Is Chris Martin an asshole?

He seems like a nice guy in interviews, but he IS married to Gwyneth Paltrow, so.....

• He's actually very nice. TOO nice, and is very much bitch whipped. Typical "nice guy" who let's his wife wear the pants.

• I always had the impression that Chris is just a precocious, high-wired ADD-ish kid that never grew up. A Peter Pan-type thing. He was also spoiled and pampered by his parents. No way is he at the asshole level of the Gallagher brothers. I think he's a pretty decent guy at heart. And who can judge one's attraction to another person? He felt he hit the jackpot with Paltrow, but the hate for this woman is so intense on this board that no one can see that. As for Paltrow, I think Chris is more of a comfort to her than anything. This is a wman who was deeply in love with her father and very close with her brother. Marriage is an extension of that family romance. Almost eeire how her brother Jake resembles Chris:

• He was on Colbert last week. I thought he was very likeable and funny.

• Howard Stern interviewed him for 1 1/2 hours this week. I never liked him although I like their music. I have to say he came across as a VERY nice man. I really have changed my opinion of him after this interview on Howard TV. His voice also sounded great when he sang a few songs.

• Here's him explaining how he came up with "yello". He claims it started out as a Neil Young impression, and he soon realized the song had something. He sings part of it too.

• Just watched them on SNL last night. He is the most ridiculous dancer I've ever seen. As a previous poster said, "ADD" indeed. Very cute though, because after dancing like a maniac through the end of the song, he gets this big grin like a goofy kid.

• Coldplay is a good band. The sad thing is that they want to be Radiohead and U2, which they will never be, but, frankly, they write more accessible music than either.

• Chris Martin and Gwynnie used to workout at my gym about 10 years ago (Greenwich Ave. Equinox in the West Village). I ran into both of them on multiple occasions. However, the one specific memory that I have of Chris is when he came into the gym one day looking like he crawled out of bed and hadn't showered in 4 days. Now this is the weird part, on the mat where people stretch out, he got changed into his gym clothes from his street clothes. Everyone acted like it was perfectly normal, but it was totally creepy, especially when there is a perfectly good locker room. I remember looking at him with his ratty shorts, torn t-shirt combined with black socks and Converse sneakers. I also remember very pale skin, and nasty looking facial hair. He was relatively loud and enjoyed calling attention to himself. He was very British. Again....uggghh. After his workout, he used the same mat to change back into his street clothes; no shower of course. So, every time I think of him, I think, "dirty".
