Shania Twain is returning to the stage for a two-year residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. She will be alternating with fellow Canadian diva Celine Dion, as bot will be performing at Caesars. But at separate times. So who would you rather see in concert. Choose only between these two Canadian Divas.
Celine Dion or Shania Twain: Which Canadian Diva''s Concert Would You Rather Attend In Las Vegas

Celine, easy. Odd duck, but at least she can sing, rather well at times. Shania is well, mediocre, not as talentless as Britney or JLo, but not much better. Think Helen Reddy or Ann Murray from another era.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 8, 2011 7:54 PM |
Paul Anka.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 8, 2011 9:08 PM |
Choose only between Shania or Celine
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 8, 2011 9:12 PM |
Justin Beiber.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 8, 2011 9:16 PM |
You need to offer "being buried alive" as one of the choices, otherwise I can't vote.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 8, 2011 9:51 PM |
I speak for all Canadians who are PROUD of our two girls being such international supers stars.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 8, 2011 9:55 PM |
I will be buying Shania tickets as soon as they go on sale.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 8, 2011 9:56 PM |
Why the hell is Shania doing a Las Vegas residency for two years when she hasn't even recorded a new album in almost a decade? Kind of stupid when you have nothing new to offer. She should record a new album and then do Las Vegas residency.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 8, 2011 9:59 PM |
Maybe Shania's alleged concert will be instead a one woman show, a both dramatic and musical odyssey through the shambles of her life.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 8, 2011 10:02 PM |
Ya all. Shania still can't sing.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 8, 2011 10:06 PM |
Shania will find another tragedy to keep her from actually performing.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 8, 2011 10:09 PM |
Shania has been trying desperately to come up with new material, but she can't come up with anything decent. Mutt Lange was the music source, Shania was just the voice and belly button.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 8, 2011 10:30 PM |
Shania wrote all of her songs. Mutt was the production.

by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 9, 2011 2:43 PM |
Neither, they both sing vapid mediocre throw away pop. Like most "Divas" today.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 9, 2011 2:46 PM |
Can't I just go see some male strippers or something instead?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 9, 2011 2:51 PM |
I like Celine because she can actually sing, seems to be a rather empathetic lady, and is totally in on her own joke.
I watched some music show this one time. Whitney Houston made a rare appearance on it and this was well after her crack issues were made public and all of that. Celine Dion was in the audience. She jumped to her feet. Started to cry. And tried to rally everyone into giving Whitney Houston a standing ovation. So, Celine Dion is sweet to me because of that. Whitney Houston looked and sounded like shit by the way and a singer of Celine Dion's talent more than likely picked up on that after the few first notes.
What is funny is that I do not own any of Celine Dion's music. I just find her precious or something and respect her singing talent.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 9, 2011 6:55 PM |
I sang 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' at my middle school talent show and won the faculty appreciation prize.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 9, 2011 7:14 PM |
Quote [Shania wrote all of her songs. Mutt was the production.]
Wrong. If you look at the credits for her cds each song is attributed to Lange/Twain. If you look at her only pre-Lange cd. she co-wrote one of the songs.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 9, 2011 7:19 PM |
I'd have to go with the buried alive option since if I'm in Vegas there's a million other things I'd rather be doing...
but if I must choose, I guess Shania. Her show seems like it'd be fun at least. Celine is talented of course, but she seems extremely boring.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 9, 2011 7:22 PM |
R19 that is because her record label refused to allow her to record any of her own songs.
When she finally met Mutt, she convinced the record label to use her material. Since Mutt was producing, they agreed. As long as he co-wrote all the stuff with her.
Since her second album 'The Woman In Me' she has not sung any song she has not written herself.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 9, 2011 7:23 PM |
Any theories on why Shania's new single tanked on country radio? Was there no marketing push?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 15, 2011 7:15 PM |
Wait, I thought Shania Twain is not considered as a diva? Because her voice is not powerful... If she's being called a diva, then Taylor Swift is also a diva...
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 16, 2014 9:27 AM |
I'd rather see RAIN or the JERSEY BOYS
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 16, 2014 9:37 AM |
Is being scissor-kicked in the throat by Solange Knowles in an elevator an option? If not, I'll take buried alive thanks OP.

Celine is one of the best voices ever... There's the Mariah-Celine-Whitney big three!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 16, 2014 11:16 AM |
It's crazy to think that Shania Twain released the highest selling cd of the nineties. It sold 20 million in the USA! That has to be the biggest crossover cd of all time. According to the RIAA, she is the only female artist to have three diamond albums (The woman in me, Come on Over, Up)
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 16, 2014 11:16 AM |
I think the reason why Shania Twain albums sold that much is because people can sing along when listening to her songs unlike others like Mariah, Celine, Whitney
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 16, 2014 11:20 AM |
R28, yes, her stuff is perfect karaoke material. But also, I think it's because flyover americans LOVE country music and they also love pop, whether it's fluffy or not. If you combine both, you have a recipe for success, so long as the singer is sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 16, 2014 7:53 PM |
Shania purposely made her music to cross over.
Whereas Celine would only cater to Pop and AC, Shania catered to Pop, AC, and Country.
When you cross into all three of those genres, then you really make the big money.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 16, 2014 8:07 PM |
What about Anne Murray?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 16, 2014 8:09 PM |
Celine Dion without a question. She is or was at least at one time the best white singer ever.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 17, 2014 12:23 AM |
Celine.
But only to hear "That's The Way It Is".
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 17, 2014 1:30 AM |
R29 I agree. Shania's songs are easy to sing...
I remember Carrie Underwood easily outsang her in her own song
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 17, 2014 2:15 AM |
If you think Celine is a good singer, you must be tone deaf.
I don't like country so do not know Shania's sound.
I would not go to either. I would save my $150 and put it to better use rather than increase the coffers of two already rich people.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 17, 2014 2:38 AM |
weir leopard dress but funny song, yes her songs are very easy to sing along
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 17, 2014 2:48 AM |
Just as Taylor Swift songs are very easy to singm Shania Twain songs are also not challenging... If you want a perfect score in karaoke, choose their songs
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 18, 2014 8:50 AM |
I would see Chippendales or Thunder from down under instead.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 18, 2014 3:23 PM |
I really hope Shania doesn't get David "Boring Adult Contemporary that no one will buy" Foster to produce her new CD. Her "promo single" for the Oprah show was a hot mess.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 18, 2014 3:39 PM |
R36, when I started watching the video you posted I started thinking that I didn't remember the song being so country. This is the version that was the big hit here in Europe:

I'm still creeped out by the fact that she married the old buzzard who managed her career back when she was a very young girl.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 18, 2014 4:00 PM |
R41 Mutt Lange is not that old and Shania was in her 20s when they met.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 18, 2014 4:02 PM |
R42 I'm talking about Celine Dion. Duh...
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 18, 2014 4:09 PM |
R41 didn't mention anyone by name and this is a thread about them both.

50-50 tied in poll
by Anonymous | reply 46 | December 29, 2014 1:28 PM |
how Shania Twain is worth more than 400 million dollars with just 3 albums is beyond me. Her's is the best rags to riches story if there is any.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 29, 2014 2:10 PM |
R47 because country music is big business.
Shania crosses over to be bought by pop, adult contemporary and country
Three revenue streams = 400 million
by Anonymous | reply 48 | December 29, 2014 2:19 PM |
Shania and the hunky Billy Currington.
Yowzah!
by Anonymous | reply 49 | December 29, 2014 2:28 PM |
Celine Dion has no sense for lyrics. She'll just start shouting and screaming in the middle of a song, even though the words call for something soft and gentle.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | December 31, 2014 6:47 PM |
why couldn’t Shania get a new Svengali after Mutt dumped her?
Too difficult and bad tempered?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 14, 2018 8:32 AM |
Which one will be more overthetop Vegas? That one. So I can laugh at her.
