I was ready to argue, but my other favorites from Green Day are all from the 90s.
Green Day is so fucking criminally underrated that it practically makes me sick.\
I believe that Jesus of Suburbia will go down as The Wall of the 2000s. That song, and the entire album that came with it, is a classic.
I cant tell you how many times I will be at work listening to music and hear a song I like, look to see who it is, and it''s Green Day. Their music is consistently so good, yet their sound is different enough each time that I would never be tempted to say, "oh, another typical Green Day song". Thank you for posting this OP
Song sounds romantic
Who would have thought that Green Day would be the one 90s band (besides Radiohead) that is still relevant?
The ghost of Kurdt Kobain
It never actually does anything or goes anywhere, and the detachment of the vocals as he focuses on sounding like a ballad vocalist makes it sound like a rehearsal. But if you like it, OP, that''s nice. I like Green Day.\
And they''re on Broadway, just like Billy Joel!
It sound like something you''d hear on LITE FM radio. Yuck.
@R8, it doesn''t have to go anywhere, because it''s just a simple, stripped down ballad that showcases BJ''s incredible range and songwriting.\
@9, stop hating. This wasn''t even a single, it was a cut buried deep into the amazing concept album that was 21st Century Breakdown.
When it comes to lyrics, BJA really needs an editor if not a partner. He can''t steer clear of cliches. \

Out of body and out of mind
Y''all need to se e"American Idiot." The performance of this song has a projected graphic of thousands of pieces of paper flying up.\
Reminds me of 9/11. (Wake me when it''s over).
Personally, 21st Century Breakdown is, in my opinion, one of their worst albums; possibly because the ideas are recycled American Idiot, and the music is, frankly, poor compared even to Warning (and the reviewers hated that when it came out). \
Green Day isn''t about the music or the message any more, it''s about kids buying into the hype and it maks me so fucking sad. Still, better Green Day that Justin Bieber, I guess...
I love Green Day and agree that they''re completely underappreciated.%0D\
I didn''t get to see American Idiot on Broadway and it looks like the National tour is pretty limited, to a dozen or so cities. I''ll try to catch it though.
they''re not unappreciated, they had a fucking Broadway show devoted to their crap music.
OP - terrible fan video, nice song.
The Beatles. Free as a Bird. That''s all I can say.
Bless your hearts, but GD is terrifically over-rated. I like anthemic *cough* ballads as much as the next person (see: U2). Every douchebag and hausfrau loves them some Green Day. \
@8, well put: And they''re on Broadway, just like Billy Joel!\
Sorry, no. OP needs perspective.
