillard, so anything is possible.

by Anonymousreply 41December 21, 2011 4:45 PM

George Clooney is another Hollywood fav who will probably get nominated. I doubt any of the Americans can hold a candle in acting to Dujardin this year, but politics (read Harvey Weinstein) is often at play in deciding who wins Oscar and one of the above Americans may be deemed ready for Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 42December 21, 2011 4:57 PM

I would imagine Harvey is busy at this very minute politicking for The Artist. Having Harvey behind him (no, not in that way) and almost unanimous critical raves, I think Dujardin has a fighting chance of winning the Academy Award for best actor.

by Anonymousreply 43December 21, 2011 5:11 PM

R39, I think the chick with the Louise Brooks haircut is supposed to be Uma Thurman in PULP FICTION.

Kirsten Dunst is supposed to be Eve?

The blond chick with the axe reminds me of Meryl Streep in DEATH BECOMES HER. Even the music is similar.

by Anonymousreply 44December 21, 2011 5:23 PM

Ew, he's 39? That's, like, [bold]OLD[/bold].

by Anonymousreply 45December 21, 2011 5:30 PM

I saw him in The Artist last week and it is probably the best film I have seen in the past ten years. I hope he gets nominated for best actor because he deserves it.

In The Artist, he reminded my of Gene Kelly. In the clips I have seen of OSS, he reminds me more of Peter Sellers playing Jacques Clouseau.

I think he's very talented and very sexy.

by Anonymousreply 46December 21, 2011 6:26 PM

You girls must all live in the sticks. There is so much buzz around this film, he's a shoo-in for Best Actor and is pretty much the front runner. The buzz is so strong it looks like his co-star is going to get a Best Supporting Actress nod and The Artist is a serious contender for Best Picture and perhaps Best Director (take that Fincher).

Does anyone here ever read The Hollywood Reporter or do you all really just sit around in your basements fancying yourselves the makers of received opinion?

by Anonymousreply 47December 21, 2011 7:48 PM

No, some of us follow the Oscar buzz religiously, but I, personally, have my reservations about the chances of a French, silent, black & white film winning Best Picture. It's gonna have to be a surprise blockbuster to do it (I'd say a minimum gross of $65 million by Oscar night). I know the Oscar prognosticators are predicting The Artist or The Descendants for Best Pic, but I think it's gonna be The Help, with The Artist helmer Michel Hazanavicius taking Best Director.

by Anonymousreply 48December 21, 2011 11:07 PM

No. Not at all.

by Anonymousreply 49December 21, 2011 11:12 PM

Just got back from seeing The Artist. Dujardin is fantastic, definitely the superior of Clooney or DiCaprio; only Pitt comes close to Dujardin's excellence.

by Anonymousreply 50December 26, 2011 10:50 PM

I just saw The Artist, as well. Loved him, hated the girl. The movie was interesting but didn't blow me away.

by Anonymousreply 51December 26, 2011 11:06 PM

Saw the film too. He has a lot of sex appeal. Within minutes on screen, I was thinking he was incredibly charming and sexy. Great smile. I don't usually swoon, but my my my.

by Anonymousreply 52December 26, 2011 11:47 PM

Loved him but did not care much for the film or his costar.

But I'll certainly be watching out for Jean's next endeavors.

by Anonymousreply 53December 26, 2011 11:56 PM

He looks like he stinks. I'm imagining wafts of Old Spice and Brylcreem. Gross.

by Anonymousreply 54December 27, 2011 12:16 AM

Saw it yesterday. He reminded me of Frederic March in A STAR IS BORN. The film itself is a ripoff of STAR meets SINGIN' IN THE RAIN. Okay, but not the dazzling achievment they are claiming. And wtf is with using the Bernard Herrmann score from VERTIGO for the climax? Not even a pseduo-Herrmann, it's the real thing.

by Anonymousreply 55December 27, 2011 1:20 AM

Penelope Ann Miller is utterly unrecognizable as Jean's matronly wife and that is not a good thing.

by Anonymousreply 56December 27, 2011 2:07 AM

kinda strange seeing all the hollywood stuff going on about dujardin now because for years he was known in france mainly for hiw role in a little show (only about 3 mins long) which came on each night right before the 8PM news on France 2. it was a cute show about nothing really but featured just him and the actress who played his wife. it was very funny and was basically just skits about everyday stuff. any other characters in the show would only be shown off to the side, or from the back... you'd never actually see their faces.

by Anonymousreply 57December 27, 2011 10:13 AM

The OSS films are on Netflix. I'm surprised how sexy he is. Beefy, hairy body and big nips.

Love the homoerotic scenes in Nest of Spies!

by Anonymousreply 62January 30, 2012 10:59 PM

You twinks make me sick. He's the sexiest man I've seen in years! Just saw the Descendants and if George Clooney-- sooooo over him, he is looking OLD, and is in no way up to the challenges of that role-- wins the Oscar over Dujardin it will truly be a travesty.

Posters for his new movie

The posters featuring Dujardin and his costar are being branded as sexist

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 65February 2, 2012 11:34 PM

To deflect from the sexism accusations they need to do another poster that has their roles flipped, with Jean's legs up in the air. Seriously, THEY NEED TO DO THAT.

by Anonymousreply 66February 2, 2012 11:42 PM

He needs to shave, stat. Why do people find these smarmy narcissists like Dujardin, Jon Hamm and Clooney remotely appealing?!! They probably all STINK of cologne!

by Anonymousreply 67February 2, 2012 11:43 PM

Foul.

by Anonymousreply 68February 3, 2012 12:12 AM

The French Jon Hamm. Hotter than fuck. And that's what I thought when I saw it R66.

by Anonymousreply 72February 3, 2012 1:01 AM

He's so not the type I'd generally go for but when I first saw him in that OSS: Cairo movie a couple of years ago I thought he was hot as hell.

by Anonymousreply 73February 3, 2012 1:30 AM

I'd love to suck his cock on Oscar night.

by Anonymousreply 74February 3, 2012 11:16 AM

"Average."

We should all be so "average."

The man is obviously handsome and according to interviewers, quite charming. A nice package.

by Anonymousreply 75February 3, 2012 1:58 PM

There is no way he is only 39. Looks late 40s, early 50s.

by Anonymousreply 76February 3, 2012 2:19 PM

R76 should look in a mirror sometime.

Nest of Spies was a little too slapstick for me. I liked the Rio OSS more - more plot.. and a little gay too! It's funny The Artist actor and director made these good not great James Bond spoofs heretofore. Jean has a dreamy smile.

by Anonymousreply 83March 4, 2015 3:44 AM

Wow, his career has just.... exploded since "The Artist."

by Anonymousreply 84March 4, 2015 3:51 AM

THE ARTIST was just an amalgam of SINGIN' IN THE RAIN and A STAR IS BORN.

If it did not have the gimmicks of being black/white and silent, no one would've thought much of it.

IT certainly wouldn't have been nominated for 10 Oscars and won 5, including Best Picture.

R88, he costars with Gilles Lellouche in a movie called The Players, about two friends who pride themselves on their promiscuity even though both are married.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

At the end of the movie they end up with each other and there's a simulated buttfucking scene. Dujardin's the bottom. The Players is available on Netflix streaming now. I just watched it last night.
