Bob''s Burgers - The son is gay!

I just realized this. Gene says weird things once in a while - out of the blue - like "I''m a top!" (season finale) and something like "I want our new dad to be blonde!" He also loves house music.\ \ The show is pretty LGBT-friendly. Bob befriends trans hookers when he drives a cab part-time, for example.

• He also insists he''ll be first kissing Jimmy Jr.

• The humor is kind of low-key, deadpan, droll. It''s very different from Set MacFarlane''s stuff. Amy Sedaris and Sarah Silverman have guest voiced.

• I didn't like the show before but after watching the first season with my boyfriend yesterday it has grown on me. I realized that its not really the jokes that make it funny but how dysfunctional they are and how they make it work like a regular family.

• If you think it's bland, go back and see Lucy, Daughter of the Devil by the same team and see what they could do. Satan was hilarious, the DJ Jesus having sex with the antichrist, Lucy... killer nuns... edgy and funny. Fox made Bob's Burgers tone it down. There's a rumor it was supposed to be about a family of cannibals but Fox didn't get it. So that became a rumor and the show just became a family. John Roberts though could read any line as Linda and I would laugh...

• Home Movies, which shares creator Loren Bouchard, is one of the greatest shows of the last decade. Also H. Jon Benjamin, who can also be heard on Archer (another great show), can do no wrong. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of Bob's Burgers, but maybe I need to give it another chance.

• "Archer"? Ugh. That show is so overrated.

• Home Movies was utterly brilliant. So is Bob's Burgers. H. Jon Benjamin can do no wrong, imho. And the woman who voices Louise is Kristen Schaal, who is also brilliant on "Flight of the Conchords".

• This show is my least favorite Sunday evening cartoon on FOX. Wish they'd checked with me before greenlighting it. Not funny; barely amusing, and only occasionally at that.

• Louise is also everybody's much hated Hazel from "30 Rock."

• I think the actress who plays Hazel should probably stick to voice work. I love her voice, but she's getting a bit long in the tooth for it to work when we can see her. I know that's really harsh, but *shrug*

• I think the show is unique and brilliant. I love every charactar. The writing is a subtle type of humor...I understand that people who need the obviousness of, let's say Road Runner won't get it.

• I saw one episode and it was so horrible and unfunny. It was the episode where they adopt a cow and dress it up and then slide it down a staircase. When I finally decided to give it another chance they were airing the same exact episode. But then yesterday I finally saw a new episode and it was pretty funny. They really need to take the cow episode out of circulation.

• The cow one wasn't that bad, but it wasn't one of the stronger shows. The show has definitely been getting better and better with every episode, and the cow one was one of the first ones.

• So how did the hot guy get the job to play the mom? He has no credits on IMBD. Was he just a friend of the producers? I don't think they would just hire a random man to play the part of a woman.

• This show has really grown on me. I used to think it was really stupid when I would just catch a minute or two but watching the whole show made me get into it. . Very very funny

• The first season is really bad. It only starts getting better at season 3 or 4.

• I thought it started out good, but agree it gets stronger as it goes along. It does take a while to "get into" the characters, they're so odd initially. But now I absolutely love the kids, all of them. They make the show. Especially the one with the bunny-ears.
