Child killer Jon Venables is to get a new secret name, because of a serious security breach which has revealed details of his cu
Details of the breach cannot be revealed for legal reasons.
But it means that he will have to learn another fake background and be given a new set of documents, including a passport and birth certificate.
He will not be able to return to the town where he was living when he is released from his latest prison sentence.
Venables was given a first new identity in 2001 when he was freed from his life sentence, along with Robert Thompson, for the murder in Liverpool of toddler James Bulger.
The two killers were granted lifelong anonymity around their new identities, such was the concern that they would be attacked.
When Venables, 28, was jailed again last year for internet child sex abuse crimes it emerged that he had been telling some people who he really was.
During the court case it emerged that as an adult Venables had developed drink and drugs problems and had been cautioned by police for cocaine possession.
A judge partially lifted the lifelong gagging order to reveal that he had been living in Cheshire and his latest crimes had been committed in that county.
At that time the Home Office and Probation Service considered giving him a second new identity - along with a detailed history and the documents to support it - but decided against it because of the problems Venables would have dealing with such a big change.
A source said: "We had resisted a new ID because he had lived with the first one for so long and it's very difficult to do that.
"But the new security breach is considered so serious that a new identity is the only answer, because we believe so many people will have learned who he is and it would be impossible to protect him."
Venables is to appear before the Parole Board in a couple of months when a panel will consider freeing him from his latest jail sentence.
He will remain on licence for the James Bulger murder and risk being recalled to prison for any serious bad behaviour.
WTF is this bullshit???\
I was tracking this story and it fell out of the news. Thanks for the link.\
He should NOT get a new ID because *he* was the one who started telling everyone who he was, and not always under the influence either.\
Not only that, he was convicted of serious child porn offences; that is why he''s behind bars again, not for fighting or possession.
That video is more terrifying than Venables. Some dumb frau must have made it.
Why does their justice system coddle these people?
OMG. I just read a detective novel and this case was part of the story!!! I think it was Elizabeth George and the Inspector Lynley series. The paperback book was very thick and it took 3 weeks to get thru. It was my bedtime reading, but it was very good and fascinating.
I read that book - was it called "What Happened Before He Shot Her"? Unbelievably depressing, and I had to force myself to finish it.
I had to skip past the parts about the little baby because it was so horrible. Those kids were animals.
"Why does their justice system coddle these people?"\
You should see the brazilian justice system. People under 18 can commit ANY crime and they will serve zero time. They can be locked up at a place for juvenile criminal for a maximum of 3 years.
Some people can''t be rehabilitated.
They were 10 years old when they committed the crime. They lacked the mental capacity to understand what they were doing.\
Even if the adult Venables is up to no good now, that has nothing to do with whether the punishment he received for a crime committed as a child was fitting.\
These vigilantes have the brains of 10 year olds.
They lacked the mental capacity to understand what they were doing.\
Then why don''t more 10 year olds commit murder? Oh, that''s right, because at 10 years of age human beings have the capacity to understand death.
10 year olds are perfectly capable of discerning right from wrong. They know that molesting, torturing and killing a 2 year old baby is wrong. These are sociopaths. Some people are just born evil.
It''s ridiculous to assert that a 10 year old should be held as accountable as an adult, no matter how hysterical you want to be about it.
I hope a 10 year old with a gun blows out the brains of the person you love the most in the world, r15. Then you get back to us.
Venables seems an absolute lost cause. %0D\
Thompson is of more interest to me, though not much can be found about him (fair enough he has not reoffended). Supposedly he had attraction to guys while in youth prison and he now (allegedly) has a home with a man who knows his real identity (so he story goes). He has a regular job and manages to stay under the radar. %0D\
I hope a 10 year old with a gun blows out the brains of the person you love the most in the world, [R15]. Then you get back to us.%0D\
What do you mean, ''us''? Why can''t you just accept that people see things differently and we are all brought up in different ways? %0D\
Some scandinavian coutries send child criminals, even murderers, straight back to school. %0D\
Why are you wishing MORE evil on someone else, just because they have a perfectly valid pov than you but you don''t understand it? How childish.
What do you mean, ''us''?\
Sane people, R18. Sane people.
Sounds like the families of both those boys would have been better off if they''d all died in a house fire long ago. They''re all mentally defective.
Same here, r17. Reading up on the case it seems he had by far the worst home life - was abused by his brothers, mother and father emotionally, physically, and possibly sexually. Despite this Venables was the one who flew into violent rages at school. Thompson was apparently shy and quiet but could be quite manipulative. I wonder what his life is like now? At least he hasn''t reoffended.
Thompson is gay.
[italic]10 year olds are perfectly capable of discerning right from wrong. [/italic]\
I''m sorry r12, that''s bullshit.\
When that murder took place, my brother and I were 10 and 12. We had a two-year old brother, the same age as the little boy who got killed. And we were horrified - we certainly had the mental capacity to understand what they did and why it was sickening and wrong. The things those ten year-olds did to that little boy were appalling and they deserved severe punishment, not wishy-washy coddling.
Children can be nasty, don''t you think?
The Voice of the Night
Children can be nasty but these kids were way over the top. lock Venables up and throw away the key! Coddling of pedophiles and child murderers is deplorable.
Here are current pictures of kiddie porn enjoying, baby murdering jon venables aka paul jon williams
A picture of him was posted on Twitter and now the British government is going to do a big investigation because people in England don't have free speech or freedom of the press. The person who posted the picture of the baby killer could go to jail.
Now the police will probably spend money so venables can get another new identity (cost of about 1.5 million U.S dollars) and some plastic surgery. They did that for the lovely Maxine Carr. She was just an accomplice to her boyfriend who tried to rape two young girls, murdered them, dumped their bodies and then set them on fire. But the authorities will have to wait until venables/ williams gets out of jail for having massive amounts of sadistic kiddie porn. The government knew about his kiddie porn viewing and tried VERY hard to sweep that under the carpet just like they've done each and every other time his criminally illegal activites got him into trouble over the years. They didn't think the poor guy should have to go to jail. Public outcry was the only reason the animal was locked up
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
