Following up on the NY Times / Scientology thread, can someone fill us in with the fight they had at a party.\
Wasn''t George Clooney and Leo D. and Brad Pitt there?\
A little context please, OP?!\
I never knew of a fight between them...but I had heard that Tom was pissed because Kate Capshaw took Katie Holmes to lunch without his knowledge.
OP, I saw it talked about here recently, maybe the last month. I know the search function is iffy but give it a few tries just in case.
There''s a full account on the web somewhere. Vanity Fair? It all started after WOTW and came to a head at some Hollywood party - (R1) is right, Clooney and other A-listers were there as well apparently.
Spielberg does not want Cruise to set up a Scientology tents on site. He thinks Tom has gone completely ape-shit and blamed Toms private gay sex life for driving him mad.\
Leo stays away from the Crazy Cruise, Pitt as always, is like a piece of furniture and never has any opinion.
It was briefly mentioned in the Scientology thread, I was just wondering if someone had more details.\
(I guess there was a party, and Cruise kept trying to talk to SS about he should be directing more movies. Kate Capshaw wanted SS to have nothing to do with Cruise. Hanks, Leo, Clooney had to separate them (I think). Maybe I am making this up.)
OP, it was a whole thread here. Can''t remember the title though.
Didn''t it have something to do with Tom Cruise insisting on having steak fries, while Spielberg thought crinkled would be better?
It was after Cruise publically chastised Brooke Shields for taking psychiatric meds. Capshaw took offense and was open about her feelings to everyone in Hollywood. To her, Cruise is a jerk. Word got back to Cruise. Cruise approached Spielberg about the wife and over time he tried to stir up trouble in their marriage and trouble with their friends...using that fair game Scientology stuff.
I heard it all started when Tom tried to insinuate that Spielberg''s BFF Daphne Zuniga wasn''t a ''serious actress''.
Tom told SS that he needed to exert more control over his wife and SS got pissed off.
I don''t know, but being one who gets most of this type of information from DL, I would guess the fight was over whose table Daphne Zuniga would sit at at the Golden Globes. Tom really wanted her at his, but Stephen wouldn''t hear of it.
I actually posted the text here in a Scieno thread about three years ago. I certainly don't remember reading anything about this being a script or creative writing.%0D
I also recall reading, on god knows which site now, that there was tension when the War of the Worlds was being promoted in Paris. There was a press conference that was supposed to be about the movie and Cruise went on to coopt it and talked almost exclusively about COS. I believe, IIRC, that's here he announced his engagement from Holmes. Spielberg was reportedly livid. It was kind of like he turned all attention to himself at the Batman Begins premiere in LA when he drove up the red carpet on a motorcycle with Katie Holmes perched on the back. I remember seeing the cast pictures and there was visible distance between Holmes and the actors standing next to her. Bale looked annoyed.%0D
And there were reports that Cruise tried to dissuade Kate Capshaw, who had a kid seeing a psychiatrist, from using his services. There reports of suspicious cars idling around the shrink's office.
Someone posted here years back that Oprah was at a party with Spielberg and she cornered Spielberg and told him that she didn''t like what was going on and he was the one who had to fix the problems between Cruise and him.%0D\
Then the Sumner Redstone thing happened and didn''t CoS thugs confront someone coming out of the studio at night. This was the true beginning of the end of TC''s megastar status.
Oprah needs to stop kissing scientology ass R15.
What was the reason that Katie got fired from Batman?
And if that''s true, R15, what the fuck business is it of hers?
Because R19 she is a huge Tom Cruise/Will Smith/Scientology suck up.
R11 - thank you!!
Thanks, R11. I read that story way back, but I''m reading it again. Good stuff.%0D\
Can someone fill me in on the Daphne Zuniga stuff? I noticed her name is mentioned a lot with Spielberg on this site. What''s the connection there?
After reading the link I imagine Katie has to present a detailed schedule for Tom''s approval and that might explain her poorly disguised misery now.
I don''t know if it was the Tom Cruise connection got her canned from the second Nolan Batman or that she just plain sucked in it. The other actors were so good and she was a glaringly weak link in the cast. The contrast was funny/embarrasing. The official story is that she chose to do that film with Queen Latifah (can''t remember the name), supposedly at Tom''s behest. It bombed.
Doesn''t she always have a Scientology minder with her?
R22 - there used to be a thread "Why is Daphne Zuniga sitting next to Steven Spielberg at the Golden Globes?" I think it was from the 2010 Globes.
The original Zuniga/Spielberg thread is gone, but here is the sequel:
Yes R25. I don''t think she is allowed to associate with anyone not in the church except her parents and I''m sure they have been warned and signed a contract or her parents have some leverage, Dad being an attorney and all.
So when is the contract up? This bearding didn''t work out well for either party. You''d think they''d both want to move on.
R20, don''t forget John Travolta!
I know there were doubts in the past but do most people now believe Suri really is Tom''s daughter or do they still suspect someone else is the father?%0D\
Either way, there doesn''t seem to be as much speculation about it as there used to be (not that I''ve heard anyway).
Alright bitches. You knew that one of us had saved this whole story.\
Well, it was me. I''ll start pasting now.
"Part 1 - Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg decided it was time to make another movie together. They had done so in the past and it had been a rather successful endeavour. Besides, they had been good friends for many years and were looking forward to work together again. In the first few weeks of their collaboration things were going just fine. But then Tom Cruise met Katie Holmes and things slowly started falling apart.
The press is very interested in Katie Holmes and her relationship with Tom Cruise and they ask lots of questions. It threatens to overshadow the publicity tour Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg are on, to promote their new movie. Steven Spielberg asks Tom Cruise if he could perhaps lead the journalists away from their line of questioning. But Tom Cruise tells him he's so in love he can hardly think about anything else himself anymore. Steven Spielberg sighs and asks Tom Cruise if he can at least try and leaves it at that. For the moment.
But there's something else that's troubling Steven Spielberg. On the set he has noticed Tom Cruise, more than previously, is adamant in spreading the word of, let's call them his friends of the church of strong believers. As matter of fact, Tom Cruise, on more than one occasion tries to convince Steven Spielberg that his friends could become Steven Spielberg's friends and advises him to give it a try. But, Steven Spielberg, kindly, yet firmly tells Tom Cruise it's not his cup of tea.
This does not stop Tom Cruise from trying repeatedly to convince Steven Spielberg he is wrong. This goes on until the exasperated and annoyed Steven Spielberg explodes and tells Tom Cruise to keep this madness away from him. Tom Cruise, in utter disbelief over this outburst, states that the amount of stress Steven Spielberg obviously is under should be enough to make him reconsider. He also suggests Steven Spielberg could use some help in anger management and that his friends of the church of strong believers are just the kind of people who could help him with this. Steven Spielberg now urges Tom Cruise to not bring this subject up ever again.
Spielberg's helpers begin to notice Steven Spielberg appears to be avoiding Tom Cruise wherever and whenever he can. They also notice that the arguments between Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg are becoming more frequent and uglier of nature whenever they simply cannot avoid each other. At this point an assistant steps in and desperately tries to keep the peace between Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg.
Kate Capshaw arrives on the set one day and invites Katie Holmes for lunch. Katie Holmes hesitates. She doesn't think Tom Cruise is going to be very happy with her taking off like that, without letting Tom Cruise know where she's going. Since she cannot locate Tom Cruise she's about to decline Kate Capshaw's invitation. But. Steven Spielberg assures her he thinks it's fine with Tom Cruise. Certainly he knows Katie Holmes is in good hands and wants her to have a good time? After these words Katie Holmes decides to accept Kate Capshaw's invitation.
Now Tom Cruise arrives and asks Steven Spielberg if he knows where Katie is. Steven Spielberg answers she just left for lunch with Kate Capshaw. Tom Cruise wants to know where, and Steven Spielberg replies he doesn't have a clue. Tom Cruise frowns and asks Steven Spielberg if that doesn't bother him. Initially thinking this is a joke, Steven Spielberg laughs it away by replying that if he would want to keep tabs on Kate Capshaw's agenda he would have a full daytime job and wouldn't be able to make movies anymore. Steven Spielberg, however, is stunned, when Tom Cruise advises him that maybe it would be better to ask Kate Capshaw to at least let him know where she is and what she is doing, especially when she takes Katie Holmes with her. Steven Spielberg now visibly starts losing patience with Tom Cruise and tells him he can treat Katie Holmes however he seems fit, no matter how Steven Spielberg and other may think about it, but that Tom Cruise better not start telling him how to treat Kate Capshaw.
Later that day Kate Capshaw has a little chat with Tom Cruise and says she's sorry he got upset she took Katie Holmes with her. Tom Cruise says it's okay, he and Katie Holmes talked things over and that she's promised him it won't happen again. Kate Capshaw smiles politely, says she's happy to hear this and appears to be leaving, but Tom asks if he could have a word with her. He then asks Kate Capshaw doesn't she think it wise she would let Steven Spielberg know what her agenda of the day is? Kate Capshaw starts laughing and tells Tom Cruise he should know Steven Spielberg is a busy man. If she were to call him to inform him what she's doing at the moment, she would have to call him ten times a day and Steven Spielberg would not appreciate that. Tom Cruise replies that that just might be the problem. He says he knows Kate Capshaw is fulfilling most of her obligations towards Steven Spielberg and their children but, wouldn't it be better if she would find more activities in and around their home?
Kate Capshaw blinks in astonishment but manages to remain polite. She tells Tom Cruise she does not know what kind of arrangement he has with Katie Holmes, but that it definitely sounds very different from the way Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg treat and respect each other. She tells Tom Cruise that Steven Spielberg does not want Kate Capshaw to be sitting around the house all day, but wants her to do the things she considers meaningful and important. He wants this because it's important to him Kate Capshaw is happy. She then asks Tom Cruise what makes him think he has the right to intrude on the way of living of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw.
Tom Cruise replies he is 'worried'. Some of his friends of the church of strong believers have told him they have big problems with some of the projects Kate Capshaw is supporting. Tom Cruise goes on the say he's 'worried this might have a negative impact on Steven Spielberg's reputation and standing'. Before Kate Capshaw can reply, Steven Spielberg shows himself and there is no doubt he has overheard at least a big portion of their conversation. As Steven Spielberg slowly makes his way over to Tom Cruise, several Spielberg helpers run for cover.
Steven Spielberg tells Tom Cruise he would appreciate it if he would stop harassing Kate Capshaw and that if he ever catches him doing it again, Tom Cruise will have a bigger problem than he can handle.
Tom Cruise appears crestfallen and says he was only trying to help. Steven Spielberg loses his temper and snaps he does not want or need Tom Cruise's help. Now Kate Capshaw moves herself in between Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise and starts pushing Steven Spielberg towards to exit.
The minute Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw have left, Spielberg's helpers stand gaping at Tom Cruise for a long time before they start disappearing as well.
In this chapter we will tell the story of how an unpleasant event on the doorstep of a doctor's office led to the beginning of the ending of the friendship of Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise.
This second chapter starts in the home of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw where Kate Capshaw receives a phone call early in the morning. When Steven Spielberg is in consultation with one of his moviemaking business partners, Kate Capshaw enters, clearly infuriated. She informs Steven Spielberg she has just learned about a large group of followers of the church of Scientology showing up at the front door of a doctor's office, making a very ugly scene. This doctor happens to be the doctor who helped out a relative of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw not so long ago...
Kate Capshaw asks Steven Spielberg pointedly if he thinks this is a coincidence? They both know a person attached to this church of Scientology and the issues they have with certain aspects of medical treatment. Did Steven Spielberg happen to talk to with this person about the doctor?
Steven Spielberg appears to be taken aback and feverishly starts searching his memory in attempt to recall a conversation of such nature. He's about the state the subject never came up when he does remember a conversation; not with Tom Cruise, but he was nearby enough to have overheard, what was said.
The still livid Kate Capshaw chastises Steven Spielberg, who in his defence replies he cannot believe Tom Cruise had anything to do with this. Kate Capshaw asks him to come up with another explanation then and Steven Spielberg has to admit he can't. Kate Capshaw then tells Steven Spielberg this is the last straw. She tells Steven Spielberg she wants him to cut all ties with Tom Cruise. The desperate Steven Spielberg tells Kate Capshaw it's not just up to him and that there are more parties involved. He asks Kate Capshaw to remember he is in the final stage of promoting his latest movie and that there is a lot of money and people investing this money involved. What is he supposed to say to them?..."
"...Kate Capshaw then tells him fine, and for Steven Spielberg to do whatever he had to do, just as long as he kept Tom Cruise very far away from her and their family, and that he is not the set another foot in their home.
The minute the temperamental Kate Capshaw leaves, Steven Spielberg sinks back into his chair looking at his moviemaking business partner who has listened in silence mounting disbelief at the revelations. Showing signs of fatigue, Steven Spielberg states; "Great. This is just, great. I'm going to kill this *beep* idiot!"
The first chance Steven Spielberg has to confront Tom Cruise in person is on their next promotional tour. The minute Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise meet, it is clear to all present something is very wrong. Even the baby movie actress tells the assistant director that Steven Spielberg seems extremely crossed with Tom Cruise and wonders what is going on.
Before departure, Steven Spielberg tells Tom Cruise they need to have a word in private. In this conversation Steven Spielberg tells Tom Cruise about the strangely coincidental events at the doctor's office and wonders if Tom Cruise has an explanation for it. Tom Cruise appears shocked and tries to convince Steven Spielberg had had nothing to do with what took place.
Steven Spielberg says that while he might be willing to give Tom Cruise the benefit of the doubt, Kate Capshaw seems to be feeling somewhat different about this. Tom Cruise suggests he will talk to her and explain, but Steven Spielberg answers that might not be one of his best ideas. Adding that the way Kate Capshaw is feeling right now, chances are Steven Spielberg will have to bail her out of jail for assault the very least, should Tom Cruise show his face.
He then tells Tom Cruise that for all their sakes, it's probably better Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise keep their relationship on a professional level. At least for now, until Steven Spielberg has had the chance to calm Kate Capshaw down. Somewhat. Tom Cruise is not happy with this, but reluctantly agrees.
Despite the fact Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise put on their professional faces for the rest of the promotion tour, many pick up on the tensions, and several point out how distracted and out of place Steven Spielberg frequently appears to be. Even more revealing is how little he seems to be doing to help Tom Cruise out, whenever he gets himself into trouble by again promoting the words of his friends of the church of Scientology. It's clear to many that Steven Spielberg is distancing himself from Tom Cruise more and more and has an increasingly hard time to hide his irritation and frustration.
We take a little jump in time. Steven Spielberg's and Tom Cruise's movie has been released and in theatres worldwide. As agreed, Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg have scaled their friendship down to business level only for the time being and each have gone their separate ways. But even though Tom Cruise has agreed to this, he is not happy with the current situation. Then an opportunity presents itself, an opportunity Tom Cruise thinks will make things better between him and Steven Spielberg.
Steven Spielberg has to be given yet another award at a film festival. The people organising this festival have picked up on stories of trouble between Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg but decide not to make too much of it. They decide to surprise Steven Spielberg and don't tell the people in his staff who will be handing Steven Spielberg the award. It is supposed to be a surprise after all%E2%80%A6
Steven Spielberg is onstage to receive his award and, on stage steps ... Tom Cruise! While the audience erupts in cheers and applause, Steven Spielberg puts a smile on his face, but is not able to completely mask his surprise. A surprise that according to close observers even comes close to shock. In the audience, people close to Kate Capshaw notice that she freezes. They also notice the quick looks exchanged between Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw and the look on his face that comes close to an apology. Kate Capshaw does not respond other than with a cold stare at Steven Spielberg. Behind the scenes one of Steven Spielberg's aides moans that Steven Spielberg is going to kill him, while one of the organisers of the event stares at him in surprise.
We have a little peek behind the scenes, where Steven Spielberg erupts and lashes out at one of his aides. How could this happen? Did he not make it very clear he wanted Tom Cruise to be kept away from him? While the hapless aide tries to explain he had no prior knowledge of Tom Cruise's presence at the event, the same Tom Cruise comes walking up to them and starts apologising. It was not his intention to upset Steven Spielberg.
Enter Kate Capshaw. She shoots Steven Spielberg a foul look, thanks him for letting her in on the surprise, then tells him to enjoy himself and that she is leaving. The startled Tom Cruise says he's to one to blame, and that Steven Spielberg had no idea Tom Cruise was going to be here. When Kate Capshaw starts walking away, Tom Cruise wants to walk after her but finds his path blocked by Steven Spielberg telling him this is not a good idea. He then asks Tom Cruise to leave and disappears into another room. A mutual friend runs after Kate Capshaw to make her reconsider.
When it becomes clear to Steven Spielberg that Kate Capshaw really seems to be leaving, it does little to improve his mood. He starts uttering some curses addressed at Tom Cruise (we shall not repeat here) then makes it clear he's leaving as well. Now, his stunned moviemaking business partner tells him he cannot do this. People have no idea what's going on and will not understand. But Steven Spielberg spits to just watch him and that he is in no mood to celebrate, then he starts walking off as well.
The moviemaking business partner turns to Steven Spielberg's aide and urges him to stop Steven Spielberg. Then the moviemaking business partner turns his attention to Tom Cruise and says that he does not understand how he managed to do it but that Tom Cruise just made matters even worse. He then urges Tom Cruise to give it time and to stop pushing matters.
The panting mutual friend returns. The moviemaking business partner asks if Kate Capshaw really left. The mutual friend replies 'no', she managed to make Kate Capshaw see her reaction was unreasonable and she will be back in a minute. The relieved moviemaking business partner then asks if she can ask Kate Capshaw to talk to Steven Spielberg and calm him down, because he seems ready to rip someone's head of.
Kate Capshaw returns, Tom Cruise again starts walking over to her and again tells her it's all his fault and to blame him for what happened. Kate Cap
We make another little jump in time. The eventful film festival is long forgotten, there is just one small matter left that needs to be dealt with; the invitation Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw received to attend the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
Until it has been an unspoken agreement Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw will not attend this wedding, no matter how much upheaval this will stir in the media. But then, something unexpected happens: The movie company aligned to Steven Spielberg end its contract with Tom Cruise and this has Kate Capshaw worried.
Kate Capshaw now tells Steven Spielberg she has changed her mind and that they should attend the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. The surprised Steven Spielberg tells Kate Capshaw he knows how deeply betrayed she feels by Tom Cruise's actions and that he is not going to ask her to do something that will make her feel uncomfortable.
Then Kate Capshaw points out that the troubles between Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise have found its way to the newspapers and the internet. Now that the movie company aligned to Steven Spielberg has terminated its contract with Tom Cruise, Kate Capshaw is certain many people will point the blaming finger for this at Steven Spielberg. Especially when Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw are a no show at Tom Cruise's wedding to Katie Holmes, and Kate Capshaw does not want to be responsible for that. Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw decide to attend the wedding after all.
There is some surprise in the media and with onlookers when Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw arrive at the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Their opinion now is that rumours of trouble between Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise in the media are bogus after all.
What they don't know is that Kate Capshaw already told Steven Spielberg she will sneak off first opportunity she gets. When she starts doing so Steven Spielberg wants to go with her, but Kate Capshaw warns him it will attract unnecessary attention should they leave together so soon.
Half an hour later, Kate Capshaw is gone, while Steven Spielberg stays behind. An hour later Steven Spielberg stars leaving, but - of course! - runs into Tom Cruises who wonders why Steven Spielberg is leaving so soon. Steven Spielberg tells him Kate Capshaw isn't feeling to well and that he does not want to leave her alone too long. Steven Spielberg again congratulates Tom Cruise and then leaves.
Tom Cruise is not pleased with the rapid departure of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw and tells his present friends of the church of Scientology someone is hell bend on ruining his friendship with Steven Spielberg. He adds he is determined to confront this person and put a stop to it..."
I believe the other parties involved are Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks. Tom Hanks and SS are pretty close, too. The original text indicates that 'Z' are either George Clooney or Brad Pitt and 'V' is Leonardo DiCaprio.
Part 4 We've reached the final stage in the story of Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise and how their friendship came to an end. In this final chapter we will tell you about the big confrontation between Tom Cruise and Kate Capshaw and how this will lead to Steven Spielberg telling Tom Cruise their friendship is over%E2%80%A6.
The scene is a big Hollywood party. When Kate Capshaw lingers with other party guests she suddenly finds herself face to face with Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise thanks her for attending his wedding and that he's sorry she and Steven Spielberg left so soon, adding he hopes Kate Capshaw is feeling better. Before Kate Capshaw can reply, Tom Cruise says he's glad he ran into her because they really need to talk. Kate Capshaw once again says this is not the right time and or place. Their conversation is cut short by the arrival of Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks; Rita Wilson is a close personal friend of Kate Capshaw and Tom Hanks is a close personal friend of Steven Spielberg. When Tom Hanks asks Tom Cruise if there is a problem, Tom Cruise says everything is fine and leaves.
After her face to face with Tom Cruise, Kate Capshaw tells Steven Spielberg she wants to go home, but that Steven Spielberg should stay if he wants to. Steven Spielberg asks Kate Capshaw to stay, pointing out there are a lot of people she would like to meet and the place is big enough to avoid Tom Cruise. When Kate Capshaw still hesitates, Steven Spielberg asks her to do him a favour and stay. Kate Capshaw agrees but warns Steven Spielberg there's not telling what she'll do should Tom Cruise give her a hard time. At that Steven Spielberg jokes he will give his lawyer a call and tell him to free some assets so he can bail Kate Capshaw out should this be necessary.
*We leave the party for what it is, step in our time traveling machine and arrive at the time and place where the big confrontation between Tom Cruise and Kate Capshaw takes place. The scene is the terrace where several other actors and actresses are present to witness it all. We shall give two of them a special nick name to avoid too much confusion and because they play a small role in this final stage. We shall refer to actor no.3 as 'Z' and to actor no. 4 as 'V'.
Kate Capshaw is on the terrace when Tom Cruise makes his way over to her. Together with some other party guests, 'Z' and 'V' are on the terrace as well and witness, the confrontation initially keeping their distance.
Tom Cruise again tells Kate Capshaw they need to talk. Again Kate Capshaw tries to make it clear she has no desire to talk with Tom Cruise and wants to leave, but Tom Cruise stops her and says he's sick and tired of Kate Capshaw avoiding him. 'Z' comes over and wants to intervene, but Kate Capshaw tells him it's okay.
"... Kate Capshaw asks Tom Cruise if he's sure he wants her to tell him how and what she thinks of him at such public place as this? Tom Cruise replies 'yes' and that while she is at it she can explain to him why she is so hell bent on ruining his friendship with Steven Spielberg since she has stopped at nothing to achieve this.
The bewildered Kate Capshaw wants to know why Tom Cruise thinks she is the one ruining his friendship with Steven Spielberg. Tom Cruise answers he's known Steven Spielberg for a long time and feels that he has changed ever since he married her. He goes on that before this marriage the only thing that mattered to Steven Spielberg was making movies and that he had the time for his friends. But ever since he married Kate Capshaw, all this changed. All that seems to matter to him know is make and keep Kate Capshaw happy.
Tom Cruise laments Steven Spielberg is neglecting his job, takes long periods of time off because Kate Capshaw wants him to play house, stopped listening to other people and that his friends are paying the price for this%E2%80%A6.
Kate Capshaw replies that Tom Cruise's accusation makes sense, since Tom Cruise has so few friends left. Tom Cruise says the only friends Steven Spielberg has are the friends Kate Capshaw approves of, because she alienated him from his real friends. He asks Kate Capshaw what it is she's so afraid of? That Steven Spielberg's real friends make him realise what Kate Capshaw is really like and that she is poisoning his mind?
Kate Capshaw tells Tom Cruise she has two big fears; 1) people who try to befriend Steven Spielberg because when they look at him all they see is two things; money and profit and will stop at nothing to obtain this, even if this ruins Steven Spielberg. 2) people who try to manipulate him and poison his mind so they can use him for their own agendas
She tells Tom Cruise she feels he fits in both categories and yes he is right, she will do all in her power to make sure Steven Spielberg will keep his distance from Tom Cruise from now on. The heated Tom Cruise replies that he is sorry but that this simply is not acceptable to him.
Now 'Z' walks over to Tom Cruise and tells him to cool it, then turns to 'V' and says it might be a good idea someone would find Steven Spielberg. 'V' agrees and leaves hurriedly. Tom Cruise brushes 'Z' off and says he is cool. He turns back to Kate Capshaw and says he only wants to make one thing very clear to her: he tells Kate Capshaw he will do all in his power to make Steven Spielberg see what Kate Capshaw is doing. He will make it clear to him there will be a day, no matter Kate Capshaw's talents, one day Steven Spielberg is going to regret the day he set eyes on her.
Suddenly Steven Spielberg appears behind Tom Cruise and asks him just who he thinks he is he can talk to Kate Capshaw like that? As Tom Cruise swirls around to face Steven Spielberg, Steven Spielberg walks up to him till they're just inches apart. Steven Spielberg appears to be calm and does not raise his voice at any time, but those who know him better, realize he is displaying a white fury.
'Z' and 'V' choose positions that makes it easier for them to intervene, should this be necessary but for now stay out of it. Tom Hanks ( Steven Spielberg 's close personal friend) comes rushing over, warns Steven Spielberg the buzz is spreading inside, something is going on, on the terrace and tries to pull Steven Spielberg away by his arm, but Steven Spielberg brushes him off.
Steven Spielberg recalls that he told Tom Cruise not that long ago to not bother Kate Capshaw and would like to know what part of "back off" it is that Tom Cruise does not understand? Tom Cruise says that he is sorry but that he just had to intervene. He can no longer keep his mouth shut because he sees what Kate Capshaw is doing, and how much she has changed Steven Spielberg. Tom Cruise says he's kept his mouth shut for a long time but that now Kate Capshaw is starting to ruin his friendship with Steven Spielberg he can no longer keep silent. But Steven Spielberg tells him it's not Kate Capshaw who's ruining their friendship, Tom Cruise achieved that all by himself. He goes on to say that while Tom Cruise may not have noticed, Steven Spielberg is pretty close at blowing a gasket. He suggests to avoid any further unpleasantness and ruin the evening completely for other party-goers they end things. Now.
Tom Cruise argues they can't leave matters like this. But Steven Spielberg says they can and that he will. He reminds Tom Cruise he asked him several times to keep his distance and give matters time, but that time and again Tom Cruise ignored his request.
Steven Spielberg says that a real friend would have respected repeated requests like this, and the fact Tom Cruise did not makes several things clear to Steven Spielberg: Tom Cruise does not respect Steven Spielberg's wishes, he does not respect his family, he does not respect Steven Spielberg and he most certainly isn't showing any kind of respect to Kate Capshaw. Steven Spielberg says he's sorry but that he simply cannot accept this. He has the feeling he no longer can trust Tom Cruise and he does not allow people he doesn't trust to come anywhere near his family.
The shocked Tom Cruise says he can't believe what he's hearing and asks Steven Spielberg what has happened him? Steven Spielberg warns Tom Cruise not to make him his enemy, Tom Cruise won't like it, neither will Steven Spielberg. At this, Steven Spielberg leaves.
When we printed the forth installment of our story of Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise, we thought the story was over. But we couldn't be more wrong. Ever since the friendship ended several events have taken place that could be considered alarming. Our spying eyes are following this story as we write this and send word back on several of their recent discoveries. After verifying, we feel confident enough to print the following:
"Save the children" Three of the older children of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw have been approached by friends of the church of strong believers . They were invited to attend meetings of the church of strong believers. When they declined the invitation, friends of the church of strong believers proceeding in giving them some 'well meaning advice.'
With this advice came some words of caution, their mother's political believes are damaging their father. They advised the kids to talk to her about it. All three of them have made it clear to do not wish to have any dealing with the church of strong believers but are still receiving letters. Documentation and flyers till this day.
"Attack and destroy" Secondly, our spying eyes have learned PIs were hired to dig into Kate Capshaw's past with instructions to find 'incriminating information'. Who hired these PIs is hard to trace, but the few people willing to talk told our spying eyes they have a strong suspicion.
Last year, an attempt was made to pass on information to some of the bigger news media in the United States. They refused to print and broadcast the material, however, after their own resource departments deemed the sources of the information unreliable and could not find any evidence to back the story up.'
A senior representative of one of the major news broadcasts labelled the information as an "attack and destroy" mission. 'It doesn't matter it's all lies. Throw out enough of it and by the time it's proven to be all lies, the damage is long done. That was the sole purpose of this information. And these were one hundred per cent lies'. Some of the media contacted and alerted Steven Spielberg.
"Seduction" A third event involves an actress sent in Steven Spielberg's direction. An actress he knew. This actress tried to win Steven Spielberg's trust (and maybe even more than that...), then proceeded telling him certain 'disturbing' things she had heard about Kate Capshaw. She advised him to either seize control or end things before it was too late. Steven Spielberg is no longer on speaking terms with this actress.
"Gifts" Another [thing] was brought to the attention of our spying eyes just last night. The expensive birthday gifts Tom Cruise sent to Steven Spielberg and some of the children of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw. All gifts came with long, handwritten letters. All gifts have been returned.
"Have you heard...?" Other than these incidents our spying have been told the friends of the church of strong believers are continuously passing on information to media, sympathetic to the church of strong believers in hopes this information will make its way to mainstream media. Again with the goal to cause of much damage as they possibly can. The internet, especially, is a weapon they use increasingly. Many blogs and websites have been offered gossip and rumours and some have already taken it in with a spoonful%E2%80%A6
We are trying to get our finger behind this continuing story so we will be able to give you the full inside. But it is not easy to get people to talk. Most of them out of loyalty to Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw but our spying eyes have the feeling there might be more to some people's refusal to talk.
They are, however, making progress. As soon as their story can be checked and verified we will give you the full inside."
That was all that was posted as far as I know.
My goodness, if I wasn''t already in bed when I read all that I''d need to have a lie down.%0D\
Can anyone verify if Rita Wilson said, at any time, "Kate, you in danger, girl!"?
Wow. Is there a link that has this whole story? Because the one upthread only has the first two parts.
I can''t find my glasses, could someone please give the condensed version? tia
The last parts are very interesting. Methinks TC and the church were trying to woo SS and felt Kate Capshaw was in their way. Good for her to see through their bullshit.
Sure, R45. Tom is pissed that Spielberg has a life.
There is a bit more to the story up on the Suppressive Person website (linked upthread)
Now THAT was an excellent Sunday morning read!
exactly who is "the baby movie actress" - Kirstie Alley?
R48, Oh, God, no more!\
Please, no more!
Summary for R45: Tom''s a chauvinistic douchebag who is trying to ruin Spielberg''s marriage, because Spielberg puts family first, which Tom sees as the wrong priority. In addition, Tom thinks Spielberg needs to have better controls on his wife like he does with Katie. Tom has promised to do whatever he can to get Capshaw out of Spielberg''s life. Even after being told to back off, Tom refuses.
R52, a fine job, if you want the WAR AND PEACE sized summary.
Is there any insider on here that can corroborate this story? It seems so far fetched. Certainly, Tom went off his rocker during that time and completely ruined his career. I just wonder how much of this is true.
Actually, R4, I can totally believe this story. The timing is just right for Tom''s meltdown period and the visible distance between him and SS on the publicity tour. Tom did bring scieno tents to the movie set and SS was not too thrilled about it either. Tom is stupid to fuck with SS who has way more clout than Tom does now. I wonder if Tom''s waning power and popularity is a backlash from the Spielberg camp.
Whats ridiculous is TC acting like SS has "changed" since he met KC. They have been married like 20 years at he has made plenty of amazing films since then. TC is so crazy.
The baby actress has to be Dakota Fanning, right? This was circa "War of the Worlds"? \
And the source for this story is either Kate Capshaw or Steven Spielberg. Which is awesome. I have a newfound respect for them both.
Who is the "seduction" actress?
The substantive backlash began when Sumner Redstone fired Cruise.%0D\
I can believe that Spielberg and his Dreamworks business associates Katzenberg and Geffen may be along for the ride. I know Redstone and Geffen are mortal enemies, but Redstone is in god''s waiting room%0D\
R58: Daphne, Zuniga, natch!
And we''ve come full circle.
I think it''s too late for Tom Cruise to ever come back. TCOS has turned Tom into a puppet. What a sad individual he has become.
It should be pointed out that in r11''s link, Actor no. 3, aka "Z," is referred to as "Mr. Ocean Lover" - George Clooney - and Actor no. 4, aka "V," is referred to as "Mr. Hard to Catch" - Leonardo DiCaprio.
[quote]exactly who is "the baby movie actress" - Kirstie Alley?\
Dakota Fanning. Happened at a press junket for War Of The Worlds.
I''ve heard the seduction actress was Amy Irving, Spielberg''s former wife.
Amy Irving is not a clam.
This all came from SS''s camp, but it was personal assistants and not SS or KC themselves.
Wouldn''t a trip to Jasmine Guy''s house suffice?
What about the story of the studio executive who was using his power to derail Tom''s new projects? Can someone post a link to that and comment? I wasn''t sure what to make of it at first. Then that Nazi movie he did bombed and Knight and Day didn''t do very well either.
R68, that''s where the big confrontation at the party happened.
R70, I thought I remembered reading more details about how a studio exec was actively trying to sabotage Tom''s new movies. It was like a continuation this story.
Tom Cruise can join any fucked up religion he wants. Oh wait a minute, HE CAN''T! It will damage his career, he will be the butt of stupid jokes, his peers will shun him ect.. Get over yourself people. Someday that could be YOU! Live and let live.%0D\
Before anyone gets the lame ass idea that I''m a TC fan you can stop right there. I don''t give a shit about millionaire celebrities. I can have my views he can have his. Get over yourselves people. If the tables ever turned you''d sure bitch. I have never expirienced the amount of blatant hypocrisy Iv''e witnessed in the last couple of years. That''s not waht I''m about. Are there only women and hetro''s who post here anymore? Seems like it.
r72 = Revolta.
r72, a person can''t be more blatantly hypocritical than being a lying closet-case.\
Tom Cruise is such a person, and his "religion" is complicit in the lies, ergo "fair game."
From the R33 - R42 post:[quote]Steven Spielberg has to be given yet another award at a film festival... Steven Spielberg is onstage to receive his award and, on stage steps ... Tom Cruise! While the audience erupts in cheers and applause, Steven Spielberg puts a smile on his face, but is not able to completely mask his surprise. A surprise that according to close observers even comes close to shock.\
There must be a clip of this somewhere. If someone knows at which film festival this happened, and can post a link where it can be seen, I''m sure it would be greatly appreciated by many.
R74 Cruise can be in the closet if he fucking wants to. It''s his fucking life.
R72 seems almost incoherant with his(?) reaction. I don''t think anyone is saying TC can''t be a Sciento. I just don''t think anyone who doesn''t want to be one should be harrassed to join it. That goes for any religion, really. This thread isn''t even about CoS. It''s about GOSSIP regarding the rift between TC and SS. A natural subject for DL.%0D\
You shouldn''t be on this thread R72. It upsets you too much.
"...any fucked up religion he wants. Oh wait a minute, HE CAN''T! It will damage his career, he will be the butt of stupid jokes, his peers will shun him ect.. Get over yourself people. Someday that could be YOU!"%0D\
Tom has been involved with that fucked-up religion for decades, and nobody minded, everyone lived and let lived.%0D\
They''re persecuting him for trying to break up Spielberg''s marriage, harassing his children and associates, using his clout to push $cientology on low-level workers, and generally being a twat. And a moron, it''s hard to believe anyone with the IQ to remember his lines would be dumb enough to mess with Spielberg''s family. %0D
He allegedly gave Meryl notes on how to improve her performance during "Lions for Lambs." I can imagine that went over well.%0D\
You can tell Redford and Streep are only tolerating him here.
r78, of course he can. And it is the epitome of hypocritical, and we are allowed to call him on it.\
Unless Cruise is condemning homosexuality, if he is closeted, he is not so much a hypocrite as he is a liar. \
A liar perpetuates an untruth. \
A hypocrite condemns something in which he himself indulges in.\
Has TC condemned queerness, R82?\
If not, then let''s call TC a fucking, closeted, fucked up liar. But he is not a hypocrite.
Yes, he has. And his religion has and does (and purports to "cure" homosexuality).\
Where have you been, r83?
Just for sake of discussion, what has TC directly done/said that is anti-homosexual?\
(I am not talking about TCOS.) \
Quotes? Statements? Actions?
[quote]A hypocrite condemns something in which he himself indulges in.%0D\
Actually, his lawyer handles the condemnations, as anyone with a modicum of intelligence already knows. Have you spent the last ten years locked up?
You can''t NOT talk about TCOS because he is their most famous figurehead.\
He is the face of scientology.\
How about marrying contracted beards?\
How about having his lawyers threaten to sue at the drop of a hat if anyone deigns to tell the truth about his sexuality?
That was one weird ass written article. What''s with all the Steven Spielberg yadda yadda Tom Cruise yadda yadda, we all knew who the Hell they were talking about after the first paragraph.
R85, all I remember was that a tabloid said that Cruise was gay and in the closet, and he had a hissy fit and then sued the tabloid, and made tons of cash.
In the clip linked to by R81, nearly all of the responses shown are from Streep and Redford. Surely, Tom Cruise had to have spoken up during the interview, but it''s not shown. Could the reason for his comments being cut by whomever was in charge of editing have been that he was mainly just spouting his usual Scientology crap?
Shit. As fucking usual it's left to me to provide the official record after putzes dither and dick around trying to remember what one PR flack wrote in response to another PR flack's fuckingbullcrap. Like I don't have better things to do on a Sunday when the goddesses are taking turns polishing the ol' newel post and the network has its tongue so far up my ass begging me to come back that I can hear my appendix squeak with clean. YES, AMERICA, THE SHEENSTER WARRIOR IS STILL WINNING!!!
Anycrap, blah blah blah everyone is fucking sick to rotten death of Cruise and his retardo whacko shit with the Scibernuts but no one's gonna cross him. Shit, that tool needs a service monkey to help him find the doorknob to get out of the toilet. SO after all the Cruise-Spielberg friction there's the event and they've got the usual glory hole set-up in the back of the event in the men's room portion of the VIP area/tent and Stevo - who ALWAYS drops a load because the suck suck girls are Asian and he gets off on the Pearl Harbor and Tet Offensive payback shit goes in for a complimentary drool and drop. All very usual for these events. Hwood types have been getting bj's from chorus girl and dress extra at biz events since Louis B. shackled Anna May Wong to her knees behind a curtain at the Hotel Roosevelt to get the Oscars started in '29. Fuck - now I'm a fucking film historian? But shhhh - for shitting sake don't tell the wives. The twatlings STILL THINK they've achieved equality with the menfolk.
So Spielberg does his thing and after the recipient behind the little hole slurps the load down with a little gargle he hears a "Well, Steven, there's more of the Tribe of Benjamin in me than in the State of Israel. You think Kate might like to know that?" And it's Tom Cruise with a hot pink lip gloss and a drip of Spielspooge on his cheek. Of course the tard is reading it off a card - printed in big letters - his master Davey Miss prepared. Pretending to read, cuz he memorized his lines but thinks reading would make him look smart if he could get the hang of all those confusing letters.
Spielberg is VOLCANIC HOT. Hot like a Jew who's just been told he paid retail. (Nothing against the Jews, man. Just a joke. Some of the best hookers I've been with have been named Rachel.) Blackmail is one thing but Crying Game turnaround is not little Steven's cup of pee - he's phobic about the boy-boy and won't even let Tom Hanks jerk him off when Hanks comes banging on the door drunk and begging. And Spielberg pops Cruise right in the nose. Breaks the perfect little pug. You could hear the cartilage snap like the bones of a baby bird. I FUCKING KNOW because I was the load dropper just before Stevo and let me tell you Cruise knows his way around a shaft.
So all hell breaks loose and the handlers come running and the lawyers and the flacks and security and they Taser the john attendants and load them into a van for disposal and pay off the celebs who were there and Spielberg and Cruise sign the agreements that made everything calm down and you little schmucks haven't heard a word about anything since, have you?
It was fucking classic Hollywood, my friends. My dad said he hadn't seen such polish since the Sciofucks swooped in and covered up the Elvis suicide for Priscilla and earned her eternal gratitude.
Gotta go - Nat's standing here with a hand-sander and this I'm gonna need two hands for. Hope this straightens things out for you, Opie.
Hmm. Well some of that was funny.
Well-researched (props for the inclusion of Anna May Wong), but too long and not as funny as it might have been, r91.
Yeah. I don''t see Charlie Sheen talking that long about something that wasn''t at least 98 percent about himself.
What was the gossip about the War of the World baby?
Supposedly one of the advisers on War of the Worlds was an actual alien, and he impregnated Dakota Fanning.\
She had to have am abortion, which was her third that year.
I know the Simon Wiesenthal Center took a big hit with Bernie Madoff and they need money, but why are they giving Tom Cruise an humanitarian award? Forget the human rights abuses the Co$ is guilty of. Are they aware that Louis Farrakhan is praising $cientology and is spending time at it''s Celebrity Center? SS is also listed, but not Kate. WTF? May 5, 2011.%0D\
That just boggles the mind, R97. It''s amazing what money will buy. I wonder how much this "humanitarian" award cost. Sad.
R88, all of this came in a series of blind items and some people with low reading comprehension skills didn''t like reading it with the BI nicknames so someone went through it with a program to substitute real names for nicknames. And yes, the baby actress was Ms. Fanning.
Oooh girl I''d like to take Miss Capshaw to a long boozy lunch and get her to spill.
And spill she would!
And tell you have a script with an amazing part for her playing Tom Cruise''s mother. See what happens.
[quote]He allegedly gave Meryl notes on how to improve her performance during "Lions for Lambs." I can imagine that went over well.\
I would pay real money for a transcript or re-enactment of THAT.
I wonder how Cruise and JJ Abrams get along on Mission Impossible sets. Isn''t Abrams rumored to be gay?
Ss comes off as slightly dumb from this story. And the fact that they actually attended the wedding might reasonable lead tc to expect the relationship to continue.
God! I HOPE Spielberg has enough power to snuff out Cruise''s career and to also deliver a fatal blow to clampower in Hollywood.\
Yes, not a very charitable wish...
They shit me.
R014, I imagine the look on her face in Devil/Prada when she catches Anne Hathway in her house. Death stare.
He doesn''t just come across as dumb in this story, but narcissistic and wierd. I mean, as wierd as an Aspergers'' kid who doesn''t understand why people smile at each other; that''s how out of touch a person has to be to think he can improve his working relationship with someone by attacking their wife. And kids.%0D\
The story also makes me wonder if their relationship ever hit the more-than-friends level, of if Cruise wanted it to.%0D
I don''t think Spielberg comes off as dumb, I think he comes off as whipped and afraid of pissing off Kate Capshaw in any way. %0D\
Interestingly, the Spielberg of his day - Alfred Hitchcock - was also dominated by his tough as nails wife, Alma, who ruled the roost in that house. These were the most powerful directors in Hollywood of their respective eras.
You may be onto something, R10. \
I seem to recall a rumour that SS has been known to be partial to twinks?\
Certainly TC is behaving like "a woman scorned" in this drama.
Sorry, I meant R110.
r83, there was the time when Tom was asked on one of the interview shows, either Today or one of the morning shows about the guy who had gone public stating how Tom Cruise hired him to wrestle in private and it was obviously some homoerotic situation and then Tom responded to the gay rumor something to the effect of "That''s disgusting; and I have a child..."\
R96 you mean she did it with an illegal alien? A Mexican?
Didn''t Josh Brolin go after TC in the press recently?
Actually, R115, it was Travolta. The journalist added Cruise''s name for "context".
Spielberg has never actually blacklisted anyone, has he? He wasn''t able to kill Julia Roberts'' career after "Hook", even though she deserved it after the trouble she caused. So I guess it''s not a surprise that he didn''t kill Tom''s career. Then again, he didn''t really need to. Tom did such a good job of it himself.\
I''ve seen the clip of Spielberg in R76''s post before somewhere, don''t remember where. Maybe on ET or something when it happened. He really does look uncomfortable.
Tom has never orgasmed.
R110 could be right. By many accounts TC and Newman were an item during the ''Color Of Money'' shoot. Then Newman moved on, but TC wanted more. If true, then uber-daddies do it for TC.
Someone upthread asked for a link to the original story. This is where I first read it and there''s some confusion there about where it really originated. I agree with another poster upthread that it''s clear either Capshaw, Spielberg or Max Spielberg leaked the info:
R117, at the time Roberts did "Hook," she''d already been nominated for an Oscar twice, and was just coming off the very successful "Pretty Woman" and "Sleeping With the Enemy." \
Spielberg would have been able to kill her career. He recognized that she was already a popular star. But he doubtless told her she was going to lose it all if she didn''t get her addiction under control.
r121, Spielberg really doesn''t strike me as the type to get involved in his actors'' issues. Why would he give Roberts a hard time but be fine with working with Dreyfuss multiple times whilst he was a raging, psychotic cokehead?
Cruise''s adopted son Connor has grown up to be a cutie. I remember when he was an adorable little kid.
And Tom sucks at giving BJ''s. He''s a willing recipient, but can''t be bothered with the "messy stuff".
Dee Wallace talks about how she was blacklisted after her name went above the title on the ET posters when Spielberg didn''t want anyone to receive top billing.
What''s up with Tom Cruise''s hair? The guy''s nearly 50 and he''s wearing his hair like that?
I had heard that SS had something to do with Karen Allen''s career dive after the Indiana Jones films. Don''t know if that''s true however.
"What''s up with Tom Cruise''s hair? The guy''s nearly 50 and he''s wearing his hair like that?"%0D\
My guess is that 1) he thinks the floppy bangs make him look younger, and 2) the floppy bangs are a good way to disguise hair plugs.
Scars from facelifts R129?
r125, none of the posters for E.T. feature Dee Wallace''s name above the title.
I would love to believe the story but a lot of the people following the saga have commented that over time it got too overblown and overwritten to feel true. Especially as it was being released in tantalizing bits, seemingly to drive up the readership of the source site. \
Anyone a bit closer to the situation who can verify anything? \
A child-like Spielberg is possible... I know someone who ran into him at a vending machine and Steven looked a bit unnerved, like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He was glancing around for his security guard even though my non-threatening friend was just there to buy a candy bar and it was already a pretty secure location. Steven had this big shopping bag he was just filling with vending machine items and his security guard told my friend he had this thing about vending machine food. Maybe it''s a novelty for him.
r132, his home in East Hampton is ridiculously covered by security cameras. It looks like an armed compound. It doesn''t sit well with the remaining WASP neighbors.
Maybe Not Sally Quinn
Speaking of Scientology is their habit of asking "what''s your damage?" or "what are your crimes?" part of the auditing process to get info for blackmail? Anyone ever been audited?
Bump - b/c Katie Holmes was just on Ellen and she''s a freakin'' robot.
All I know is that Google deleted my johntravolablowstomcruise @gmail.com email address!!!!
#R134 Spielberg has had people break into his house. That would explain the security.
Read "Easy Riders and Raging Bulls" (I might have the name backwards - it might be "Raging Bulls, etc") for insight into SS. He seems to have been a bit of a nerd, awkward and somewhat bumbling socially, and this fight with TC over Capshaw fits his profile. I have always ALWAYS believed Paul Newman was more gay than bisexual but no one has ever believed me although his friendship with Cruise was so BFF for a short while after they made that movie that it only reinforced my belief.
Would Jessica Capshaw have really dressed her son up as Maverick if Cruise was terrorizing her family? \
[quote] 10/22/2010, JESSICA CAPSHAW: Luke will be a helicopter pilot. I have a flight jacket %E2%80%93 and am picturing a Tom Cruise type of look. I need some baby ray bans.
who the fuck is jessica capshaw- kate''s sister?
Spielberg also had that very scary stalker for a while.
r145, her daughter.\
r146, what did the stalker do?
the stalker wanted to rape Spielberg%0D\
Did they catch the guy or did he find someone else to rape?
Why did have a rape kit on him?\
What an odd choice of someone to sexually fixate upon...
Bump for this thread since there was a question about a Speilberg Cruise feud in one of the others.
Bump by request.
He w-w-w-wanted to R-R-R-Rape him!!!
When we printed the forth installment of our story of Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise, we thought the story was over. But, we couldn't be more wrong. Ever since the friendship ended several events have taken place that could be considered alarming. Our spying eyes are following this story as we write this and send word back on several of their recent discoveries. After verifying, we feel confident enough to print the following:
"Save the children"
Three of the older children of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw have been approached by friends of the church of strong believers . They were invited to attend meetings of the church of strong believers. When they declined the invitation, friends of the church of strong believers proceeding in giving them some 'well meaning advise.'
With this advise came some words of caution, their mother's political believes are damaging their father. They advised the kids to talk to her about it. All three of them have made it clear to do not wish to have any dealing with the church of strong believers but are still receiving letters. Documentation and flyers till this day.
"Attack and destroy"
Secondly, our spying eyes have learned PI's were hired to dig into Kate Capshaw's past with instructions to find 'incriminating information'. Who hired these PI's is hard to trace, but the few people willing to talk told our spying eyes they have a strong suspicion.
Last year an attempt was made to pass on information to some of the bigger news media in the United States.
Throw out enough of it and by the time it's proven to be all lies the damage is long done. That was the sole purpose of this information And these were one hundred per cent lies' Some of the media contacted and alerted Steven Spielberg.
A third event involves an actress sent in Steven Spielberg's direction. An actress he knew. This actress tried to win Steven Spielberg's trust (and maybe even more than that…), then proceeded telling him certain 'disturbing' things she had heard about Kate Capshaw. She advised him to either seize control or end things before it was too late. Steven Spielberg is no longer on speaking terms with this actress.
Another was brought to the attention of our spying eyes just last night. The expensive birthday gifts Tom Cruise send to Steven Spielberg and some of the children of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw. All gifts came with long, handwritten letters. All gifts have been returned.
"have you heard"…
Other than these incidents our spying have been told the friends of the church of strong believers are continuously passing on information to media, sympathetic to the church of strong believers in hopes this information will make it's way to mainstream media. Again with the goal to cause of much damage as they possibly can. The Internet, especially, is a weapon they use increasingly. Many blogs and websites have been offered gossip and rumours and some have already taken it in with a spoonful…
As soon as their story can be checked and verified we will give you the full inside.
There really is no other way to say it - Tom Cruise is batshit crazy.
I'm glad you re-posted that, r157, because I'd totally forgotten despite bumping the thread.
With all the stuff that Cruise and the Scienos have tried to pull, you just know that Spielberg and those wealthy enough have hired their own investigators and have their own dossiers about the little men. I'm including Miscavige.
I wonder if the Holmes family has been in contact with Spielberg's people. THR article says that they've contacted ex-Scienos, so it would seem logical that they reach out to those who might fortify their case.
Kate Capshaw finds this thread really fascinating. To think that Tom Cruise would dare interfere in the marriage of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw! Kate Capshaw will kick Tom Cruise's ass!
The story reprinted in multiple parts here jibes very well with bits and pieces of the feud I've heard elsewhere about it. And Cruise's behavior in the story fits very much with what I've read about him in the past, and the way how people in cults always behave.
People in cults always want to isolate prospective cult members completely, and play on their insecurities, to get them into their cults. They will typically tell their targets they believe family members are holding them back from being who they really are (which is a way to isolate them), and then tell the target they think he or she in unhappy and could be happier if they'd attend meetings with them. This is exactly what Cruise did: he told Spielberg Kate Capshaw was the problem, and that Spielberg seemed unhappy.
This can work if the target really is unhappy and is looking for a change in his life: but if target is actually relatively happy, it seems extremely manipulative and insulting.
The problem Cruise had that made this problem even worse was that he could not take no for an answer. He was so determined he could fix the problem through sheer persistence and force of will. It made the whole situation even worse, and alienated both Spielberg and Caphsaw even more deeply. Spielberg has not worked with Cruise in six years now, and clearly never will again.
I would say that whatever the minor embrodieries are on this story, it sure fits the facts as I've heard them before and the attitude disaplyed towards Cruise by most Hollywood producers. My guess is he;s scaled back from all this because he realized how much he was shooting himself in the foot after Redstone dropped him (remember when Cruise when on the big public apology thing and apologized publicly both to Matt Lauer and to Brooke Shields?).
But the damage has been done. Pat Kingsley warned him he''d fuck up his career if he let the Scientolofgy thing get too public, and though he fortunately can still rely on his Mission: Impossible franchise to make him money, he never gets other deals like that anymore and his current pictures mostly fail because he's a public turn-off. Even people who think he's straight think he's a phony and a crazy.
Such delicious gossip! I hope more gets leaked!
Although I'm sure that very little will. If Spielberg is truly pursuing a feud with Cruise, he'll take advantage of the World War Cruise divorce flap, but behind the scenes.
I fully expect Tom's movie career to vanish over the next two years, except for projects funded directly by Scientology. Tom's made too many enemies in Hollywood.
Someone seriously needs to investigate Oprah's promotion of Scientology.
Cruise/Smith/ Alley/Travolta Presley--these are her most promoted celebs.
Now, if Oprah was Sciento she would be their biggest score, and we would all hear about it.
Is Oprah just an unknowing tool of COS, or does she secretly believe in it, or is she being blackmailed?
I'm voting for blackmailed
The long ass story starting at R33 reads like a load of bullshit to me.
First off, it's written like a movie script with scenes and with the voice of a narrator here and there. A narrator who uses extremely colouful language like "white hot fury", but who clearly isn't a native English speaker himself. A narrator who somehow has insight into every private conversation that took place between Steven Spielberg and his wife, not to mention Steven Spielberg's very thought process. How is that even possible?
Maybe parts of the story are true, but I'd guess about 90% is completely made up.
[R163] It's possible, because the Spielbergs are the source, engaging in CoS like intimidation/vengeance against the poor dimwit. With enemies like them it's a miracle Cruise managed to recover as top earner.
Cruise should be tossed in a mental institution.
Maybe Cruise thinks YOU ought to be put in a mental institution.
At least he could afford a good one.
You'd be in the snake pit
Cruise would be up for fighting with Spielberg if he was young and shirtless
"and blamed Toms private gay sex life for driving him mad."
the sex, the sex life or the fact that he's keeping it "private"?
Scientology is such vile evil. Cruise isn't to smart, so I can see how he would get lured into it, but how did smart people like Mimi Rogers, Giovanni Ribisi and Anne Archer get sucked in? And what does Archer's mother, Marjorie Lord, think of her daughter and grandson's insanity?
Ribisi was born into it.
Spielberg seems a bit shady himself. There has to be a tell-all book at some point.
Maybe he's the Zodiac Killer?
The more recent thread about TC reminded me of this history. This is one of the better Hollywood feuds and legends. To this day, I have not seen Tom Cruise ever again associated with Spielberg. He found other people to give him box office success, but the orchestrated Katie Holmes flight showed once again that Tom cannot always get his way.
