I'm camping out in front of the Apple Store right now
First in line! Woo hoo! Can't wait till Friday. I really want a good deal on the iPad. Maybe I'll buy more than one to sell on eBay. Wish me luck!

- It's not that he cheapens everyone else's time by willingly jumping through corporate hoops to save a few pennies, it's that his vote is worth the same as mine.
- I am so tired of the Apple's freakishly devoted fangurls. Especially after reading what a DBag Jobs was.
- Time spent waiting in line from Wednesday morning to Friday morning: 48 hours.
Amount saved on an iPad: $41
Apparently OP values their time at just under eight-six cents an hour.
- You will not find me withing 100 feet of any retail outlet on Friday or Sat or Sun. I cannot stand shopping, particularly when mad maniac shopper are out in droves. I'd rather walk on nails.

- Apple's 'sales' are the same prices they charge in their education store, which I can access because I'm a student anyway. Never mind that Apple stuff is waaaay overpriced to begin with. Not that I'm gonna go Microsoft anytime soon. Just sayin'.
- The Xmas shopping season has always been obscene, but until the rise of all this Black Friday nonsense there was at least the pretense that people were going shopping to buy gifts to give to others. Now it's all about ladies sleeping out for a week because they want a big flat screen TV for themselves. Or, you know, an iPad.
- Do they wear adult diapers or are they allowed to get out of line to use a bathroom? I can't imagine dealing with something like this.
- Same here R5. I'd much rather pay a bit more than deal with crowds.
- If you wait fifty hours to save $200 dollars, that means you consider your time to be worth $4 per hour. That's a bit more than HALF of the minimum wage. Is that all your time is worth? Really?
- I'm with charlie. I dislike shopping anyway, but the Black Friday nonsense is insane - I will not be anywhere near a store.
Thank god for online shopping. A few clicks from the comfort of your own home and you're done - I don't know how I lived without it.
- We're tenting tonight on the old campground.
- How's it going, OP?
- OP froze to death but died doing what he loved.
- Occupy APPLE
- And when I feel depressed and feel like I am going nowhere in life, there are people that do this. I then feel good.
- OP, so, what are you doing for Thanksgiving, then? Sitting in front of an Apple store? They need to create a new word for moron.
- Did you get a good deal on anything?
- I got a good deal on my iPad but someone stole my MacBook Air. It was right by my head and when I woke up, it was gone. Someone literally stole it from under my nose. Thank god they didn't take my iPhone 4S but I had that in my pocket inside my sleeping bag. I couldn't even give a police report until Friday afternoon since I didn't want to lose my place in line. But I really don't think the police have any leads yet :(

- I am reminded of this video:

- Waiting in line for Black Friday iPad Mini!
- The next big thing is already here.
I feel sorry for all the "creative" Apple fangurls.
Samsung
- Enjoying my Nokia 920... which has a bigger, brighter, sharper, faster screen than the iPhone... more sensitive (can use it with gloves)... with a vastly superior camera... built in NFC... And a UI/OS that allows me to do most things much faster than I could on an iPhone. Oh yeah, and it has a standard micro-USB port on it. And vastly superior speakers.
Yes, it's heavier and bigger. I like the bigger because I have large hands, and I like the bigger screen because I'm over 40 and it's easier to read. And it's SOLID. With my iPhone 4, I was always terrified I might drop it and it'd shatter. I *needed* a case, which... once the case is added... it's not much thinner or lighter than my Nokia 920, which simply doesn't need a case. I could drop this thing a dozen times and it wouldn't even scratch.
And I'm free of that god-awful iTunes monstrosity! I get free streaming of the entire XBox Music collection (comparable to the iTunes music collection). And did I mention the UI is much more beautiful? Especially while playing music?
I now lead an apple-free lifestyle, and I couldn't be happier.
- Samsung steals everything from Apple. They've already lost a huge lawsuit over it. Suck it, R22. You're full of shit.
- These Apple fangurls are sensitive bitches, aren't they?
Samsung
- Waiting in line at Apple is no worse than camping in line overnight to see Twilight or Hunger Games or Harry Potter.
Anomynous%20
- R22 = brainwashed dumbass who can't think of anything original except to regurgitate Samsung's ad tagline.
- [quote]Waiting in line at Apple is no worse than camping in line overnight to see Twilight or Hunger Games or Harry Potter.
Admittedly. But that's not saying it's not stupid and lame and pathetic. Quite the opposite.
- Crap Apple products are to the cult morons what cakes and pies are to fat office fraus.
- [quote] Crap Apple products
Apple products are by no stretch "crap" even if you don't like them. Otherwise, they wouldn't be so successful and loved by millions. And other manufacturers would not be falling all over themselves trying to copy them with their poseur devices.
Anomynous%20
- There was a time when everyone was copying Apple. But Apple has completely stagnated.
I loved my iPhone 3G. When I got the 4, I was kinda bored. iOS 5 and 6 were both rather boring updates. The iPhone 5? Even MORE boring. They're coasting.
Other phone manufacturers and OSs have completely leap-frogged Apple. Apple is suceeding wildly on inertia right now, not innovation. That won't last forever.
Android, or even WP8, are more fun and interesting, with more features and capabilities.
The highest resolution screen, the brightest display, the fastest OS, and features like NFC, are all not found on iOS/iPhone any more. While it is the thinnest and lightest... there are limits and most people are beyond caring at this point. Technically impressive as it may be, it's not a criterea most people have in their top five or ten things.
iMessage is a mess. Siri is a parlor trick when it's not a joke. Their maps are buggy as hell and lacking in major features and functionality. And it's One Size Fits All... no choices, really. It's become like that old Wendy's commercial from the 80s with Soviet fashion show... everyone has the same thing, it all looks the same, ... and it's all very boring.
- For those who have never seen the commercial:
