Side-of-neck tattoos?
Lately I''ve noticed an increasing number of people with script tattoos on the sides of their neck, up high enough to make them pretty hard to hide -- like the one on the douchebag in the link. What the fuck are these people thinking?\
\
Granted, the tattooees are universally trash (from what I''ve seen), but I just don''t understand this trend. I wouldn''t hire someone with that shit visible, and I doubt many people would. Instead of fancy script, they should just get "LOSER" branded there instead. It''s faster, I''d imagine.\

- They''re fine if the person is already famous in a rock/punk/metal/etc. band; or has enough money to never need to get a job. \
\
Apart from that they''re a brilliant way to screw up all future career options.
- the ones that are guns are horrible.
- It''s a terrible look. Nothing good about it.%0D\
%0D\
And I don''t mind the occasional tattoo elsewhere.
- Both Starbucks and Chipolte are hiring. If that''s the look you want then that''s the work option you get.
- Well, it entirely depends on what the person''s career is.\
\
Not all of us want to work as cubicle slaves, OP.\
\
Now back to the accounting department with you. Charlene needs those TPS reports by the end of the day!
- I laugh at the ones with an entire paragraph tattoo on the neck, ear to ear.
- i love the script on neck look
- Nothing says "I''ve been to prison" better.
- The rough trade look is hot.
- A couple of years ago I sat in a poly sci class with a young woman who had "Hello Kitty" tattooed on her jugular in full color. I wonder if she''s landed a job yet?
- Tattoos are awful. Neck tattoos are hideous and a collosally stupid decision. %0D\
%0D\
Depends on your career? At 22, you don''t have a career. Don''t fucking tattoo your neck.
- Tattoos are not. Mary''s are not.
- They do it intentionally so that the tats can be seen no matter what they wear. I''m not sure if they just want to showw off or it''s really a personal statement they are trying to make.\
\
IMO, tats should be done with taste and a great sense of art, and they shouldn''t be used to show off.

- Tattoos are so ugly and trashy, even the ones that aren''t so flamboyant. They just make people look dirty and low-class.
- The general manager and marketing director at my company both have a tatt on the side of their neck. They''re the only two people at the entire company that has them there. \
\
Two highest paid employees (119k and 107k salaries) have them, none of the $9/hr employees do.\
\
Ironic huh ?
- A girl I know has one. She''s an elementary school teacher in her early 20s. I guess she didn''t have trouble finding a job, but I still think it''s a horrible idea.
- Who cares? Only a ninny makes value judgments about people based on something so inconsequential and commonplace.\
\
Yes, lots of them are ugly. Lots of people have bad taste. That''s how it goes.
- I think it''s trashy of you, OP, to not know how to spell.
- Trashy split infinitive from you, r18. It should be "not to know", not "to not know".
- R15\

didn''t your momma teach you not to lie?
- Neck tattoos are very painful. To get one is to proclaim how tough you are, which is why neck tattoos are so popular among gang members and criminals.

- R15, maybe they got the tats after they got the jobs, or maybe they were hired back in the day when unemployment was low and employers gave more leeway. Those two guys probably wouldn't be hired today.
- Have to completely agree with the OP on this one.
- All tattoos are trashy. Neck Tattoos are particularly hideous and guarantee difficulty in meaningful, long-term employment.
- These people live in the moment. They're the ones who will roar past you in the car, only to sit in front of you because the light just turned red. They never plan ahead.
- If it's not my body, I don't consider it any of my business. If people like to be tattooed, more power to them.
I don't always see the creativity in tattoos, but I've seen some I considered beautiful.
There is cover-up makeup that gives full coverage tattoos for anyone who cares to do so. I know a bride who used it and it worked well. It's also used by makeup people on TV and in movies.
There are many jobs where employees don't interface with the public and their employers are less inclined to care about such things.
- When I was hired at the hospital, the new employee orientation included talk on tattoos and other forms of body modification. The HR goons pointed out that most of our clients are over sixty, and many aren’t very cosmopolitan… and we must NOT let our fashion sense freak them out, they’ve got to trust heir nurse, doctor, lab tech, etc. So we were told to cover up tattoos and piercings, keep our hair conservatively colored and styled, etc.
I mean, nobody’s been fired for coming in with pink hair or a new tattoo, but if you’ve got big visible tattoos on your neck, you’re probably not getting that healthcare job.
RN
- I don't get what's wrong with the use of ironic in R15's post.
He's stating that, contrary to what we're discussing - in that neck tattoos means 'no job for you', the highest paid people in his company have neck tattoos.
How isn't that ironic, at least in the context of our discussion?
- I saw a chick with tons of neck and face tattoos.
She also had the word TONY written across the bridge of her nose. WTF??
- I would imagine creative professions like fashion design and graphic arts would be more tolerant of tattoos in the "wrong" places. However, it seems like a tattoo on the neck, visible areas of the chest, on the sleeve, etc. just screams "This person drinks/smokes/does drugs too much and will have drama/issues."
- It might scream that to you, R49. It's a good thing not everybody is that judgmental.
Our brightest IT person at work has lots of tattoos, including his neck. He also plays in a band. If the firm ever had a popularity contest, I think the guy would win hands-down; he's a sweetheart.
- To me, tattoos say: Prisoner of his/her generation, with really bad taste.
- I'll have some of what R32 is smokin'

Ah...no. I have holes in my ears--just holes for regular earrings. I haven't worn earrings for 15 years, but I could, the holes are still there. They don't just close up, especially if your earlobes are large flapping loops of skin (gross). Also, forget about nibbling on the ears of anyone who wears gauges. Those things STINK!
R32, sorry you bought that bullshit story. Your gaping holes will require surgery to repair when you finally decide you've outgrown that silly fad.
Don%27t%20do%20it%20people
- People who willingly get tattoos are more often than not, trash. I could see having a simple tattoo of a loved one's name, but the sleeves and stupid symbols/drawings are gross.
I honestly believe the theory that people who have multiple tattoos suffer from mental illness (whether it's depression or worse).
-
Lately I''ve noticed an increasing number of people with script tattoos on the sides of their neck
It's a result of poor border control.
- When you're 30 you'll regret it. When you're 40 you'll regret it and look like shit. When you're 50, people will think you have a huge varicose vein in your neck and all of your "I don't want to be a cubicle slave" posturing will be of no interest to the other residents of the halfway house. Don't do it.
-
I'll have some of what [[R32]] is smokin'
Ah, 1980. What a great year for wacky catchphrases.
Perhaps while updating your stock of them, you might also want to re-read my post, especially where I wrote:
leaving only a slit behind
Of course the slit doesn't seal itself completely: it's always there, like an piercing hole, and can be refilled. But my point was that the large gap where the plug/gauge had been shrinks, so that all that is left is the slit (unless the plug is too large), which is not obtrusive. And of course it can easily be cleaned everyday, just like piercing holes.
And no, I've never had them myself. But perhaps I should have said I did--you Marys are so shrilly hysterical over minor body modifications!
- Oh please R50, that guy may be a sweetheart, but someone with that many tattoos clearly has emotional and self esteem issues. The issues may not seem to be apparent in fixing people's computers or in office politics but present in other situations.
- I refer ex felons to work a program that offers tattoo removal as a back to work option.
Yes, people have the right of free self expression and prospective employers have the right to hire people they think will do the best job.
It's just that simple.
People are responsible for their actions whether it is a facial tat or stealing from a former employer, or no show/no call.
Responsibility.
- My boyfriend has tattoos on his upper arms/forearms and legs. He would only get tattoos on places that would be covered by professional attire (long sleeve shirts and pants, etc).
Otherwise, I would have a problem with it.
- On a man a neck tat signals "trash, moron, or criminal". On a woman a neck tat signals "common lowbrow skank trash with no class".

- Cody Cummings (porn star) got one of these some time ago, and he went from hot to trash in 0.2 seconds.

- The hiring manager in my office loves to tell this story.
Last summer, we had an opening for what's basically a receptionist/office manager. The person who greets visitors and makes sure supplies are stocked and all that. Kind of a dull job, but the pay is pretty decent for entry-level, and it's possible to actually move up into other positions.
The job was never publicly posted anywhere, but he still got dozens of applicants. He interviewed a handful, and one of them was a guy just weeks out of college. He didn't have a neck tattoo, but his left arm was sleeved, all the way onto the top of his hand. He had oversized plugs in each ear, two lip and one eyebrow piercings. (With short hair, and clunky, oversized black glasses. You know the type.)
After about 10 minutes of the interview, the manager tells the kid that while we have a pretty casual office -- most people wear jeans -- he would have to look "presentable" to the public. Before he even went on to explain what that meant -- he was going to ask him if he could take out his face and ear rings at work, if he were to get the job -- the applicant got all huffy and snapped: "How DARE you judge me?" As he is sitting interviewing for a fucking job!
The hiring manager ended the interview at that point with a "Thanks for coming in. We'll be in touch."
- I know someone who got one. Then he died.
- R64 is most likely just using a DLism, but it is indeed possible to die from getting a tattoo or piercing.
People may ask "What's the worst that could happen (if I get a tatt or piercing)?"
The answer is, you can die. Literally DIE.
Is that worth it, for a silly thing you won't be happy with in a few years anyway?

- I think it's terrible when girls/women have tatts - they look so common and trashy which may be good when you're 18 but at 35+ you just look like a dumbass that had a sheep 'gang' mentality when you were younger. Seriously, other than those that are fabulously wealthy, name me one smart/high IQ person with a tatt; bet you can't. It seems only those with a very low IQ get tatts (particularly visible ones). Similarly, these people are always the ones who smoke and drink to excess.
In a nutshell; white trash who live in social housing and pretend they're black people are the usual culprits. I wouldn't hire one if they paid me! They should all be forced into National Service for 3 years; that would give them a purpose and a sense of self-respect.

Has it also occurred to you it's also possible to die (in your own Maryesque words, "Literally DIE") every time you get in a car, or every time you walk down the street? David Blume, the former NBC correspondent, died from a blood clot in his leg he acquired from sitting in a car for too long: obviously, even [italic]sitting[/italic] carries with it its own deadly dangers.
Life is constant risk: enjoying life depends on weighing risks and deciding which ones are worth it. There is no way of living life without it. And the number of people who die from getting a tattoo or from getting an ear gauge isn't enough to warn people away.
But wrong your hands and clutch your pearls anyway, Mary: no one's stopping you, if that's how you get your shits and giggles.

0.2 seconds? What was the tattoo he got in the space of 0.2 seconds? A single dot?
RancidOldKunst
- Yakuza full body tats are beautiful. Now I find out that you can view some of the whole thing after the guys are dead and skinned.
hot or not?
- pxplsthx
RancidOldKunst
- R77? Within .2 seconds of seeing the tatoo. Was that really so hard to figure out?

You time your viewing of tacky porn stars? Who knew.

- Nothing says high class like a side-of-neck tatoo:

- Holy shit, R83, that boi is a ka-ween!
- Think what the sad little man in 83 s post will look like in just 10 years.
Hanging out at truck stops hoping to score some fat married meat.
- "The answer is, you can die. Literally DIE."
As opposed to the figurative deaths the rest of us die every day in our cubicles.
- Boy in r83 is a spunk. As I've said almost every time this tired old subject gets trotted out on the DL, all you arbiters of good taste and judgement who can't see past how 'trashy' and 'low class' tattoos are and who have to pathologise tattoo-wearers as mentally ill deadbeats are a) completely misunderstanding why most people get tattoos, and b) exactly the sort of people the average tattoo-wearer is looking to set themselves apart from. In other words, cluck your tongues all you want you prissy bitches. If we ink-wearers cared what you think or shared your aesthetic and social values, well we'd look just like you wouldn't we? As it stands, however, many of us would rather lose a nut than live by some whitebread dullard's sense of good taste and decorum.
Tattoos have a rich history that goes back much further than a season or two's youth fashion trends. Some of my tattoos are 15 years old and still looking sharp and colourful. It's all a matter of taste at the end of the day and I'm relieved I'm not one of those people who disapproves of anyone who doesn't live according to my tastes.

- R87, I have two words for you.
Bitch, please!
-
at the end of the day and I'm relieved I'm not one of those people who disapproves of anyone who doesn't live according to my tastes.
But the irony, dear R87, is that clearly you do.
whitebread%20dullard
- No, r89, I love that people have different tastes and values - it's what makes humanity so interesting. I do disapprove, however, of people judging and dismissing me as inferior trash on the basis of a visible tattoo.
- I saw a young woman with a fascinating tattoo around campus the other day. It was some kind of script and ran along her hairline behind her ears. If she hadn't been wearing her hair up, you would never be able to see it.
The Voice of the Night
- I call it common and lowbrow. Very trailer trash if you ask me. Not to mention ignorant and stupid.
- what R14 said is correct.
As far as a rich history, not in U.S. except for young sailors who regretted later getting them.
It is very confusing that someone wants to deface their body with ink and needles. How could David Beckham put graffitti all over his body?
Putting something of meaning on display on your skin cheapens what is trying to be honored.
Seeing a tattoo is a Red Flag that someone either is insecure, trying to be "cool" or trendy or acting out. Visit any gay neighborhood gym.
- R21 is right. It's a gang thing. A tattoo on the neck means he has done something "major", something that gives him status inside his gang (like killing someone)
- I get DL now. It's the gay version of the Christian Family Campaign.
- Ryan Roberts is the Arizona Diamondbacks 3rd baseman and is an otherwise very handsome guy, but he's a tattoo fan and it really detracts from his hotness to me.

- R4- Starbucks requires that you cover your tattoos while working. So the neck tattoo people can't even get a job there.
- Would you put a bumper sticker on a Mercedes?
- I don't think getting a tattoo is trashy, but it's such a sign of compliance, it's a turnoff.
You're under 50 in 2011? Well, if you're cool, you have a tattoo.
The ironic thing here is that those with tattoos perceive themselves as iconoclastic, when in fact, it's mainstream to the point of mandatory.
- Give the money spent for a tattoo to a charitable cause and make a difference vs. ridiculous "personal statement."
- I would like to see someone with a waterbug/ palmetto bug/giant cockroach tattooed on the neck.
With a tarantula on the other side
-
I see a lot of young guys now with "tramp stamps" ( tats on the lower back )
In the south, these are sometimes referred to as Panama City license plates.
That's not intended to be a compliment, by the way.
-
If we ink-wearers cared what you think
LOL! Oh, you're part of the ink-wearers club, all independent, iconoclastic, daring to be different. . . damn! Hey, what do you have to do go get into this club? Oh, right, be like everyone else in it.
ha!
-
R21 is right. It's a gang thing. A tattoo on the neck means he has done something "major", something that gives him status inside his gang (like killing someone)
Oh, please. Generalize much? Does that mean that the guy in R83's link killed somebody? (Then again, perhaps he has.) However, if everybody with a neck tattoo has done something "major", we have lots of hardcore fucks walking the streets -- of all ages, colors, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

- Michelle Ndgeocello or whatever her name is, had a tattoo of her girlfriend's name on her neck. It was a birthday present FOR the girlfriend. Several years later the girlfriend left her for a man. I think the tattoo got removed.
- If you work at a company like Pixar you can totally have neck art
- also if a guy is hot, he can totally get away with visible tattoos...at least in many offices in NYC media/creative etc. Double standard (guys vs girls, hot ppl vs avg ppl) but true.
- Dear R22--sorry this is belated, but I still wanted you to have it:

- How much does a tattoo cost?
Think of all the money pissed away to do such graffitti on the body.
- all of u all is cunts
- I like tattoos, but not above the neckline or below the elbow line.
I don;t need your damned tattoo shoved in my face 24/7.
- I saw a woman in a store yesterday with a complete "necklace" series, from a choker to another pattern that went down into her cleavage and beyond. Fake necklaces that covered her front.
Kind of limits your wardrobe choices in life, and jewelry choices.
- A few weeks back, I was hiring an HR Assistant. I had a young woman come in whose resume was exceptional but when she entered the office, all I could see were the tattoos on the backs of her hands, ankles and neck. As brilliant as her resume was, and she aced the interview, but I could not hire her for the position. This is a relatively high-profile position with a lot of client contact. Sorry, but she did it to herself.
- r68 I hate to disappoint you but my IQ is 140, I don't smoke and rarely drink. I also have no self-esteem issues, I just like tattoos. If you are too stupid to figure that out you should shut up on the subject,
- Why would a HR assistant be a "high profile position with a lot of client contact"?
- R98 wins.
- Don't worry R114, it's probably best to be rejected by Lucy. It is better for us all.
I'd posit that my 'mental illness' is caused by my high IQ, so I turn to cigarettes and tattoos instead of Lucies and knobs.
- R70, I've got a knife in my pocketbook and I'm gonna cut you up after class!
Concetta
- I just can't wait for all these morons to get into their 50's with these faded, sagging neck tats. They're going to look like hell. And sad and pathetic.
- I worked with a butch Berlin art director who had PHONE MUM tattooed across the top of one hand in script. He said his mother had complained he didn't speak to her enough so one day while walking past a tattoo parlor he got the reminder. Berlin is hardcore.
- To me, tattoos scream: "I'm American and I can't think for myself."
- Increasing numbers of women are having these. I just think they look so unsophisticated. I mean they are gonna look pretty stupid (if not already) when they hit 50.
Has anyone else noticed it's always really thick, stupid people that get tatts; especially the really visible ones(?) It must be the Neanderthal gene.

Lucy%20J.
- I don't undersatnd why so many fat/sloppy/unfit women get tattoos.
I mean, if you really want to look 'special,' why not get superfit? That would impress people. And why would you want to highlight fat, untoned arms? Why draw so much attention to being unfit?
I'm starting to equate tattoos on women as a sign of laziness.
- And I KNOW that guys hate tattoos on women.
One way for an average-looking woman to gain traction in the dating scene is to show off her unmarked arms. Seriously.
Just by NOT having tattoos a gal will be more appreciated.
p.s. many guys will not admit to hating tattoos on girl for fear of not being "cool."
But trust me, unless they are methheads, all guys hate a graffitied woman.
- Trash will be trash.
- R122,
yes, you never see a tattoo on any smart Asian woman. I'd be interested in knowing the cultural attitudes regarding tattoos amongst Asian women.
It probably equates to being a hooker.
- We couldn't just stick with tattoos looking bad on BOTH men and women? No?
-
I mean they are gonna look pretty stupid (if not already) when they hit 50.
Absolutely. You don't have to wait until you're 50. Neck tattoos look hideous now.
Good luck trying to get a job with a neck tattoo when you're young. And good luck especially with a neck tattoo when you're looking for a job at 50 or older and laid-off--and no longer young, dumb and carefree.
Don't get a friggin neck tattoo. You're not David Beckam--and he even looks ugly and ridiculous with all that ink.
- R127,
women who are tacky enough to buy into stupid male conformity deserve to be derided.
- Girls like them and so do fags. If he's a twink and he has a big chain on his tiny boney girl arms, the twink thinks that takes the place of a bulging bicep. Tats are all that, and those eldergays who don't like it are just showing their age.
Think back to the 70s and 80s, when it was cool to have mustaches and AIDS
AIDS%20Boy
- don't you just love ear lobe expanders...these people are freaks.
- Why mutilate and deface your own body? I don't get it, I never will.
- My sister and former brother in law both got a bunch of trashy tattoos. It's amazing that people are convinced that designs that looks silly while they're young, won't be absolutely hideous when they're old. But I also believe that a lot of people with numerous tattoos are so emotionally damaged that they have no serious plans about growing old. The people I know who are into tattoos have usually attempted suicide at some point in their lives, and they engage in risky behaviors that are bound to end their lives prematurely. In short, tattoos are a form of self mutilation favored by people with low self esteem.
- You would be surprised how many actors have tattoos. Especially ones of the CW ilk. I have to cover those damn things all the time.
I worked with Ryan Phillipe a yearish ago and was surprised to find that he has a full sleeve- I guess he doesn't care. I was also surprised to find that Stallone has a huge chest/shoulder tat.
I'm now working in North Carolina, and it's interesting to see how many people under 30 have tattoos- although I'm in an area where there are a lot of military guys and college kids.
Makeup%20artist
- Most of the time I just don't like the art. Sleeves often look like someone let a five year old draw on them with magic markers. It's too often just a jumble of colors and crosses, not something that can be appreciated unless you are close to it and can make out the different designs (that really don't look that good anyway).
BTW, don't ink text on your body and then get pissed when I look at it. If you put a short story on your neck, expect people to be curious and read it.
- Yeah, right, R123.
http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fat-belly-tattoos-unsuitable-inking-attention
- Actually r112, she has those actual pieces of jewelry. Having the template in place, it's easier to drape the jewelry.
I've always thought of the human body as a work of art, not a blank canvas.
- I think you people are stupid! Who gives a shit what's on somone elses body!? Does it effect the way they work or act?! No it doesn't. Best worker in the world could have a neck tattoo but noone would know because people are so ignorant and love to discriminate tattoos and piercings that they never give them a chance to show they are a good worker. This world is moronic.
lindsey
- Hmmmm..... It just occurred to me that my sister was prohibited from getting a tattoo because she has Hep C and told the tattoo artist.
Is getting a tattoo prohibited for poz guys? Or don't you tell?
Just curious.
- To each his/her own.
However, the one thing I remember is how god-awful they looked on the aging skin of ex-sailors/military men when I was a kid.
GreenJeans
- Neck/face tattoos are a helpful way miscreants self-report their status to the general public. I think it's a safe generalization to say no good people have tats in those places.
Stelth
- R134, I'm not sure when you worked with Stallone, but I'm reasonably sure he's done nothing but get inked over the last 5 years.
I'm also reasonable sure he's mentally ill.

- LOSER is the one that is not able to dare to do things. fucking stupid!!
- Meh. Doesn't really have any impact on me, so if someone wants to do that, go for it. Besides, its kind of funny to watch the priss-pots get their panties in a knot over trivial things.
- Why do blacks waste money on tatts no one can see?
- I have a tattoo on the side of my neck. I hasn't effected my employ-ability that I've noticed... not every single person in the world are anal retentive whine-asses as most of you people... I also have not been in any correctional facility, nor even had a traffic ticket... never been in a fist fight. I have 20 ASE certifications in auto mechanics, manage an auto repair shop, and volunteer at a local no kill animal shelter as well as donate money to charities.. and the fact that most of you have resorted to mud slinging and throwing insults shows your ignorance. and it's pathetic.
you're all entitled to your beliefs and opinions but so are we. I'd wager most you are followers of the bible yes? hmmm judge not lest ye be judged...
mech
- Everyone who cautions people with tattoos that "they'll look awful when you're older" especially the neck tattoos...well, here's another word:
You don't have to wait until you're older. Your tattoos look horribly hideous now. Stop fucking inking your body.
- R146 Marry me
- Actually a study out recently indicated visible tattoos are only responsible for less than 20% of all job turn downs.
The number one reason that people get turned down? Bad hygiene, especially bad breath and dirty hands.
This was a study of people otherwise qualified who were eliminated from jobs.
- Went to the Tribe game yesterday, we lost.
That being said there is a career for guys with neck tattoos. I had 3 beers at the game (96 in Cleveland yesterday) and I was sold the beers by 2 different guys with neck tattoos. One actually had some tattoos on his knuckles. Both were late 20's early 30's.
So yes get those tattoos guys, you can always hawk beer at a ball game!
- ^^^^@ [r150] there's another job we can do and it's serve our country and defend your right to be an ignorant twat (which I have for the past 6 years)

- Believe the rates of Hep C in younger people have risen due to so much piercing and tattoos. Do it yourself piercings and unclean tattoo needles.
- No hiring mgr. would hire someone to work in office setting with facial tattos showing.
Very distruptive to professional atmosphere.
People with tats cover them up until they get the job.
-
I hasn't effected my employ-ability that I've noticed... not every single person in the world are anal retentive whine-asses as most of you people
It may not have affected your employability, but it definitely has affected your grammar and writing skills.
- What prissy queens some of you are. I have a fairly senior position in my company and I am covered in tattoos. No one cares as I perform very well, and if required for a meeting I keep them covered.
It's true there's plenty of trash covered in tattoos, but it's also true there's plenty of trash with no tattoos.

- [r154] I still most likely make more than you do.... unless your clearing more than 100k a year? And I couldn't care less about using proper grammar on an internet forum, I'm not here to appease your grammar nazi ocd.

-
No hiring mgr. would hire someone to work in office setting with facial tattos showing.
I would, speaking as a manager. I wouldn't hire you if your spelling and grammar was as poor on your application as it is on your post.
- r157, your grammer is not good either.
- Yes, I noticed once I read my post, assuming that you mean grammar when you refer to "grammer".
- It's a sign of low intelligence, low maturity, and general trashiness.
- I know a woman who owns her own business that has a small neck tatoo. It's some sort of saying. One can't see it if she has her hair down. She had it up one day and I saw it. It's neither trashy nor gangster.
- r160
picking on people is also a sign of low maturity, as well as being insecure.
oops
- It's very tacky and classless to have a neck tattoo.
- Trailer park trash...nuff said!
- [r164]
that's cool I'll just jump my trailer park ass into my Tesla Roadster and cruise on down the road. and while I'm cruising you can sneer at my tattoos b/c long story short... tattoo or not I'm still a better person than you are.
have a nice life. try not to smell your own shit too much.

- The neck is a very sensitive area, very thin-skinned. Tattoos on that area are VERY painful. And that's the point. People who get neck tattoos want to show the world how tough they are. Even the girl with the "Hello, Kitty" on her jugular is saying "I'm so tough! I had "Hello, Kitty" tattooed on my jugular vein! How tough is THAT!"
Neck tattoos are very popular with gang members and other criminal types. Again, it's the toughness thing. By flaunting your neck tattoo you're saying to the world, "I'm tough!" But you're also saying "I have very bad judgement" and "I'm kinda stupid."
- Whenever I see that (a neck tattoo), I just think to myself "Oh boy, a lifetime of turtlenecks ahead for that one !".
- you people do know that there IS tattoo cover makeup and whatnot right? I don't have any tattoos and I really don't want any. anywhere. ever. but you know it's real shitty when people slam others for being who they are (barring molesters and murderers and all those types) you people should be ashamed of yourselves for judging others like that for their GOD GIVEN RIGHT to be who they are... shame on you.
I sincerely HOPE that none of you people are christian! It's ones like you that give the rest of us bad names!

- I diverts attention away from the aids camel hump
- To the people who think tats are trashy and make people look low class are the ones that always wanted one but too scared to get them or there spouses don't want them too
- Is DL a Romney board?
- Is there one anti-tattoo moron on here that starts all these threads? Get over it, some of us are inked.
- im 24 and have two neck tattoos on either side. I look after people with learning disabilities and mental health problems. I have a house, a car and my girlfriend is a professional tattoo artist, also with a neck and throat tattoo. Are we trashy? Or are you basing your judgement on the fact that you're bitter at people with a sensense of personal expression which you are obviously severely lacking? If someone doesn't want to look past my non offensive tattoo and hire me based on my skills for the job then, to be frank, i don't want to work for the c*nt
Don't judge a book by its cover, and more to the point stop being a bellend and judge anyone :)
