Grover is my favorite Sesame Street character, by far.\
Sweetums is my choice for forgotten, underused Muppet.\
But my vote goes to the drummer\
(seen here with Miss Rita Moreno)
Grover is my absolute favorite. Jerry Falwell got it all wrong when he chastised Sesame Street for the cohabitating homosexuals Bert and Ernie. Grover is a flamer!%0D\
I also adore Beaker seen in the linked clip singing the best rendition of Danny Boy that I''ve ever heard.
I love Beaker too, thanks for the hilarious clip R17!\
My favorite are the two old hecklers, Statler and Waldorf. These guys are nuts and we all know someone like them.\
Here they are taking on Milton Berle, he was a great sport.\
I am in my forties and I still love the muppets. flame away.
Fozzie and Gonzo were my 2 faves. I have a question that I thought someone here might be able to answer. I remember an episode where the muppets sang "Heart of Gold" by Neil Young along with the guest star. But for the life of me I can''t remember who the guest star was.%0D\
I believe one of the muppets (an old man) was sitting on a porch in a rocking chair. And other muppets and the guest star sang back up. %0D\
Does anyone remember the episode I''m referring to? Thanks. :)
I hate puppets, Muppets Miss Piggy. They are creepy, like clowns and mimes. I don''t understand the attraction.
How could yall bitches forget the Oinker Sisters?%0D\
I wonder if that bitch Miss Piggy had anything to do with them not making it big.
I''ve got a new way to Walk, WALK WALK!
I used to have a Miss Piggy puppet I''d break out at parties and gatherings when I was 12. Oh, the shame!\
But my favorite was always Baby Gonzo (from Muppet Babies).
There was also a very talented, perky, helium voiced, curly haired girl pig who was everything Miss Piggy was not. They would ocassionally bring her out to show another jealous side of Miss Hog (not amorous jealousy, but the talent kind). Needless to say, La Piggy always found ways of exterminating her.%0D\
It was like a Carol Burnett (in Norma Desmond mode) vs. chirpy soprano Vicki Lawrence kind of thing.%0D\
Did this she-pig have a name? Does anyone remember?
I have a soft spot for Janice.
Miss Piggy dirties up her image to make a splash with the new generation
Ernie is my favorite, not Miss Piggy. Kermit would be next, I guess. Then Bert. \
When I was a kid in the 70s, I thought Ernie and Bert were in a relationship. My father was friends with a lesbian couple and that whole idea of two women living together opened my eyes to other relationships with similar dynamics. Bert and Ernie had those. \
I was such a baby dyke.
Yvonne and Sue, I wish I knew what happened to ye
Glennie Close. \
Madame will always be the top of the heap in my book.
It was "Polly Woggy froggy gonna get a big boom..." Also, muppet is for mouth+puppet.
I would be hard put to choose between Rolf & Animal. Oh, and Lamb chop was a female, so, no prostate there. Although, I heard Shari Lewis talking about ordering lamb chops in a restaurant once...
..Apparently they have stripped Cookie Monster's cookies from him now, and replaced them with veggies. That's akin to replacing a wino's Thunderbird with carrot juice. "Om nom nom nom.." just doesn't go with broccoli, sorry. Well, that seems to have filled up the white-space nicely. Ciao.
Kermit. How could he NOT be a favorite? Despite Piggy's flamboyance he was THE muppet.
