A friend of mine was diagnosed with shingles this morning. The thing is, from what I''ve read, shingles is usually only something older people get (over 60) or those with HIV - of which she is neither. So it seems odd that she would get this being that she is younger. The doctor told her it''s very contagious and she pretty much has to stay indoors.\ \ Has anyone ever gotten this being younger (under 40)?\ \ How did it go? Were you in prolonged pain? She is in quite a bit of pain now, but I heard the pain can get worse as the rash heals. She was also given some really weird drugs that can have bad side effects - extreme drugs for depression that I''ve never even heard of until google, which is suppose to help the virus in her nerves (she isn''t depressed)\ \ Anyway, anyone have experience with this kind of thing?
