• The Whoopster spent years insisting she was not an actress but an actor, and except for "Color Purple" she has done her damnedest to earn the "worst actor" prize. Also, at this point Paltrow is right there, because she has lost herself in her own ego and self-regard. It's like watching a sun-bleached turd proclaim itself white chocolate every time she steps into the frame. Winona Ryder. High school teacher's pet playing lead and having to have all the rented costumes hemmed because she's a dwarf. Jennifer Hudson. Like watching a lobotomy patient. Men? Forest Whitaker, McBongo, Tim Cruise (O My Lord, I attempted suicide to avoid sitting through the rest of "Born on the Fourth of July," and the years haven't helped him. That grating whiny voice. The dead eyes. The lack of facial expression, except for Lummox Intense and Lummox Pensive. He has never connected with another actor on screen in his career, except for Dustin H. and Brad Pitt. The preening!) William Hurt. Pompous ass nontalent. Most overrated? Paul Giamatti. The man has no soul. He has a small bag of tricks and a raging ego hidden in his fat midsection where he thinks no one will notice it, because he knows he can't compete as a leading man. What a hambone. John Adams my ass. His ineptness was okay when he could just get by as a character type, but once the big roles started he became a monster. In "Sideways" I wanted to beat him to death with every wine bottle in every scene he was in. Vintage? How about Anthony Quinn? Shit. And Eli Wallach. It is only after he turned 80 that the disgusting old fuck finally managed to start figuring out what acting was about, and that was only because he had lost the teeth to chew the scenery in every scene.

• I don't think I've seen a worse picture than 'Meet Joe Black,' so I'll go with Pitt too. I tried to like Benjamin Button, and I thought it was excellent and really atmospheric, but far too long. You could see the director was in love with Brad, but I never got all the way through it -- and I went to see it like three times (on a cruise ship...they played every night on the deck as some kind of maritime torture). Then I tried to sit through Inglorious Basterds and Pitt's southern accent really grated on me and "took me out" of the scene, made me aware of the (bad) acting.

• Most of the actors here are merely overrated, they were so good looking that average or below average ability was tolerated, or they were hired because they have that impossible to define star power, a la Pitt, who is at least passable. If we're talking just plain bad, then it's hard to beat Taylor Lautner, IMO. He more or less lucked into Twilight, and we'll have to wait for his 15 minutes to be over. I don't find him the least bit handsome, and he's a negative 500 on the sexy scale, but he's still out there like a fungus. Keanu Reeves must be the worst actor to have a long career. • Brent Spiner. I loved his character Data in ST: TNG but have you ever seen him act outside of the Trek realm? It's painful.

• Bill Pullman. Jeez, he must throw a mean blow job because his acting SUCKS!!! How does he get cast in movie after movie? Seriously????

• R225, I have to second your vote for worst actor in Hollywood, going to Henry Cavill. To highlight how bad he is, you can look no further than Cold Light of Day. No emotion at all. Plus, he had no desire to stay in character and talk with an American accent. I guess the director got tired of trying to get a real emotion out of him.

• R233 Glad someone else agrees. Yes, his acting was TERRIBLE in CLOD and I also noticed how he flipped back and forth between a American and British accent. It was as cringeworthy as when Madonna used to do that crap. Same thing in Blood Creek - awful, wooden acting and went back and forth between accents again. He's good looking, but he simply does not have lead role talent. He belongs in supporting roles (and even then he's still mediocre).

• Chuck Norris --- abysmal. I can't believe he's been repeatedly getting acting jobs in Hollywood. He has never made anything of quality. Horrible, just horrible. That, plus he's a conservative whack-job (one of the worst).

• Granted, there are some pretty awful actors listed here, but the list seems to be more about overrated actors than "the worst." Many of the choices seem to be based on some sort of personal animus that has nothing to do with anyone's acting ability. Laura Linney? No way in hell is she the worst actor in Hollywood. Neither are Jennifer Aniston, Jodie Foster or Brad Pitt. As much as I hate to admit it, if I'm to be honest neither is Tom Cruise. As for Nikolas Cage? Now we're getting there. John Wayne? Definitely. He was less animated than a cigar store Indian on his best day.

• I don't know what the actor's name is, but the last performance I saw in a Hollywood movie that was so distractingly bad that I had to confer with the person beside me was definitely the guy on the plane in the opening scene of The Dark Knight Rises. The guy with the gun? Who was threatening to throw people off the plane if they didn't tell him Bane's whereabouts? Does anyone know who I'm talking about?

• Every producer and director wants to fuck Mila Kuntis so she will keep on working otherwise. R229 DeNiro has a lot of kids to support and an ex-wife(who knows what ex-girlfriend,Touke Smith gets from him being the mother of two of his kids)and his current wife. He likes to live a certain lifestyle and that includes selling out. Then again wasn't Midnight Run selling out as well? Julie Roberts must give the best bjs in the biz knowing every piece of the three piece set and the male g-pot as well! What a horrid worthless peiece of shit she was. Marion Cotillard gave one of the best performances of the year in Rust and Bone and one of the worst in Dark Knight. Her death scene in Dark Knight remains possibly the worst death scene in the history of Hollywood. Lohan's fainting spell in Liz and Dick was far more real than that. I hope that Cotillard wins Worst actress in the Razzies and Best Actress in the Oscars. I hope she accepts the Razzie that would be utterly fabulous.....

• I agree that both Tom Hanks and Adam Sandler are among the worst actors (misnomer). Is that why we keep finding their old movies at 2nd hand stores? By the way, how many knew that Tom Hanks got the stranded guy on an island idea from a cute screen saver with the same name? I disagree that Brad Pitt is a bad actor. He can change and has had terrific roles where I didn't even know it was him! (Great acting)

• I like Adam Sandler and his movies, they're usually good for some laughs.

• Actually McBongo redeemed himself for me with his performance in Killer Joe this past year. Really frightening and strangely sexy.

• Brad Pitt, bland and unconvincing in almost every film he's every been in. He's there to look good, which is baffling as I don't find him attractive either, his blandless undermines his looks, and btw I'm a woman writing this

• Brad Pitt is just unwatchable for me. I weep at the many roles he's ruined because he gets to pick and what a truly talented actor would have done with them. Keanu Reeves is as wooden but unlike Pitt, is self-aware enough to know he has no talent.

• I don't know how this expressionless, epithom of blandness hasn't been named already: CHRISTIAN BALE What a terrible, terrible actor. Other than that, Nic Cage. Ben Affleck. Tom Cruise. Brad Pitt. Keanu Reeves is in a special world of his own and also he acknowledges his non-acting which makes him all the more worthy of respect. Sean Penn playing something other than a variation of himself (Milk) is horrible to watch.
