I have no problem with speedos but get real only about 5-10% of the male population have the physique to wear them. For most guys board shorts or swim trunks are better suited.

Another vote in agreement with R5. Short-cut trunks are the most stylish type of swimwear. In the U.S. at least, guys who wear Speedos (not counting college swim teams and the like - I meant in public places) tend to be preening, narcissistic assholes.

That swimmers.namrod.ru site that a lot of these come from is a treasure trove, but it raises a question: who is taking all these close-up, high-quality photos of high school and college swimmers at swim meets? They're obviously not culled from Facebook or anything like that -they're too high quality, plus in most cases the guys look as if they're unaware they're even being photographed. Are there hordes of pervy gay guys out there who show up to high school and college swim meets and snap away, blithely unconcerned about how obvious and skeevy it must seem to everybody around them? And they're not like furtive shots from the back of the bleachers, either - they look so close up that it's like the photographer must have been right down in front, taking his time with each photo. This baffles me.

It seems to me if guys are going to compete in public meets wearing speedos, wrestling singlets, whatever, it's fair game to photograph them. Unless you would also complain about "pervs" taking pictures at HS football games?

I would like to make it clear I am NOT in any way complaining about this, as I am deeply grateful to the photographers for their work and enjoy the photos immensely! The word "pervy" was not meant to express my feelings about them but rather the way the others present at the swim meet would most likely be perceiving the photographers. %0D %0D I think there's a general attitude among the public that repeatedly taking photographs of people one doesn't know (who are not celebrities) is a little creepy... that when it's an adult taking photos of teenagers, it's a little creepier... and that when those teenagers are in very little clothing, it may cross the line into "pervy". R28 I do photography on the side and get what you are saying. I do mostly nature stuff, but have wanted to more photos of people. Ive gotten some nice response from the community when I posted the stuff I took at a pride last month a couple of weeks ago I thought about going to the local skate board park to take shots of skateboarders, but after getting there I thought it might come off as a little sketchy so I left.
