Drugs.
[quote] Brand's gravitation toward the Christian faith has come in the wake of numerous accusations of sexual assault, which came to light in September 2023 from a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4's "Dispatches." Four women, one of whom was 16 at the time, alleged that Brand sexually assaulted them between 2006 and 2013. Two months later, another woman brought a lawsuit against Brand, claiming that he exposed himself and assaulted her on the set of the 2011 film "Arthur."
Let's be honest, we know what this is really about. A turn to so-called "Christianity," to try and get ahead of any potential criminal investigations for these numerous alleged sexual assaults.
So cliché, Russell. You couldn't come up with something more original than this trite move?

Remind me who he is. I know the name and face but no idea why. Of course, I could google but I'm hoping for some quippy sass from the DL.

Has he appeared on Big Brother Australia yet?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 30, 2024 4:30 AM |
He’s bigger than Alex Jones with his conspiracy theory podcast. Married Katy Perry. Became big in the UK as presenter of one of the Big Brother shows and standup comedian.

We don’t want him. Go back to the Jews, they need new members or perhaps even Scientology…..

So true r1. And now it's not about his crimes. It's all about "them" hating him just cause he loves him some Jesus!

It’s Jeebus, and it’s all for naught if you’re wandering through Christendom in ignorance of The Truth.

Numerous accusations of sexual assault can often bring on an attack of Christianity.

Next he’ll be proclaiming he IS Jesus (“Cos look I’ve got the ‘air and beard and innit, it’s all just a conspiracy against me like innit!”). Another NPD asshole.

Uh, huh. That should go nicely what with his Sex Addiction and history of Assault.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 1, 2024 7:14 PM |
Unsurprising move, and one he'll bitterly regret when he realizes it's only a profitable grift for a very small number of the right kinds of people.

Bart Simpson's perspective on being bad is reflected in his quote, "I figure I'll go for the life of sin, followed by the presto-change-o deathbed repentance". Brand's career is on a deathbed.

Were these assaults in the UK or the US? Would Metro police investigate? I very much doubt there will be criminal investigations. Beyond Weinstein and Bill Cosby in the US, I can't think others. I don't know about the UK.
My take on it is that he knows he's essentially become inemployable in mainstream entertainment so he's defining himself for the right wing media, blogosphere, podcasts etc. to maintain future income streams. Very practical. Find the credulous and strike.

I never thought he was intelligent, just overly talkative. Now, I think he's emotionally lost and dumber than I thought.
Now, I respect singer Katy Perry for never having children with him and for divorcing him.

Pivoting to try and squeeze some cash out of the ultra-Christian far-right camp. They’re so stupid they’ll probably buy into his grift, too, in spite of his exceptionally sordid credentials.
