- Piper, hands down (no pun intended). What glorious hair she had! Plus, Holly acted rings around anyone else on the show.
- Piper was a fucking CUNT!
SD
- [quote]Piper was a fucking CUNT!\
\
Only from the 4th season on...\
\
She was actually sweet and likeable the first three seasons (when Shannen was around).
- Holly Marie Combs is a godess.\
\
Piper became the big bossy older sister after Prue died.
- This was Shannen Doherty''s return to series TV.\
\
Believe it or not, Shannen didn''t want to return the grind of series TV. (She also happens to be best friends with Holly Marie and was instrumental in Holly getting cast).\
\
However Aaron Spelling wanted Shannen in the lead. So it was negotiated she receive a percentage of the show''s profits in perpetuity.\
\
Even after she was fired, Shannen still owns a piece of the show and all profits from syndication and DVD sales.
- They really should have kept Doherty and 86''ed Milano. Was she supposed to be a younger Samantha Jones or something? She spread her legs for a new man every other week on that show.\
\
I liked Rose (but not with the red hair).
- I remember being so distracted by Holly Marie Combs'' bad nose job and flaring nostrils I could never really watch the show.
- Does Leo count?
- It took Holly took long to fix her eyebrow.
- Drew Fuller was the only reason Datalounge watched that show.
- I couldn''t watch it because it was so unrealistic. Demons could just appear in their house at any moment and they had to shoot them with beams out of their hands to kill them? How could you ever relax at home? What if a demon appeared while you''re in the shower? while you''re on the toilet? while you''re sleeping? You would be constantly on edge but they didn''t seem to be. They seemed carefree. So unrealistic as to how someone would act in that situation.
- I liked both Drew Fuller and Brian Krause (Leo).

I''d fuck Drew Fuller and Brian Krause very hard! Any gossip on them?
- Brian Krause (before he got fat) and JULIAN McMAHON (before he shaved his body hair)!
- Brian did pack on the pounds. So did Holly, even before she got pregnant, but she looked hot with a fuller body.
- I need a SD fix.
- Brian lost a ton of weight for the final season. He looked damned fine in Season 8.
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100627102403/charmed/images/7/7b/Leo_Season_8.2.jpg
- R17, you watched the final season?
- But look how OLD he looked in that photo, R17.
- The first three seasons were best.
- Wanna see my impersonation of an average Charmed episode...\
\
"Leo."\
\
"Leo."\
\
"LEO!"\
\
"Leeeeeeeeeeee-o."
- what happened to HMC''s eyebrow? i didn''t realize she had it fixed. was it a scar from an accident?
- Holly really has aged.
- Holly looks older, but I think she looks good. Milano still looks great. McGowan looked great until she got unnecessary work done and now she looks bad. But Doherty has aged horribly. She looks old and haggard and has for a while now.
- The show jumped the shark when Prue left.
Shannen owns a percentage of the show, so she is set for life.
- TNT is airing the Doherty episodes now and it is vastly superior to the later seasons.
- R26 that was when the original creator Constance Burg was still calling the shots.
Once she left, along with Shannen, the show became a supernatural soap.
The first three years with Shannen were the best. She played the big sister very well.
- Burge ran the first 2 seasons and then Brad Kern took over in season 3. I thought that was when the show really got good. The seasons with Burge were basically monster of the week storylines. It was Kern who added season long arcs and ongoing storylines.
- [quote] It was Kern who added season long arcs and ongoing storylines.
Which was Shannen's complaint. She was not happy with that direction.
- I also like the first seasons with Shannon. I also like it if the storyline is completed in one episode and is "simple" which was the case in the earlier episodes.
Holly was the most gorgeous one IMHO.
- Loved Shannen and Prue. Phoebe/ALyssa looked like a cheap whore. Haaaaate.
- Squinty, "The Craft" theme, and the house - in that order.
Pru should have eaten her sisters' hearts to absorb their power. It would have been a better, more realistic show.
- I could never figure out why they used The Smiths for theme music, then had no reference to gay people in the show.
Bait and switch.
- Show sucked after SD left. Also, it would have been better for syndication to avoid the arcs but all of TV has been arc-crazy for around 15 years now. Even sitcoms have arcs now! (See the loathesome "How I Met Your Mother.")
- I gave up on Chramed when that blond whore from TBBT joined as a regular.
- What's wrong with arcs?
The show lasted eight years, which is a long time by today's standards.
- I think they all look good. Just remember that they're around 40. We can't expect them to look young forever. XD
Personally I liked Piper and Phoebe best, but I did miss the serious action from the first three seasons. After Paige came it felt like she added more comedy.
- Alyssa still looks like she's in her 20s, or at worse early 30s.
- Nope, she looks like the old hag she is.
- r11, what were you expecting from a show about 3 witches? Southland or some other gritty realism.
I liked it until Prue got killed. Then I kinda lost interest.
- Are you serious? She's gorgeous.
- I just rewatched Primose Empath from the third season. Prue tries to help a shut in Empath, but he turns out to be a demon who gives Piper the curse if the Empath.
Fun show, and the charmed ones looked great in their midriff revealing outfits.
- The show was never the same after Prue left. I really felt that was when it jumped the shark.
- HMC may have had her eyebrow fixed, but she really should have had her teeth fixed.
Those lower choppers and her underbite were horrible and distracting.
Julian MacMahon was my favorite - HOT HOT HOT!
http://www3.images.coolspotters.com/photos/142988/julian-mcmahon-and-charmed-gallery.jpg
- R44 - I don't mind Holly's teeth.
Speaking of Julian, he and Sandra Bullock were excellent in Premonition.
- From season 3, perhaps the best season

- [quote]Drew Fuller was the only reason Datalounge watched that show.
Bullshit. I watched for Brian Krause, Greg Vaughan, Dorian Gregory and Julian McMahon.
- Penelope "Grams" Halliwell
- From the last season

- [quote]I could never figure out why they used The Smiths for theme music
It's Love Spit Love's version of The Smiths' "How Soon Is Now?" The Love Spit Love version was actually in the film "The Craft", which came out before CHARMED. I tend to think CHARMED was inspired by "The Craft".
Witches, witches EVERYWHERE!
- " I tend to think CHARMED was inspired by "The Craft"." The timing is right, R50.
- Buffy had hit a few months prior and X-Files was still going strong. Supernatural storylines were "in" and Charmed fit the mold perfectly.
- My fave person was probably Phoebs, although she had perhaps the lamest powers.
Aar.
- Piper's freezing was a cool power.
- R52 - Buffy the movie was well before The Craft.
- Y, but the Buffy film was hardly the success that the TV show was and the WB wanted another supernatural show to air.
- What did you think of Leo (Brian Krause)?
- I was bummed to hear Ralph Garman who played P3s DJ say that Rose was a massive bitch. He said Shannon was too but that Rose managed to be a bigger one which is a frightening thought. I guess it turns out any woman who dates a member of Marilyn Manson's band turns out to be a malevolent cunt because Alyson Hannigan who is said to have been the uber slag on the Buffy set dated Twiggy Ramirez from his band as well...I hope Dita Von Teese is nice.
- [quote]the Buffy film was hardly the success that the TV show was
The Buffy movie is everything the TV show was not--fun, colorful, and acessorized with Luke Perry. I loved the Buffy movie--saw it twice in the theater. It instantly takes me back to the summer of 1992 when I was a sixteen year-old with not a care in the world.
- r58, If you're familiar with Rose McGowan's career, this is not a surprise.
- Start of season 6
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100926005145/charmed/images/1/13/6x01-Sisters-Valkyries.jpg
- [R58] Rose isn't even hot anymore either. She had her face messed with and now she looks a mess!
Also forgot to add, Charmed had one of the best theme songs ever! "How Soon Is Now". I actually always thought that particular song was almost too serious for the dramedy style of Charmed, but still a very good song.
Aar.
- R62, it's Love Spit Love's version of How Soon is Now?, which was originally used in the film "The Craft", which I think was the inspiration for "Charmed".
- Interesting that so many think that after Shannen left, the series went downhill.
I thought the same thing and I remember reading how a lot of the writers and production staff commented that when Shannen was on the show, they'd get pissed at her because she would open her mouth and tell them what she thought worked and what didn't work. They said she was a hassle and would make them rewrite stuff so things would at least seem more realistic, etc. They'd get pissed at her and then realize after the fact she was right.
After she left, the show totally went downhill and campy and I wonder if Shannen ever felt any vindication and laughed at the rest of them.
- Horrible show. Horrible acting. None of the sisters, except maybe Rose, is an actress in any way. Horrible scripts. A third-rate Buffy.
Worst, although the show took place in San Francisco, there were never any gays on it. How can you live in SF and not run into a gay even now and then?
Homophobic piece of crap.
- The house that MJ and the zombies corner Ola Rae in in "Thriller" is in the same LA neighborhood as the CHARMED house...it's a couple of houses down from it, to be exact.
http://blog.modernica.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/michael_jackson_thriller_house_video_location.jpg
- They could have brought Shannenack in the final episode. Have her be the sisters' new Whitelighter since Leo became human.
But the producer said he didn't want the final episode to be all about Shannen.
That's dumb since it would have added a nice bookend to the show.
Apparently in the ongoing comic, Prue is back via reincarnation.
- Say what you will about Shannen but anytime she leaves a show, it suffers. "90210" jumped the shark when she left. Dylan choosing Kelly has to be one of the worst writer mistakes ever. Jennie Garth sucks the life out of any show she's on.
- R68
Agree.
I actually like Shannen. I don't care if she's a crazy bitch, at least she doesn't hide the fact that she is.
- Sorry to burst your bubble, R58, Heather Sweet, AKA, Dita Von Teese, aint so sweet. Complete climber slag. Her surgery is decent, but she is so plastic, she will soon be a Real Doll.
- Shannen is a better actress than Rose.
- Drew Fuller's bulge
http://hotmencentral.com/drew_fuller/pic7.shtml
- Brian Krause's butt
http://www.queerclick.com/images/qc_briankrause.jpg
- Drew and Brian were my favorites on that show for the pretty face and butt respectively. What did you think of Brian's butt?
- [quote]What did you think of Brian's butt?
I've been a fan of his glorious bubble butt since I first saw it in "Sleepwalkers". He did a movie before SW called "December", where he wore tight-ish gray sweatpants that showed off his butt to maximum effect. And then there's the movie "The Liars' Club", where he spends the entire movie in tight jeans, showing off the ass once again.
- Like most of the cast, Brian gained weight over he course of the show.
- So basically everyone on the show was an asshole on some level?
- Holly wasn't.
- Holly was the biggest asshole of them all in the last two seasons.
- In what way R79?
- I have a hard time believing Holly was any sort of asshole.
She spends her spare time with dog rescues and is friends with Charisma Carpenter.
- Methinks someone is confusing the actor with the character, R79.
- I remember Holly used to refer to herself as the "Kate Jackson" of the 3 Charmed ones.
- R81
If you believe that someone can't be terrible and a raging egomaniac just because they volunteer their time somewhere... you are incredibly stupid. The fact that she's friends with Charisma should tell you she's awful. She's friends with Shannen too so...
R82
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not confusing anything. I worked at the CW during the time and Holly was hated by production crew. She grew a big head and was so demanding, a lot of staff were wishing Shannen would come back.
